Firefighters have contained a flash fire that broke out on the 88th floor of 1 World Trade Center Wednesday morning, fire officials said.

FDNY Battalion Chief Kevin Brennan says welding equipment on the floor caught on fire just before 7:45 a.m. The fire was contained to the equipment and did not spread to the walls or floor, Brennan said.

About 12 workers were on the 88th floor when the equipment caught fire. As a precaution, the FDNY issued a call for all hands on deck and 100 firefighters responded, Brennan said. The fire was brought under control by 8:40 a.m.

No injuries were reported. Authorities shut down some streets, including Vesey Street and the area west of Greenwich Street, to assist the investigation. All street closures had been lifted by 9:30 a.m.
