SAN FRANCISCO — So-called “global warming” has shrunk from problem to punch line. And now, Leftists are laughing, too. It’s hard not to chuckle at the idea of Earth boiling in a carbon cauldron when the news won’t cooperate:
- Nearly four inches of snow blanketed the United Arab Emirates’ Jebel Jais region for just the second time in recorded history on Jan. 24. Citizens were speechless. The local dialect has no word for snowfall.
- Dutchmen on ice skates sped past windmills as canals in Holland froze in mid-January for the first time since 1997. Defense Minister Eimert van Middelkoop, who inhabits a renovated 17th Century windmill, stumbled on the ice and fractured his wrist.
- January saw northern Minnesota’s temperatures plunge to 38 below zero, forcing ski-resort closures. A Frazee, Minnesota dog-sled race was cancelled, due to excessive snow. Snow whitened Surf City, North Carolina’s beaches. Days ago, ice glazed Florida’s citrus groves.
As Earth faces global cooling, both troglodyte right-wingers and lachrymose left-wingers find Albert Gore’s simmering-planet hypothesis increasingly hilarious:
“In terms of (global warming’s) capacity to cause the human species harm, I don’t think it makes it into the top 10,” Dr. Robert Giegengack, former chairman of University of Pennsylvania’s Earth and Environmental Sciences Department, told the Pennsylvania Gazette. Giegengack voted for Gore in 2000, and says he likely would again.

Commentator Harold Ambler declared Jan. 3 on HuffingtonPost.com that he voted for Barack Obama “for a thousand times a thousand reasons.” He added that Gore “owes the world an apology for his actions regarding global warming.” He called Gore’s assertion that “the science is in” on this issue “the biggest whopper ever sold to the public in the history of mankind.”
“Not only is it false that human activity has any significant effect on global warming or the weather in general, but for the record, global warming is over,” retired Navy meteorologist Dr. Martin Hertzberg wrote on carbon-sense.com. The physical chemist and self-described “scientist and life-long liberal Democrat” added: “The average temperature of Earth’s atmosphere has declined over the last 10 years. From the El Nino Year of 1998 until Jan. 2007, it dropped a quarter of a degree Celsius (0.45 degrees Fahrenheit). From Jan 2007 to the spring of 2008, it dropped a whopping three-quarters of a degree Celsius (1.35 degrees Fahrenheit). Those data further prove that the fear-mongering hysteria about human-caused global warming is completely unjustified and is totally counterproductive to our Nation’s essential needs and security.”

Timothy Ball is no wishy-washy skeptic of global warming. The Canadian climatologist, who has a Ph.D. in climatology from the University of London and taught at the University of Winnipeg for 28 years, says that the widely propagated “fact” that humans are contributing to global warming is the “greatest deception in the history of science.”
WASHINGTON, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — A new analysis of peer-reviewed literature reveals that more than 500 scientists have published evidence refuting at least one element of current man-made global warming scares. More than 300 of the scientists found evidence that 1) a natural moderate 1,500-year climate cycle has produced more than a dozen global warmings similar to ours since the last Ice Age and/or that 2) our Modern Warming is linked strongly to variations in the sun’s irradiance. “This data and the list of scientists make a mockery of recent claims that a scientific consensus blames humans as the primary cause of global temperature increases since 1850,” said Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Dennis Avery.

You’re right! He is a bought and sold denier. Tim Ball is beholden to the reich-wing American Enterprise Institute. He and fellow “scientists” were paid with the expressed intent that they counter the IPCC report due to be released in 2007

At this point, the science and anecdotal evidence supporting or refuting “global warming” is irrelevant. It has become a tool for governments around the world to tax and control their citizens. That’s why Mr. Bore clings so fervently to his position, because he’s one of the elites seeking to control the rest of us.

As a result of careful negotiations way back in 1993 before “carbon emission” was a household word China and India were named carbon exempt. Well the financial houses of the western world responded with an orgasm, funding an unprecedented industrial gold rush. We end up getting products contaminated with toxic substances from a country which has a black market for human organs from political prisoners. Stellar moral ground here huh.

Perhaps we should be looking at averages over thousands and tens of thousands of years rather than averages over one an ten years. I say the evidence is still out on the legitimacy of global warming and climate change. I feel that the majority of the research has been politically motivated in order to accomplish one agenda or another.
Look at was the hardcore scientists are saying, look at the daily research coming in, look at who is funding this research and look for their political connections. This is just another game of connect the dots people. Don’t stop here at Prison Planet and think its the end all of knowledge because I can tell you it is NOT.

Have you ever been to China or India – I have, you want to talk about pollution.. China pumps out massive amounts CO2, sulpher dioxide and soot by burning low grade domestic and Australian coal to run its manufacturing industry to supply crap to rest of the planet yet no media coverage – oh no its Europe and the US. There is a huge area of the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and Japan that is littered with plastic garbage and most damaging are disposable plastic lighters that larger fish eat – Japan Korea China Russia thanks. Most of the large fish in ocean have gone because of over fishing by the Japanese and the popularity of sushi now in the western world – oh sushi is so cool…. – oh those polite hard working Japanese environmental vandals but media coverage – you just get the mush and gush about robots, cars and bullet trains. Each year large areas of the tropical rain forests are cut down by desperate farmers trying to eek a living in South America. We have thousands of tons of depleted uranium scattered around the Middle East by the Bush war criminals – check out the half-life of U-238 – no media exposure why ?. We have Thimerasol in vaccines, Aids and SARS straight out of bio weapons labs, AIDS to kill the Africans and SARS to kill the Asians, strange SARS appeared straight after 9/11 2001. Nuclear reactors producing waste that will need to be stored for 10’s of thousands of years.
Yet what does corporate media tell us to worry about – right global warming and our carbon footprint…??? – its junk science and we are not buying it. There are real serious environmental problems as noted above but the global warming agenda is just a distraction from and a means to fearmonger and tax world population.
No evidence of temperature rise in the Tropopause, Troposphere, Ozone and Stratosphere which the global warming theory predicts – its junk science. The biggest greenhouse gas is water vapor – clouds.
What next – tax on heavy breathers – ha ha ha…

By the way, I have been to Suzhou and Shanghai. When I showed Chinese locals photos of my family and home, they thought I altered the photo to enhance the blue sky. I explained that my neighborhood, near O’Hare airport, in the 1970’s had orange/brown skies dirtier than theirs.
They know they have a problem and are just now beginning to address it. As much as we would have liked China to have learned through vicarious experience and by-passed our pollution problems, they decided to figure things out for themselves.
All new construction apartments in Shanghai feature solar thermal water heaters. Suzhou prohibits 2-cycle gasoline engines within the city limits. Because electric motorscooter have become the premier transportation, businesses are required to provide charging stations for all of their employees – essentially dozens of blocks of outlets into which transformers and removable battery packs are plugged-in. Have you ever tried to locate an electric motorscooter dealer here in the States?
They also have a pretty fair idea about co-generation in China as well. Waste steam from the coal-fed power plants is piped to thousands of homes and businesses within a few miles of the plant.
We could certainly make good use of some of their ideas as well.
