Watts Up With That?
Thursday, July 9, 2009
Temperatures dropped to a record low in Prince Edward Island overnight Tuesday, with reports of frost throughout the province.
An official record low of 3.8 C was set early Wednesday morning at Charlottetown airport.
The previous record for that date was 5.1 C, set in 2005.
Bob Robichaud, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, said that to his knowledge, frost has never been reported before in July in P.E.I.
(ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW)
“That 3.8 we got last night kind of sticks out as being lower than some of the other records for anytime in early July,” Robichaud told CBC News on Wednesday.
“So we’re looking at a significant event,” he said.
Environment Canada has issued a frost risk warning in low-lying areas of the province for Wednesday night. The temperature is expected to dip to 4 C.
The forecast for Thursday, however, calls for sunny skies and a temperature of 22 C for the province.

I live in St. Paul, MN and we had 1 day this summer when it hit 90F. The rest of the summer we have had temperatures in the 60’s-70’s with maybe 5 days in the 80’s. Our regular temperature this time if year is mid80’s-mid90’s.
Not that I’m complaining. It’s nice to sleep with the windows open and not have run the AC.
Now I am truly convinced of global warming LOL!

It is freezing in Quebec. Thunder storms almost daily and weather lows in the 50’s!
It’s the solar minimum. I bet it will heat up again when the solar flares get going. Then they will scream global warming once more. That’s my prediction.

The new definition for the word, “normal:”
disordered, bizarre, strange, abnormal, unique, catastrophic, out-of-whack, out of alignment, broken.

perfect day. . . .definately global warming
no snow in winter. . .global warming
lots of snow in winter. . .global warming
Ok I’m starting to see a pattern taking shape here.

2 interesting books I came across Kym stanley Robinson 50 Degrees below, and an oldish one called the Sixth Winter. both I consider important to read. In normal long cycles we are due for cold, not hot. and yes cold can be very dry. Guess I wont be round to see it all, but will be interesting for someone to say…I told you so!

I was in PEI last week and it was cold. An interesting thing as an amature gardener my spinach is going to seed already. Now that is weird. Didn’t even become a big plant as usual.

Odd, my spinach has gone to seed already too. I am in New Brunswick (province immediately West of PEI), and we had a frost warning last night.

July 9th, 2009 at 7:55 am
@used to be a proud brit
Just to reiterate, the UK media really was going crazy over us having a ‘heat wave’.
All sorts of warnings and propaganda was being served up!
And as for your name, I think it applies to every British person that has finally opened their eyes.
Our sense of community and sovereignty has definitely been stamped out!

History channel is running all sorts of global warming specials to get the cap and trade passed.

All this was inspired by the principle–which is quite true in itself–that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.

You know I’m not sure that Hitler was endorcing the big lie principle there, he was just explaning what it was. All we ever hear is Hitler, Hitler, Hitler. I’m not pro-Hitler but I’m sick of hearing about him. It’s a fucking cliche.

The climate IS changing, AJ likes to talk about the frog in boiling water, well most of you are the frog.
I agree, Al gore is full of shit and using psuedo science and half truths.
I agree, man is NOT the sole, or biggest, factor involved.
I agree, cap and trade and carbon taxes won’t fix ANYTHING
But that’s where i stop agreeing.
Man DOES have an impact on the environment, and it’s the ONLY variable we have any control over.
The summers here (I’m in N.B.) which in that image is to the left of PEI, and the summers here have been getting dramatically hotter, and the winters dramatically more violent.

It won’t matter when nukes hit everywhere and a layer of nuclear pollution blankets the atmosphere. That should counteract the global warming, don’t ya think?

I love the cold..bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

END THE FED so when is Ron going to ask us to march on DC. I need to reserve my airline ticket…
July 9th, 2009 at 2:59 pm
Global warming is happening. Haven’t you ever heard of an ice age? We aren’t in one now are we? The thing is, people have nothing to do with it. The world changes on it’s own. Not to say we need to trash the planet, but these enviro nuts need to get the hell out of the way and let people be. Most good people take care of this planet on there own without all the hoopla.
July 9th, 2009 at 7:17 pm
STOP talking about Global Warming…
They’re calling it CLIMATE CHANGE now!!!!
That covers ALL the bases FFS!!

Alex and J Bermas use the fack that we exhale co2 and tress breath it as an excuse to write of the fact they we may be tipping the scale and disrupting the harmony within Nature. We are an intricate part of Nature without it we whould not be here or survive on this unique blue planet. If you do not realize your connection to Mother Nature then I would say to take another deep hard look at what you are and how your life is possible on Earth.Obviously co2 is here already on the planet, people know that…but just like if we had a glass full with water and you pour excess water into the glass it will overflow. Nature has a balance, I’m not saying that what the politicians agenda’s are is the truth but its very obvious that if we contniue to live out of balance with Mother Nature we will not survive on the planet NWO or not.

When my (at the time) 9-year old son and I saw the movie “The Day After Tomorrow,” we walked out of the theater into the balmy, Erie, PA, July temperature of 68 F. I asked him, “If we had another ice age, would Erie notice?” I later learned that if another ice age were to occur, we would see snow as early as October (I don’t remember ever having an October without snow), and summer temperatures would be in the 50’s and 60’s. As I sit here on July 13 with temps in the 40’s, I think, watch out for cartoon mamoths and sloths.
