Euro MPs to vote on anonymous blog ban

Euro MPs are preparing to vote on proposals for European Union regulation of blogs with the aim of countering a “dangerous” and unregulated blogosphere.
Marianne Mikko, an Estonian centre-left MEP, is concerned that growing numbers of blogs are being used by individuals with “malicious intentions or hidden agendas”.
“The blogosphere has so far been a haven of good intentions and relatively honest dealing. However, with blogs becoming commonplace, less principled people will want to use them,” she said.

Mrs Mikko has proposed that bloggers should be required to identify themselves and that some popular blogs should come with a declaration of interests.
“We do not need to know the exact identity of bloggers. We need some credentials, a quality mark, a certain disclosure of who is writing and why. We need this to be able to trust and rely on the source,” she said.
Chris Heaton Harris, a British Conservative Euro MP, has rejected any moves to “regulate and restrict independent media sources”.
“Mrs Mikko obviously does not understand that blogs have become the life blood of a vibrant democracy,” he said.

“Declaration of interests”?
Its not like blogs are being broadcast on television or printed in newspapers. People find blogs and read them if they are interested in what the author has to say. By dangerous I think she means counter to state ideology. Some people choose not to disclose their identity online since it can place him or her in danger depending on what they have to write and where exactly it is they live. However they probably want your identity so you’re easier to target when it comes to start ideologically domesticating the intenet; as in making sure no one but pro-state ideology individuals are using blogs to express their views and opinions on issues. Otherwise more and more people might get the crazy idea that not everything their government does is right and that the logic of the said government isn’t actually infallible. Get ready to have your door kicked down for thought crime.

The EU as a bureaucracy is becoming more and more hated every day. With the global awakening people have more of a handle on the EU. It is now seen as a control system for the elite to more easily manipulate and plunder the wealth that is by right the peoples. It is also a a big chunk of what will be the NWO world govt when the other Unions are put in place.
No right minded person would complain about a world govt that was answerable and fair to the worlds citizens. Just look to America to see a watered down, tempered mini version of what we will get. I dont mind the principle behind one world govt. Its the diabolical bastards who taking us there that bothers me. Murderous, thieving scum answerable to no one. At least for the present outside of the US we can still hold leaders accountable. America is f*****. Thats their business to sort out. Right now Id trust the Russian govt before the American one. A country should be no larger than at max. a group of under 100 loosely cooperating, competing local counties, wherein we know, hire & fire our localized bureaucrats whom all live nearby (& who are each actually net-productive ~ or fired!) And it should be installed by yearly revolving board-supervised, one year long tender (under a jury-picked style assemblage,) & modelled after “Govt Inc.”, driven by the “keep-’em honest” free-market natural incentive dynamics of profit ~ to operate only: (1.) objective, natural-law & property rights based civil & criminal judiciary, (2.) competing commercial, performance-based, crime preventive-focused community beat constabularies, & (3.) administer a well-equipped, voluntary armed forces.
I expect many may think this is too radical, & unaccountable, but how’s all that bogus politics “representative big gov’t” been going for U to date? I’d rather hire a competent, successful business person to honestly compete for the very limited, accountable opportunity any day. In fact, no self-made, competent, self-directed, self-esteemed, self-led entrepreneur would EVER voluntarily require the services of ANY fat-cat, all-career-sitting, ‘inflatulatory’, lazy, envious politician.
The best hope for us here in have-not Nova Scotialism, in today’s East Red Canaduh, is the evolving anarcho-capitalist concept known as the Republic of “Atlantica.” Please Google that & spread the message.
Meantime, if on Nov. 4, y’all in the USSA aren’t going to be using Dr. Ron (Uncle Sam) Paul & the old discarded tiny gov. Constitution & the Declaration, then we could sure use ‘em here.

I think that control freaks from behind the iron curtain have problems with all unregulated, free aspects of life, it is culturally difficult for them to get used to this. She should be pleased, not whining on about the Net.
Everybody blogging has an agenda – hidden or not , and it soon becomes apparent when you read it! She wants to turn the Net into a sort of encyclopedia mixed with a yellow pages.
Anyway she is wrong. Under sections like “view my profile” “about me” and “interests” etc. people do tend to talk about what the blog is for and their views.
I bet she does not use the Internet herself!
