Emergency Alert: There’s Still Time To Kill The Hate Bill

Sen. Patrick Leahy’s hate crimes amendment was scheduled to be received by the Senate on Wednesday, July 15, and voted on. Yet, the debate over funding additional F-22 fighter planes on the defense appropriations bill was not resolved today and will continue Wednesday. This delay may give lovers of freedom another day to protest the hate bill, S. 909.
Because of massive failure of Christian/conservative action groups to rally calling at this pivotal moment, homosexual calling in favor of the hate bill dominated in Senate offices today. I have written about how Dr. Dobson and Family Research Council devastated evangelical will to fight the hate bill in their radio broadcast last week. They said it is now in vain to oppose the hate bill; prayer is our only recourse. Yet, for at least several weeks, most of the largest new right evangelical groups have failed to take advantage of powerful opportunities the liberals have delivered to us to gain advantage over the hate bill. None followed up on Sen. Leahy’s outrageous stacking of pro-hate bill witnesses, including Attorney Gen. Eric Holder, against only two opponents of the hate bill in the very brief Senate Judiciary “kangaroo” hearing. Except for two articles by WorldNetDaily and a broadcast by Rush Limbaugh, none have capitalized on Holder’s blunder of admission in Judiciary that the hate bill does not equally protect all Americans. He also said there is no evidence that states are failing to enforce state laws against hate crimes. Thirdly, he admitted that ministers, policemen, and soldiers will not be covered under the hate bill.

New right “watchdog” groups who remain oblivious to imminent passage of the hate bill include WorldNetDaily, Concerned Women for America, Traditional Values Coalition, Focus on the Family and Family Research Council. None have anything on their websites concerning the present, high drama crisis in the Senate. Most are not enthusiastically encouraging phoning and action. Only Janet Porter’s Faith2Action is abreast of events, with her website boldly encouraging calling to forestall a Wednesday passage of the hate bill.
The truth is, the relatively high level of protest calling to the Senate over the past two weeks, from moderate to extremely heavy, has been almost entirely generated by the National Prayer Network.
Now, at last, as an extension of God’s grace, we may have another day in which the people of America, not homosexuals, will have opportunity to dominate calling into the Senate.
Don’t squander this opportunity as most evangelical groups are doing, saying in effect, “We don’t think we can make any difference.” Actually, they could make an enormous difference at this very last moment to remind all members of Congress that the people are very, very angry. The people deeply resent that a pedophile-protecting hate bill — one that denies equal justice to all and doesn’t even provide protection for soldiers — is being underhandedly attached to a military bill which is designed to provide safety for American troops.
Sens. Leahy and Burris held forth in the Senate this week encouraging hate bill passage. Since the Democrats seem determined to pursue the amendment route, it is perhaps too late to try to dissuade them. Therefore, you can make your calls Wednesday very brief and simple, stating the essential message: “Please don’t vote for the pedophile-protecting hate bill. Right… and what great book did you read this from? Almost all of your scientists that we thank for the technologies, Chemistry, Biology, Physics etc, were Christians. The founding fathers were Christians (maybe not perfect, but still self professing Christians), who gave us the joy of real freedom.
George Carlin was a gross, perverted fool. If he wasn’t talking about bodily excrement, he was poking fun at anything and anyone for a cheap laugh. You think he was funny? Seriously? What are you like 8 years old?
George Carlin had some moments, but using his mindset for everyday thinking is beyond absurd.

The founding fathers were not Christians, they were deists. Read for instance Jeffersons personal letters, they reveal more truly on what they thought rather than what they said publicly (even today doubters everywhere around the world have to stay closeted because one needs to stay protected from the religious followers)
Which is probably the closest thing one could be an atheist at that time with getting burned for blasphemy or some other religious thought crime.
In your lifetime you probably won’t even make as half as many witty and intelligent observations about life and its absurdities than can be found on Carlins wikiquote.
Remember, he was a great advocate for free speech and he certainly pointed out that almost all comedy requires a bit of ex aggregations to make a point more strongly.

Oh hell, can we all just stop debating religion!!? its such a ridiculous topic to debate!! No one has evidence of either arguements, so debating such an issue is fruitless!! So no matter what you people say, you will NOT convince one or the other! Why cant you all just grow up and stop dividing yourselves on creed and discuss the tyranny at hand!? This hate bill is a load of nonsense and is completely racist to the core. It seems as if Holder is racist himself. When they debated the bill, he mostly kept repeating himself about how state and local governments were not prosecuting hate crimes with more heavier punishments. Plus he had no evidence and admitted he had no reason to doubt the prosecutions of state and local governments were not operating properly. AND the other reps had stated that the bill would virtually allow double jeopardy of an individual if their crime was considered a “hate” crime. This needs to be the topic of discussion here. NOT religion.

Carlin was a foul mouthed athiest. He was also a brilliant comedian who saw the ironies of society. He didn’t hesitate to point out absurdities and even when I didn’t agree with him he still made me laugh. He called it as he saw it, right or wrong. I would have trusted him before Benny Hinn any day.

If you find his material too dark in the latter days then mission accomplished by Carlin. There are certain things which people do not want you to mention..so Carlin did. Even in that there is some humor if we dare to reflect a bit more about ourselves and mankind as a hole.
Its not for instance that Carlin wished for a suicide channel. Its more to the point that he expects things like these to happen in a deprived culture/country.

Why not pray to all possible gods so that you can be saved? Eternal fire..but he loves you! And he needs money!
And few or even many anecdotes do not make a science, and does not provide proof. With poor anecdotes (humans are very poor observers and draw constantly ridiculous conclusion) one could prove anything.
Its far more likely that man invented god than the other way around. This is why there are so many religions and so many superstitions.

Carlin is right. We’re barely out of the jungle. And if people want freedom and look for it in the bible then they’re looking for it in the wrong place. Nothing more authoritarian than a single unelected entity who commands you to think and act in a certain way. And he asks this without even providing actual evidence so that people would not have to believe through faith, but could actually provide some factual evidence which could be proven over and over again.
Have no other god beside me.. for instance. No deity can be as stupid to demand this when he even so poorly spreads the “correct” faith across the globe. By birth alone millions, even billions of people will automatically believe in the wrong faith.
Religion is one of the most poorly thought out inventions of man.

There’s so many errors in your arguments, it’s hard to determine if you’re serious or you’re just an agitator like Reconmarine? Instead of actually looking at the world as a cynical “know it all”, how about testing the Bible? Your whole premise of an argument is wrong because you believe everything is make believe and thus none of it should be tested or believed, no matter how much of it has been proven.
You believe God was created by man by what authority? No evidence, just your supposition. How well would that work in a court of law? Think you could write a thesis on that and receive a passing grade?
People are given choices to either make fools of themselves or humble themselves and realize they are not nearly as intelligent as they proclaim themselves to be. You have chosen the former and have made it a way of life.

How many times does God have to prove himself to humans? over the millenia, he has proven himself countless times and yet there were always unbelievers. I respect your beliefs, and you should respect that of others who disagree with you. As well, God does not answer all prayers, even the Bible shows this. Don’t fall into the trap of the dogma in many teachings today, the Bible is very clear on matters. He loves you, and there is no eternal torture after death (duh! wouldnt make sense, as you noted.) There will be the proof you are looking for though, but when that day comes, it will already be too late.

So many faults in my arguments yet you do not even know basic facts such as the fact that there are studies on the (non) effects of prayer? Its not a know it all cynical viewpoint…its more of scientific way of looking at things where we actually try to produce emperical evidence to support claims or ideas. With religion you start with the answers from an old book and then you look for things which somehow match and say “see, the bible predicted this”. And if you look at my other answers on this page you’ll see that I say that is foolish to assume that God “x” is true and others are false because they all lack evidence. Some things we will never know.. just accept it.
How should I test it? Its so full of contradictions and poorly translated lines that is not worth the effort. And others have done the job already. Even among yourselves you apologists cannot agree.
Occam’s razor. Considering the amount of gods that we’ve actually invented, is it not far more likely that we have invented the christian god as well? I don’t have the burden of proof (another often mistaken viewpoint from religious apologists) You’ve had your faith for thousands of years yet you still cannot produce evidence. The burdon is not mine. You’re the ones showing up at a court with no case.
Many people are not given any choices whatsoever. Literally millions have dies in famine and diseases, many while being very young.

You have to have a relationship with Christ to have your prayers answered. God’s ears are open to those who are righteous, but, he turns his face away from the prayers of the wicked. You cannot have it your way of living a selfish lust filled life and expect God to answer your prayers. I have always had my prayers answered. Of course, I do not pray for anything rediculous and selfish. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Let not that man think he shall receive anything off God.

People have prayed and prayed for long times..but the fact is, god remains as always absent. God doesn’t bother to heal amputees or doing actually logically easy things like getting rid of cancer. Considering the power your so called god has he is pretty much useless.

Imagine if there was a politician with the same power as god. And he choose to do nothing. People would rightfully be angry about this. The same should be true for a god who could easily improve upon things. Like water in Africa. Or more energy. Or no Easy things for a god to do. But does not happen.

And it could be done in such a language in which more people would actually understand what it says.. no need for many wild speculations. If you create man, you oughta have some understanding about what you have created. Don’t you agree?
Survival of the fittest is a fact. But we’re not hardcore individualists purely, we do a lot of altruistic work as do many animal species.. because we benefit from it. By helping others I can help myself. Example. I’m for instance for public schools, and I want it to have a high quality.. why? Because some of the kids that are growing up today could one day become my doctor. Or some other job which benefits society. For that same reason I do not wish for them to fall into criminality, because I might in one way or another become a victim to (mostly) his or her crime.
Evolution is a science, its not a political viewpoint. Don’t make that fallacy again.
Survival of the fittest is not natural if you interfere in it through massive political means. It happens naturally in the nature..
And I have not claimed to be enlightened. But I’m certainly working on it.
And I do not worship Darwin, but I admire his hard work as a scientist. In science people are at most heroes, but one does not for instance turn to Darwin to understand Einsteins theory of relativity. In religion you all go to the same book, for almost any answer. And this one of MANY holy books…written by men who didn’t even know about dinosaurs and long after Jesus death.

1984 should watch ‘The Secret’. I know it’s kinda hokey but it would explain why praying without believing your prayer will work would kill the prayer. Obviously you haven’t tasted any evil blood. War is a state of last resort. Even so, it’s time is not here. There would have to be a lot more public support for that to be the right thing to do. Exposing all of this, making government more transparent, all of this does more than any bullet could ever do. When enough transparency makes the tyranny obvious, hopefully the government will be left with little recourse other than to make the necessary changes. Believe me, you don’t want the war you say you do. This one may still come, but it will be far worse than anything the world has ever seen. Think casualties beyond the Civil War, a war fought like the French Revolution, but on a global scale. impossible to control, impossible for anyone to remain victorious, other than a sad victory with few survivors. And those survivors might be going to a dictatorship, not for more freedom. This war would be apocalyptical. And no, I am not of any religion whatsoever. Doesn’t Section 10 in s.909 protect our freedom of speech? Also, the bill also clearly states ‘bodily injury’ ‘does not include solely emotional or psychological harm to the victim’. So there has to be a physical act of violence involved.
Please don’t flame me. I’ve read the bill and I’m trying to understand where the issue lies. If it’s a concern for “unequal protection” then I suppose I could understand that as that would be unconstitutional.

The Senate Judiciary Committee held hearings in late June on Senator Ted Kennedy’s “Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act,” (better known to conservatives as the “Pedophile Protection Act”) but never voted on the stand-alone bill S.909. The bill broadly defines many “sexual orientations” requiring protection by federal prosecutors, endangering free speech.
*Attorney General Eric Holder linked the bill to illegal immigrant rights, but “national origin” is already protected by 1994 law, and 75% of Hispanics oppose gay marriage. Holder also admitted Christian pastors would not be protected if assaulted by violent homosexuals.
* Senator Leahy tried to link the bill to a shooting at the Holocaust museum, but “religion” is already protected by the 1994 hate-crimes bill, and shouldn’t be tied to homosexual rights.
* Senator Feinstein hailed Matthew Shepard’s case, but ABC News 20/20 quotes the lead investigator: “sexual orientation certainly wasn’t the motive in [Shepard's] homicide.
547 SEXUAL DEVIANCES TO BE PROTECTED BY FEDERAL MARSHALS
Even if mark-up amendments are permitted (which can be easily deleted in conference), the forthcoming S.909 will mirror a House bill H.R. 1913, already passed 249-175 along strict party lines, which makes “sexual orientation,” “gender,” and “gender identity” into federally-protected classes under the law, and codifies federal protection of up to 547 types of sexually deviant behaviors, including:
* Incest – sex with one’s offspring (a crime, of course)
* Necrophilia – sexual relations with a corpse, also a crime
* Pedophilia – sex with an underage child, another crime
* Zoophilia – bestiality, a crime in numerous states
* Voyeurism – a criminal offense in most states
* Fronteurism – a man rubbing against an unknown woman’s buttocks
* Coprophilia – sexual arousal from feces
* Urophilia – sexual arousal from urine
Attempts by House Republicans to add amendments stating “pedophilia is not protected as a sexual orientation” were specifically blocked and defeated by House Democrats. Lesbian Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) expressed opposition to excluding pedophiles from the bill, and Democrats voted with her to strike any child-protection amendment. She claimed that pedophiles would not be defined within “sexual orientation,” but wouldn’t put that in writing, and refused to define that phrase “sexual orientation,” which Congressman Steve King (R-IA) said will include all 547 sexual deviances listed in the American Psychiatric Association’s DSM-III manual of clinical psychoses, including pedophilia, so now thanks to most Democrats, child molesters will be protected by federal law.
In response on the House floor, Congressman Alcee Hastings (D-FL) not only admitted it would, but defended that all 547 psychoses SHOULD be defended by this new law, saying, “This bill addresses our resolve to end violence based on prejudice and to guarantee that all Americans regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability or all of these ‘Philias’ and fetishes and ‘isms’ that were put forward need not live in fear because of who they are. I urge my colleagues to vote in favor of this rule.”

QUOTING THE BIBLE IN CHURCH WILL BE PUNISHED
Not only will sexually deviant behaviors gain legal protection, this legislation also lays the legal foundation to investigate, prosecute and persecute pastors, youth pastors, Bible teachers, and anyone else whose speech and thought is based upon and reflects the truths found in the Bible. How will this legislation over-rule the First Amendment?
PASTORS NOT PROTECTED BY FIRST AMENDMENT
S. 909 broadly defines “intimidation,” thus a pastor’s sermon could be considered “hate speech” if heard by an individual who then acts aggressively against persons based on any “sexual orientation.” The pastor could be prosecuted for “conspiracy to commit a hate crime” or for “inciting violence against gays” simply by quoting the Bible in church. And the First Amendment won’t automatically protect pastors, since speech accused of “inciting violence” is not protected, and is punishable, under precedent of Supreme Court rulings. In 1993 Wisconsin v. Mitchell, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a “hate speech” law providing enhanced punishments for violent crimes based on racial motives as revealed by speech of the accused, (which would now apply broadly to punish any “anti-gay motives” in the speech of accused pastor “co-conspirators.”) But pastor, if a crazy person in your audience commits a crime against a heterosexual, don’t worry, you’ll get a comparative discount in your prison time.
IS PRAYER IN JESUS’ NAME A “HATE CRIME?”
Any public prayer against the sin of homosexuality could be construed as “inciting violence” by easily offended listeners, especially if those prayers are offered “in Jesus name.” When I served our country as a former Navy Chaplain, for example, I was told in writing by Chief of Chaplains Rear-Admiral Louis Iasiello, that “any chaplain’s continued insistence on ending public prayers ‘in Jesus’ name’…could reasonably tend to denigrate those with different forms of faith.” His policy prohibiting prayers “in Jesus name” was enforced against me at court-martial, before it was later rescinded by Congress in 2006. But this year I’ve already been falsely accused of “inciting violence” because I quoted verbatim from Psalm 109 in my public prayers, (for which secular activist Mikey Weinstein literally requested an FBI investigation against me!) Just imagine more anti-Christian aggression by law enforcement officials AFTER this hate-crimes bill becomes law.

IS PREACHING AGAINST SIN A HATE CRIME?
As a former Navy Chaplain who was punished (in writing, three times) for quoting the Bible in chapel during optionally-attended worship, I know exactly how they’ll come after us. The enemies of religious liberty will simply declare certain gospel phrases “hateful” and “offensive” like my commanding officer who punished me for quoting John 3:36 in chapel, and was supported by government lawyers for “protecting” easily offended listeners from the “offensive” gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX) agrees with me, saying pastors, rabbis, or imams could be charged with encouraging or inducing a “hate crime” if they preach against homosexuality. “Every preacher of the gospel, unless you cut out parts of it; every imam who mentions anything with regard to sexual immorality — they could be pursued, and in other countries they have been,” says Gohmert. (Congressmen Gohmert is my personal advocate, with whom I preached last year at a pro-faith rally in Texas…and we both agree the gospel of freedom from sin really is “love speech” not “hate speech.”)
FREE SPEECH SUPPRESSED IN NORWAY
Hate crimes laws protecting homosexuals from criticism are already silencing pastors in Norway, where these dangerous laws specifically empower law enforcement officials to prosecute “intimidation” of homosexuals. For example, Congressman Gohmert warned “I was talking to a guy from Norway who was telling me that people are even afraid to say Mary was a virgin, because just bringing up sexuality at all can raise problems with law enforcement.”

FREE SPEECH CRIMINALIZED IN SWEDEN
In Sweden, Pastor Ake Green received a one-month jail sentence last year under a Swedish “hate crimes” law that forbids criticism of those who participate in homosexual behavior. The Goeta Appeals Court later overturned the decision. The government demanded the pastor be punished by appealing the case to the Swedish Supreme Court, which ruled the law unconstitutional. Yet here in America, the Reid-Kennedy-Obama trio is pushing to pass and enforce this same type of “anti-free speech” law, despite their acknowledgment that any such enforcement would be unconstitutional in America too. (They why pass the bill in the first place?)
FREE SPEECH CRIMINALIZED IN CANADA
In Canada, where “hate crimes” laws already passed, the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal actively forbid evangelical pastor Stephen Boisson from expressing his moral opposition to homosexuality. The tribunal also ordered Boisson to pay $5,000 “damages for pain and suffering” and apologize to the “human rights” activist who filed the complaint. His crime? In 2002, the pastor wrote a letter to the editor of his local newspaper in which he denounced the homosexual agenda as “wicked” and stated that: “Children as young as five and six years of age are being subjected to psychologically and physiologically damaging pro-homosexual literature and guidance in the public school system; all under the fraudulent guise of equal rights.” The Canadian government tribunal ordered the Christian pastor to “cease publishing in newspapers, by email, on the radio, in public speeches, or on the internet, in future, disparaging remarks about gays and homosexuals.” (This “re-education commission” reminds me of Big Brother from Orwell’s 1984.)
FREE SPEECH CRIMINALIZED IN PENNSYLVANIA
Can’t happen in America? It already has. In 2004 my friend Michael Marcavage was arrested along with ten other Christians (including two elderly grandmothers), and charged with violating Pennsylvania’s “hate crimes” laws, because they carried signs conveying God’s love at a Gay Pride rally. One member of “The Philadelphia Eleven,” Arlene Elshinnawy, 75 year-old grandmother of three, was holding a sign: “Truth is hate to those who hate the truth,” before she was hauled off to jail by police officers. They were literally threatened with 50 years in jail for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ on a public sidewalk, because it offended gays. That hate crimes law was so outrageous it was later found unconstitutional by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, but now Ted Kennedy and Barack Obama want to pass essentially that same discredited law nationwide.

There are studies that show prayer does make a difference. Can we scientifically conclude that prayer makes a difference or it doesn’t? In a scientific experiment, if a variable exists, then it’s completely logical to see a different result. It’s possible this is the case here, it’s just that we can’t physically see the variables. The spiritual health of those being prayed for, or those doing the praying could be just two of the changing conditions that may help produce different results. Just because some things in the Bible or different religions don’t make immediate sense to some, to conclude that all of religion is fantasy and devoid of truth or great understanding is not a scientifically logical conclusion. It is an assumption at best. How many people have even truly looked at several of the many different religions of the Earth? There are many accredited, and well respected men and women of past times and present times, of the East and West, who have offered great insight into the many wonders of Science, Religion, and Spirituality and at the core of existence and truth, they are not separate. In truth, they work as one. There is such a wealth of information out there, many people hold certain views, and they are not looking to change their view regardless of what they encounter. And so, they purposely look for information reinforcing what they already believe, and avoiding the opposite. This includes men/women of science as well. Science through Quantum Physics is starting to deeply penetrate some of the insights revealed by the ageless wisdom expressed by the holy sages throughout history. A book that explains this in great detail is “The Mechanism Demands A Mysticism” by Thomas Brophy Ph.D. Believe me, this is just one of the many books on these topics. I would be one of the first people to tell you there is also a wealth of misguided and deceptive information out there as well. Also, I believe the institutions of many mainstream religions today(Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc.) have missed the essence of what the respective teachers of their religions were trying to help humanity understand. Religion is not supposed to be about a group of rules and restrictions, it’s not about following “laws.” It’s not about exclusivity either. At the core, the teachings of these different religions espouse the same truths. We also have to take into account that, their esoteric mystical cores have been removed or separated. Sufism from Islam, Kabbalism from Judaism, and Gnosticism from Christianity are a few examples of this. These religions(in totality) were designed to create a framework or environment that is conducive to the experiencing of “God”. We are not supposed to follow “God”, we are supposed to experience it. We are supposed to become one with “God.” According to many sages of the Far East, there are several different yogas or ways of uniting with “God.” The kind of devotion and unconditional love preached by Jesus and his disciples is only one of the yogas, only one of the paths of uniting with the divine known as Bhakti Yoga. There is also Swara Yoga(the realization of cosmic consciousness through control and manipulation of breath), Karma Yoga(devoting oneself to the selfless work of the universal source without any emotion or self-identity), Hatha Yoga(practice of detoxifying, purifying and body posturing to free the flow of energy within the body) and Jnana Yoga(the practice of converting intellectual knowledge into practical wisdom and using meditative techniques to achieve illuminating wisdom, self-enquiry and self-realisation), and there are other yogas.

The answers and true insight into who and what we are, our relation to a higher power, and our purpose on this physical plane of existence are out there. Maybe not all the answers, and at first some may not necessarily like the answers found, but for those open-minded and willing to look, what you will find will drastically alter your life in wonderful ways.
