On Thursday, the Mockingbird corporate media operative Keith Olbermann played the race card (again) to demonize the Tea Party movement. Olbermann had the limousine liberal Arianna Huffington on his show. Huffington said the First Amendment does not protect people who shout fire in a crowded theater. Huffington said racist “teabaggers,” led by Fox News’ Glenn Beck, are shouting fire.

Huffington and Olbermann did not provide any evidence. Instead, they cited the same old tired propaganda issued by the ADL. “Beck has made a habit of demonizing President Obama and promoting conspiracy theories about his administration,” an ADL report clams. Beck “has even gone so far as to make comparisons between Hitler and Obama and to promote the idea that the president is dangerous.” Olbermann rolled a clip of Beck claiming Obama has a problem with white people to supposedly make the point.

Beck “repeatedly stokes the fires of anti-government anger” by providing a platform for people opposed to the government, according to the ADL.

In fact, this anti-government anger — characterized as racist and dangerous by Olbermann and Huffington — would exist with or without Glenn Beck. Millions of people would oppose health care at gunpoint and the Federal Reserve without Beck.

Glenn Beck and Keith Olbermann are birds of a feather — Mockingbird operatives tasked with demonizing and delegitimatizing the opposition. Beck is on one side of the false right-left paradigm and Olbermann and his sidekick Huffington are on the other. Olbermann steers the left into a futile process of spinning wheels and Beck commandeers the so-called right.

Instead of attacking the bankers, Beck attacks the “Marxists” of the Obama administration, as if former members of the Federal Reserve and Goldman Sachs are Marxists. Olbermann, on the other hand, attacks the “racists” and supposedly violence-prone right, a fiction created by the corporate media and the government with the help of the ADL.

Now that it looks like Ron Paul’s audit the Fed effort will pass and become law, it is imperative that the government and its controlled media attack the anti-government Tea Party and patriot movements and attempt to demonize them as dangerous and potentially violent radicals, never mind there is scant evidence of racism or calls for violent revolution.

Olbermann’s handlers want to impose censorship on the Tea Party and patriot movements. In order to do that, these movements and millions of Americans need to be demonized as violent and racist.

The CDC now reports that nearly 4,000 Americans have been killed by H1N1 swine flu. This number is supposed to sound big and scary, motivating millions of people to go out and pay good money to be injected with untested, unproven H1N1 vaccines. But let’s put the number in perspective: Did you know that more than four times as many people are killed each year by common NSAID painkillers like aspirin?

The July 1998 issue of The American Journal of Medicine explains it as follows:

“Conservative calculations estimate that approximately 107,000 patients are hospitalized annually for nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)-related gastrointestinal (GI) complications and at least 16,500 NSAID-related deaths occur each year among arthritis patients alone.” (Singh Gurkirpal, MD, “Recent Considerations in Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug Gastropathy”, The American Journal of Medicine, July 27, 1998, p. 31S)

So for every person the CDC claims was killed by H1N1 swine flu this year, common painkillers like aspirin have killed four! Yet you don’t see the CDC, FDA, WHO or mainstream media running around screaming about the extreme dangers of aspirin, do you? All those deaths apparently don’t matter. Only swine flu deaths lead to hysteria.

Understanding risk

According to death statistics tables available on the ‘net, you are ten times more likely to die in a car accident this year than be killed by swine flu.

Nearly 100,000 Americans die every year from adverse reactions to FDA-approved prescription drugs. That’s twenty-five times the number of people killed by H1N1 swine flu (even if you believe the CDC’s numbers). So where’s the big warning about the dangers of prescription drugs? Why isn’t the CDC warning Americans about an “epidemic of dangerous drugs” that poses a far greater threat to your health?

The answer, of course, is that health authorities want to push people to buy vaccines that are about to become worthless (they’re only good before swine flu fizzles out). And the only way to sell more vaccines to people who don’t need them is to hype up a bunch of scare stories by citing bold statistics that make H1N1 swine flu seem really, really dangerous.

But the flu is no more dangerous than aspirin. In fact, H1N1 swine flu may be safer than aspirin.

Here’s another quote from the New England Journal of Medicine:

“It has been estimated conservatively that 16,500 NSAID-related deaths occur among patients with rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis every year in the United States. This figure is similar to the number of deaths from the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome and considerably greater than the number of deaths from multiple myeloma, asthma, cervical cancer, or Hodgkin’s disease. If deaths from gastrointestinal toxic effects from NSAIDs were tabulated separately in the National Vital Statistics reports, these effects would constitute the 15th most common cause of death in the United States. Yet these toxic effects remain mainly a “silent epidemic,” with many physicians and most patients unaware of the magnitude of the problem. Furthermore the mortality statistics do not include deaths ascribed to the use of over-the-counter NSAIDS.” (Wolfe M. MD, Lichtenstein D. MD, and Singh Gurkirpal, MD, “Gastrointestinal Toxicity of Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs”, The New England Journal of Medicine, June 17, 1999, Vol. 340, No. 24, pp. 1888-1889.)

Did you catch that? The 16,500 figure for deaths each year doesn’t even include over-the-counter painkiller drugs! If you add in those numbers, you’re probably looking at something closer to 40,000 Americans kills each year by these drugs. And that makes these drugs 1000% more deadly than swine flu (because 40,000 is ten times greater than 4,000).

Swine flu vs. seasonal flu

Also according to CDC statistics, swine flu is only approximately one-tenth as dangerous as regular seasonal flu. That’s because the CDC maintains that seasonal flu kills 36,000 Americans each year (a figure that I’ve already pointed out is highly suspect, but that’s what they claim).

But even seasonal flu is nothing to get all worked up over. Unless you’re in a state of terrible health with a compromised immune system, obesity and asthma, beating seasonal flu is a no-brainer: Just nourish your body with vitamin D, zinc, superfoods and natural health supplements and let your built-in immune technology do its job. Your immune system has already saved your life countless times. It knows how to do it if you give it the right nutrition.

There are lots of things that are far more dangerous than swine flu and yet are openly sold to consumers. Over 400,000 Americans die each year from smoking and yet you can buy cigarettes at Walgreens, Wal-Mart and CVS pharmacies. That means statistically, these pharmacies knowingly sell a product that kills 400 times as many people as swine flu has this year. Where’s the alarm about the epidemic of tobacco-related deaths? Nowhere. Not a word from the CDC or WHO.

Also, if pharmacies really cared about your health, why do they openly sell a product that causes cancer and heart disease? Think about it…

They’re just trying to sell you something that will harm you

The fact is, pharmacies will sell anything that makes money: Tobacco, processed junk food, and of course H1N1 vaccines. If they could make money selling influenza, they’d sell that, too. To the pharmaceutical retailers, it doesn’t matter how many people die from the products they sell. They’re just in business to sell anything that turns a profit, regardless of the consequences to public health.

And the vaccine industry is similarly motivated to sell you false ideas that make money. By selling you on the concept that swine flu is extremely dangerous, they can manipulate you into buying yet more harmful stuff they’re hawking at pharmacies… like H1N1 vaccines. And they’re counting on the fact that the American people won’t do the math (or can’t).

Most people have a very poor understanding of risk, and the vaccine industry is counting on precisely that risk assessment ineptitude to push its dangerous vaccines. If people knew that they are 40 times more likely to be struck by lightning than to have their life saved by a swine flu vaccine, very few would line up to be injected with one. But they don’t grasp the difference between numbers that are very far apart such as 10^2 versus 10^5. To many people, those factors are “about the same” and it’s worth getting injected with a vaccine “just in case.”

That’s why I’ve always stated a simple truth that still holds true today: People who seek out vaccine shots are the same kind of people who regularly play the lotto. Both decisions demonstrate a complete lack of understanding risk vs. reward. In fact, if you get a swine flu vaccine injection on the same day you buy a lotto ticket, you have a greater chance of buying a winning lotto ticket than being saved by the swine flu vaccine.

Playing the lotto is actually smarter than getting a swine flu vaccine shot. Plus, the lotto ticket won’t potentially cause neurological damage that puts you in a coma or causes the spontaneous abortion of your baby — both of which have been happening to people after receiving H1N1 vaccine shots.

Gold prices scaled historic heights above $1,150 per ounce this week, buoyed by the weak greenback and recent central bank purchases of the precious metal, analysts said.

Traders said the dollar’s overall weak tone was due to the prospect of US interest rates remaining close to zero for some time yet.

PRECIOUS METALS: Gold hit an all-time peak at $1,152.85 an ounce on Wednesday, extending this year’s record-breaking run.

“The price of gold moved further north as the dollar’s decline continued,” said analyst Marius Paun at ODL Markets.

“Whilst the US Federal Reserve continues to reiterate that interest rates will remain low, investors appear willing to buy in the precious metal.”

After yesterday’s debacle for the Fed, could even more grey clouds be gathering for the Chairman? As readers will recall Alan Grayson recently presented several questions, the response to which would serve as a gating factor to Bernanke’s reconfirmation. Alas, that initiative never appeared to get much traction. In fact upon questioning Chris Dodd said that Bernanke’s confirmation was a done deal.

“I’ve indicated I want to be supportive. I think Ben Bernanke’s done a very good job, particularly in the last year or so. I think that view is embraced by a lot of people,” said Dodd, a Democrat.

“The chairman’s not going anywhere,” Dodd said.

Yet a recent interview by Mike Stark indicates that Mr. Dodd may have had a change of heart about the certainty of Mr. Bernanke’s tenure, and is now voicing much less certainty about the continued tenure of the fiat money printer.

As the clip demonstrates, Dodd may be reeling under increasing Main Street pressure to not seem like the Fed puppet that Mr. Barney Frank has disclosed himself to be.

As a reminder Frank stated the following: ““It’s going to be seen as weakening the independence of monetary policy with consequent negative implications. People are going to be worried about the impact on the dollar, on the interest rate.” Of course, in reality there is absolutely nothing factual contained in Frank’s statement, which is merely another escalation of the Mutual Assured Destruction doctrine, so well practiced by Wall Street, and finally getting adopted by Washington. Should the final Paul-Grayson bill pass in its current form, we expect nothing less than a resignation by Mr. Frank, followed hopefully by the resignations of his “supervisors”, Mr. Geithner and Mr. Bernanke.

In the meantime, keep an eye out on future commentaries by Dodd and other members of our ruling “elite” vis-a-vis Bernanke and the Fed. If yesterday is any indication, the opposition of the majority of the public’s opinion, especially if its finally bears fruit in a Fed transparency outcome, will be equivalent to political suicide for all those who have been supporting the Fed’s desire to maintain its unprecedented secrecy.

Neo-Con talk show host Rush Limbaugh has sensationally censored any mention of Prison Planet.com from his own transcript archives after he discussed a story we had posted yesterday about Al Gore using Photoshop to insert fake hurricanes into the cover of his new book on global warming.

The original transcript posted on Limbaugh’s website accurately carried the statements he made on his show yesterday, which included the words, “And the website where this is taken place is PrisonPlanet.com.”

The transcript page also featured an image of Limbaugh with a screenshot of the Prison Planet logo behind him.

However, both the Prison Planet logo and Limbaugh’s mention of the website, owned by Texas radio host Alex Jones, have since been “memory-holed” from the Limbaugh archives.

Limbaugh originally featured a huge link at the top of his website to Prison Planet, but all links have now been deleted from the archives.

In the new version of the transcript, the words, “And the website where this is taken place is PrisonPlanet.com,” have been culled, despite the fact Limbaugh clearly said them, as can be verified via the You Tube clip at the bottom of this page.

Any links to the Prison Planet.com story, which were prominently featured all over Limbaugh’s website, have also been deleted and replaced with a similar story by Newsbusters, a Neo-Con news website.

What caused Limbaugh to order the material removed? Our guess is that he was probably bombarded with e mails from the legions of virulently retarded Neo-Cons that make up the audience of phony right-wing websites like Free Republic, on which all Alex Jones material is aggressively banned.

It’s highly unlikely that Limbaugh ordered his webmaster to link to Prison Planet.com by mistake, he knows who we are because he’s attacked us on several occasions before. But any hopes that Limbaugh may be abandoning his Neo-Con base and coming across to the Ron Paul/Libertarian perspective appear to be dashed.

As one of our forum members put it, “I knew I was too optimistic to think that Limbaugh may have had a conscience.”

Establishment efforts to kill move toward Fed transparency are crushed

The Federal Reserve attack dogs are out in full force today following Congressman Ron Paul’s decisive victory in the battle to bring transparency to the privately owned central bank.

The House Financial Services Committee passed the amendment to increase Federal Reserve transparency in an overwhelming and bipartisan vote of 43 to 26.

The amendment, sponsored by Ron Paul and Democratic Representative Alan Grayson, mandates a genuine and full probing audit of the Fed.

The Committee rejected the parallel amendment introduced by Congressman Mel Watt (D-NC) which would have severely limited the audit, “gutting” Ron Paul’s H.R. 1207 bill as the Congressman put it, and paving the way for further Fed secrecy.

Key Committee Democrats such as Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) who had previously expressed support for an audit, had moved behind the Watt amendment at the behest of banking industry and Fed officials, as well as the Democratic leadership.

Had the alternative provision passed, those individuals would have succeeded in appearing to support transparency while actually protecting the Fed from any real examination.

The success is significant because it proves beyond doubt that there is true bipartisan support for H.R. 1207. Barney Frank had pushed for a no vote on the Paul/Grayson amendment, but 15 Democrats defied him to vote with Ron Paul.

The vote acknowledges the fact that representatives on both sides of the political spectrum are sick to the back teeth of the the incessant pillaging of America’s economic security by a handful of financial elites who have bought and paid for the leadership of both parties.

The power the Fed now holds has vastly increased over the past twelve months owing to the fall out of the financial crisis, yet it continues to operate in total secrecy. Its chairman and other officials act as if their unfettered power is a god given right, and they express loathing and contempt when they are simply asked to describe and explain their actions to Congress and the American people.

The establishment was forced to move against the tide of momentum to audit the Fed by introducing it’s own watered down legislation. However, they acted too late and they have been thoroughly crushed.

“Today was Waterloo for Fed secrecy,” a victorious Grayson noted following the vote.

“We are happy to see the Financial Services Committee preserve a measure to bring true Fed transparency,” said John Tate, President of Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty. “This amendment helps to ensure that real and complete audit legislation remains unaltered, and from here on out we will continue to push for a standalone floor vote of H.R. 1207.”

In addition, a further bill sponsored by Grayson and Paul also passed – this requires written concurrence by the Treasury Secretary prior to the Fed engaging in a foreign currency swap.

Predictably, in response to this victory, the Fed has come out in force in today’s press with former chairmen Alan Greenspan and Paul Volcker, along with former vice chairman Alan S. Blinder all penning attack pieces about how harmful the move to audit the Fed remains.

While Binder’s piece appeared in the Washington Post, Greenspan and Volcker sent their letter to the Financial Committee’s chairman and ranking Republicans.

Knowing that the tired counter of “this is harmful to the Fed’s independence” would be wheeled out again, Ron Paul addressed his detractors on the issue during the hearings yesterday, making it clear that the argument holds no weight, noting that H.R. 1207 and the amendment are not about regulation of the Federal Reserve, the powers it holds or political influence on monetary policy.

“‘Independence’ means secrecy, it doesn’t mean anything else.” Paul noted.

“We live in an age where the American people are sick and tired of this. They are sick and tired of secret government and government out of control and Congress passing TARP funds and on and on with nobody knowing what happened.” the Congressman asserted.

Thanks to your quick action in contacting Congress, the House Financial Services Committee earlier today rejected Representative Mel Watt’s attempt to hijack Audit the Fed by voting 43-26 to pass Ron Paul’s amendment to the financial regulatory reform bill.

Dr. Paul called me right after the vote to personally express his thanks to C4L members for all of your efforts!

It is an incredible testament to the growing power of the liberty movement that we were able to get such an audit passed by a major House committee, but this is by no means the end of our fight.

Financial Services leadership has seemed determined for several months that if an audit of the Fed were to get out of Committee, it should be attached to an overall regulatory reform package that would actually increase the powers of the Fed to interfere in our economy.

Congressman Paul’s amendment gives the Government Accountability Office power to conduct a thorough audit of the Fed’s entire $2 trillion balance sheet and replaces the Watt language that would have further restricted GAO audits of the Federal Reserve.

While this is a victory over an attempted hijacking of our cause, the audit authority is still being rolled into the Financial Stability Improvement Act, a bill that Campaign for Liberty will oppose.

This Act will be voted on as soon as the Committee returns from its Thanksgiving break, and we will then know if it will move to the floor.

And it’s already becoming clear that Ron Paul’s amendment may face challenges on the House floor.

Now is the time to turn up the pressure!

Keep contacting Congress and tell your representative that before Congress debates over giving the Fed any new powers, we need to know what they’re doing with the ones they already have!

Urge your representative to support a standalone, up or down vote on Audit the Fed, H.R. 1207.

We’ve put too much work into this effort to see an audit bogged down in yet another Washington bureaucratic nightmare.

Make no mistake, though, the victory today proved we can get the votes to pass the thorough, historic audit we’ve been fighting for this past year. We have put the Federal Reserve on notice that the freedom movement is serious about reclaiming our country and that it is here to stay.

Scientists in Norway announced Friday they had detected a mutated form of the swine flu virus in two patients who died of the flu and a third who was severely ill.

In a statement, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health said the mutation “could possibly make the virus more prone to infect deeper in the airways and thus cause more severe disease,” such as pneumonia.

The institute said there was no indication that the mutation would hinder the ability of the vaccine to protect people from becoming infected or impair the effectiveness of antiviral drugs in treating people who became infected.

Scientists have analyzed about 70 viruses from confirmed Norwegian swine flu cases and found the mutation in only those three patients, Geir Stene-Larsen, the institute’s director general, said in the statement.

“Based on what we know so far, it seems that the mutated virus does not circulate in the population, but might be a result of spontaneous changes which have occurred in these three patients,” the statement said.

A top U.S. health official said the mutation was no reason for alarm. The same mutation has been detected elsewhere in the world, including possibly in the United States, in both severe and mild cases.

President Obama’s job approval numbers will dip below 50% for the first time today in Gallup’s daily tracking poll, according to a Gallup official.

“Gallup Daily tracking results just in. Obama will be below 50% for the first time when we update our numbers at 1:00 p.m.,” wrote Gallup.com managing news editor Lymari Morales on Twitter.

His approval numbers have bounced down to the 50% mark several times, driven by weaker support from independents and Republicans, but hadn’t crossed it.

UPDATE: The Gallup data is now online. Gallup notes that Obama fell below 50% at almost the exact same mark in his presidency that Reagan did, and attributes the drop — most of which took place over the summer — to the economy and to the health care debate.
