A secret European Union plan to force Ireland to vote again on the Lisbon Treaty emerged yesterday.
French officials have penned an explosive document entitled ‘Solution to the Irish Problem’, in which they say the EU should push Ireland into re-running its referendum next year, opening the way for the treaty to come into force next year.
In return, Europe would offer Dublin a few promises, in a bid to ensure its people vote in favour of the treaty.
Critics say it is almost identical to the EU Constitution, rejected by the French and the Dutch in 2005.
(Article continues below)
Labour promised British voters a referendum on the constitution – but then reneged on their promise when it was re-fashioned as a treaty.
Ireland’s support is vital because the Lisbon Treaty cannot come into force across the EU until all 27 countries have ratified it. Ireland was the only country which gave its voters a referendum.
The leaked document predicts that Ireland will cave in at a meeting of Europe’s leaders next month, and agree to hold a second referendum next Autumn.

We must all support the irish in resisting the EU.
Vote must be NO or we are all in deep doodoo.
Luckely the people of europe know it and have all vote against it so far….keep it up !!

NO MEANS NO, but just like david icke say’s “you can tell when it’s the agenda because it never goes away”
September 13th, 2008 at 7:01 am
Exactly the same as after the ‘No vote’ by the French and Dutch. Go through the motions pretending to be a democratic institution by and for the people, and when the vox populi says no, just ignore it and go ahead with your original plans. And they wonder why the European Union is so very unpopular with the people of Europe.
What is needed is a fundamental overhaul and redesign of the political process in the Western world. It has become corrupted to the core, in large parts thanks to the United States and money.

I live in Ireland, and I think that people are so brainwashed here that they will accept the treaty next time round, unfortunately…

EU is political kissing cousin of military Nato, which is the resuscitation of the Nazis. Adolph, Stalin, Mao, and Churchill would be so pleased. The membership privileges of EU don’t stack up to the prices paid, nor were they meant to. Ireland would be better off to return to her former status of being the niggars of Europe. Only norman irish care to bleed her of her uniqueness, by the age old weapon of unbridled and forced immigration The truly Irish wish to be left in peace. Say hell no, why fight and die for the likes of Saakahvilli types, and why invite unwelcomed strangers to sojourn upon the land. maybe you may visit, but then leave and while you are here, mind your manners. Ireland has survived all these years, but continued EU membership will be a plague upon the land, eventually equal to Cromwellian plague

The Irish are a stubborn Lot, and I will stand with them in saying NO everytime the NWO wants to infect civiliation with more regulations to enslave us
September 14th, 2008 at 8:56 am
Ireland. These NWO imperialist bastards are trying to enslave you again to the fascist EU. I know and hope you vote a big fat NO to these EU imperialists. I know the Irish have a long history of making strong stand against imperialism in all its forms. The NWO is the worst kind in the world today. We must destroy the political construct called the EU, it will be our first major victory against the NWO.

iam an Ulster Protestant and British Nationalist and i totally support my cousins in the republic of ireland on this issue, the eu is trying to bully ireland into accepting an unaccountable superstate were the political elite look down thier noses at the ordinary people. the good people in the Republic of Ireland are voting in proxey for the hundreds of millions of europeans who have been denied a vote by thier own rotten governments.
please, please , please keep the faith and vote no the next timer
September 14th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
I have been watching this issue for a long time. Many think Ireland is a country of village idiots. Ireland is a country of strong, hard headed stock. I pray I reland will stick to their guns and refuse to be bullied for their vote. God bless Ireland

That’s democracy as far as I know it: Allow people to keep voting until they vote the way you want them to.

Precisly about this, for those who are interested :

Evidently, here like everywhere, tv kept silent about it.
If you are worrying about democracy in the US, stop worrying : you are not alone in that case…

A referendum needs to be, in point of fact, voluntary, or else it ceases to bear credibility.
The issue of membership has been heard, and voted upon. So, the existence of a possible “strategy” to circument the referendum, if that is indeed the case, only serves to undermine the credibility of any supra-national organization.

They’re doing this to our kids, and sadly to the masses as well…

What they are planning is to make any vote a yes vote.
They are going to put the vote on just a few issues and if the irish vote no to them they will get an opt-out like construction for those issues. The rest will not be put into the referendum and be ratified.
So no matter what the irish will vote the treaty will be ratified.
September 17th, 2008 at 8:06 am
The Irish should lead the revolution against this blatant and outrageous lawlessness.
The time has come to get nasty with these bastards.
September 17th, 2008 at 1:41 pm
No Surrender-
I respect what you said. Especially because you said who you are. Three Cheers for you , Ireland and it’s people.

Can you imagine a world where Zionist scum did’nt exist, the law was fair and balanced and peoples opinions were respected and valued? I always fantasize about living in such a place.
The sad fact of the matter is everything above is just pure fantasy and nothing more.
I’m from Ireland myself and know the people here did’nt vote NO becuse they did’nt understand the treaty which was the main argument our arse kissing retard government used to explain the No vote to the EU facists. They did’nt tell them the real truth why we voted NO, that we no longer want to have these scumbags interfere in our already complicated lives, that we want to tell them to f*ck off for stealing our natural resources, that we owe them ‘Nothing’ despite what they say otherwise, and that we believe in democracy and not dictatorship where a little cock sucking murderer like Tony Bliar could end up being our president. Irishmen for years have fought against imperialist bastards and we wont stop even if it’s glossed up to make it look like democracy. If this treaty is passed then I’ll piss on the EU flag in public and lose all respect for our spinless, sly government who only care about their pay checks and not the dignity of the Irish people.

Before anyone in Southern Ireland is coerced into ticking any more boxes on this treasonous plot I suggest they watch the following video by an expert and learn just what this monster in Brussels cost us all. In the uk it is £170 billion annually. NEVER…… some might say, that’s preposterous; WATCH AND SEE. Don S

Ireland voted NO! and any effort by the EU to bully the Irish will result in a MUCH bigger NO vote next time. The rest of the peoples of the EU are watching and praying that Ireland remains strong and resolute against this EU dictatorship and votes no and keeps voting no until the Tories win power in the UK and give the British people their say.
If the Tories fail on this promise, then the next Parliament after that will be a hung parliament with power shared between the BNP and the Greens.
People in the UK are very angry and very impatient.
September 19th, 2008 at 4:54 am
If and when EU Monster decides to walk all over the Irish again by disrespecting the very demoracy they are suppose to uphold they will be met with a louder and stronger NO! vote.
for that very reason alone.
