Glenn Beck Mentions FEMA Camps on Fox & Friends

Continuing his assigned role as corporate media siren of the apocalypse, Glenn Beck interrupted a discussion on Russia and Iran last night on Fox & Friends to mention a heretofore no-no for national television — FEMA camps. At two minutes into the video below, Beck declares he attempted to “debunk these FEMAS camps” because he is “tired of hearing about them,” but was unable to do so. “We now for several days have done research on them… I can’t debunk them.” Beck follows this with a declaration that the United States may be headed for totalitarianism.
The existence of FEMA detention camps is a well-documented fact. In January 2006, Haliburton subsidiary KBR announced that it had been awarded a $385 million contract to construct the camps for the Department of Homeland Security. In a press release issued on January 24, 2006, KBR said the “contract, which is effective immediately, provides for establishing temporary detention and processing capabilities to augment existing ICE Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) Program facilities in the event of an emergency influx of immigrants into the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs.”
The possibility of an influx of illegal aliens, however, is a cover for the real purpose of the camps — to detain American citizens after a declaration of martial law. In 1984, the government created REX-84, an emergency response program involving the implementation of martial law and the arrest and detainment of certain segments of the population. REX-84 was mentioned during the Iran-Contra hearings and publicly exposed by the Miami Herald on Sunday July 5th, 1987. REX-84 dovetailed with Operation Garden Plot, a United States Army and National Guard program under control of the U.S. Northern Command to provide Federal military support during domestic civil disturbances (see US FEMA Camps, Global Research, January 10, 2008)
On May 9, 2007 George Bush reasserted the role of the government during a declared emergency by issuing Executive Order NSPD 51/ HSPD-20, stating that in the event of a “catastrophic emergency” all “national essential functions” may be taken over by the Executive branch of government and the Department of Homeland Security, including FEMA.
In October of 2006, Congress passed the Military Commissions Act, legislation allowing the government to detain citizens deemed “enemy combatants” and hold them indefinitely without charge and independently of the judiciary. The act was upheld by the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in 2003.
“Citizens who are concerned about the purpose and potential use of the detainment camps have documented and, when possible, filmed the detainment facilities,” writes the Geopolitical Monitor. “A current estimate of the number of detainment camps is over 800 located in all regions of the United States with varying maximum capacities. If one includes government buildings currently used for other purposes the number is far greater. Video of renovated but empty detainment camps has also been released” (see Friends of Liberty FEMA Concentration Camps: Locations and Executive Orders).

On September 11, 2005, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, I wrote for Global Research:
It appears Hurricane Katrina has provided FEMA with an excuse to “dry run” its unconstitutional powers in New Orleans, rounding up “refugees” (now called “evacuees”) and “relocating” them in various camps. “Some evacuees are being treated as ‘internees’ by FEMA,” writes former NSC employee Wayne Madsen. “Reports continue to come into WMR that evacuees from New Orleans and Acadiana [the traditional twenty-two parish Cajun homeland] who have been scattered across the United States are being treated as ‘internees’ and not dislocated American citizens from a catastrophe. Some FEMA facilities are preventing these internees from leaving on their own. Reports of mandatory registration and the issuing of FEMA ID cards suggest that FEMA, an agency that is rife with right-wing security goons and severely lacking in humanitarian workers, has other motives in treating poor and destitute American citizens as prisoners in their own country.” Call it REX-84 revisited.
For those who may have difficulty believing the government would actually suspend the Constitution, impose martial law, and round-up citizens, consider Bush era memos issued by the Justice Department. “The Justice Department secretly authorized President George Bush to use the military inside the United States to snoop on, raid and even kill citizens in order to fight terrorism without regard to the Fourth or Fifth Amendment, according to a Oct 23, 2001 memo released by the Obama Administration Monday,” reports Ryan Singel for Wired News. The memo was written in part by John Yoo, a deputy assistant attorney general best known for penning a memo authorizing government agents to torture suspected terrorists, including crushing the genitals of children in order to get suspected terrorists to confess.
“Military action might encompass making arrests, seizing documents or other property, searching persons or places or keeping them under surveillance, intercepting electronic or wireless communications, setting up roadblocks, interviewing witnesses and searching for suspects,” wrote Yoo and Justice special counsel Robert Delahunty.
It may have also encompassed rounding up American citizens and sending them to KBR constructed concentration camps in approximately 800 locations scattered around the country, the existence of which Glenn Beck and his researchers are unable to debunk.
Finally, we should ask why Glenn Beck is now mentioning the existence of FEMA detention camps, a subject previously considered in the realm of delusional conspiracy theories by the corporate media.
Is it possible Glenn Beck’s handlers are sending us a message?

Okay few points on this as I am a listener of both Alex Jones and Glenn Beck:
Glenn did not call Ron Paul supporters Terrorists. He said that he had received death threats from certain fringe supporters of Ron Paul – It should be noted that Ron Paul denounced the same group that Glenn Beck did.
What is wrong with Mormonism…I’m not defending it, but I would say it’s a religion where you base your life according to a set of values and principles? Is that so bad?
And the final point to put into context of the research of your argument…Glenn Beck has not worked for CNN Since October of 2008 – Not much credibility left now…

Major Government leaders are telling us exactly what they are going to do i.e. Gordon Brown meeting with Obama to discuss a “new deal” as a global entity. Look Man you need to check sources outside of this place.
1) He defended the patriot act that allowed wire-tapping with a Sunset clause. He is totally against it now and does not trust the government to give them that type of power again.
2) He called 9/11 Truth activists dangerous because he, like most Americans, do not believe that it was an inside job. If that is what he believes then him calling you names is no different than you guys calling him a snake, corporate toadie etc. because of your beliefs.

If you truly believe that FEMA camps are out there (which by the way Ron Paul said TODAY that he has no proof they are actually built yet) then you should maybe listen to Glenn Beck for a while – he is at least investigating it (after originally dismissing it. Your writing these misleading and incomplete/false facts is no different than the tactics of the people you say you are fighting against – which makes your arguments just as powerless. If you want to comment, we should at least deal with facts…and reading from one source does not constitute facts.

*This is all just an IDEA… last I checked, we were allowed to think, at least for now!*
Here’s how it SHOULD go down, 50 cells of 5 to 10 men max per city, each plan a day to go to washington or other key military or political strong holds… and with a VERY loose form of cohesion… such as all just wearing black and assault rifles, etc…
So, anyways, they all descend on select targets, pulled randomly from a hat, each cell being a working group of assassins. These would include bilderburgers, banker elite, Rockerfellers, etc.. destroying Fema Camps, etc as well, on the way.
Then, once the selective assassinations have been carried out, they follow a planned route to meet up, and then armed attack in force, those that were shielded by bodyguards, army, etc… giving those people a chance to stand down, or to join them…
They go in, in mass, and take down key parts of Government infrastructure, such as Congress, the White House, destroy Air force 1, etc… and then over throw the government.
The trick to this would be to have it unfold within minutes… thus the reason for so many cells, being like a cancer, and hopefully picking up MORE people along the way. This would also not allow many of these people to escape, or flee from their crimes.

Glen Beck is a snake. Mentioning FEMA camps is probably a way of acclimating the general public to the fact that they are there.

It’s a shame that you are so negative towards Glenn Beck. I don’t see why you can’t realize that he’s the only media personality that actually points out all the scams of our government and its politicians. He agrees with all the things on your website. He’s reported so many times on the same subjects we all dwell on: Federal Reserve, corrupt politicians, Fema camps, standing battalions, attack on constitutional rights, etc. Most of the visitors to this site supports Ron Paul. Well, Glenn has had Ron Paul on his show on many occasions and seems to have a great relationship with him. Glenn Beck is one of the only trustworthy personalities in the media.

I live 29 miles from a large (fema) camp here in Ohio. In the last 30 days my family and I have seen a ten fold increase in activity and personal population. They wear gray jump suites and are carrying glocks. They have now installed high voltage fencing on the interior of the chain link and razor wire fence. I know fencing, and this is no animal control fencing. It’s high voltage. They are as I type this, replacing the windows on the block and solid concrete buildings with glass block. I was a republican too and suported all this stuff, and still to some degree I do agree that terrorist should be locked up indefinately, but NOT US citizens in the United States, that’s going to far. First let me say…I am an avid Alex Jones fan – listen almost daily and visit the website several times a day.
Cut Glenn Beck some slack. I doubt most of you have been watching him for the last few weeks on FoxNews. Years ago, I listened to Glenn Beck on the radio – not a big fan but did enjoy the program. When I began to “wake up”, I found many reasons to be critical of Mr. Beck. However, he was one of the few to give Ron Paul air time during the primaries and I appreciated him for that. I continued to watch him on CNN occasionally and have consistently watched him now that he is on FoxNews. I have come to believe he is sincere in his quest for truth and his love of our country and its constitution. I don’t trust everything and everyone on his show, but his program last Friday with guests like Gerald Celente was great! I am thrilled that my elderly parents (who never turn off FoxNews) are beginning to “wake up” due to this man. They just wouldn’t listen to me and thought that if things I was saying were true that it would be “all over the news”. Finally, someone on TV, that they respect, is confirming what I have been preaching! Now, they are asking my advice about investing in gold and stocking food. For this, I am grateful to Mr. Beck.
As a Christian, I have no problem respecting and paying attention to non-believers. So what if Glenn is a Mormon?! Hey, I like David Icke too and I suspect that he doesn’t share my faith. Christians should know better than to write someone off simply because they haven’t woken up to the truth about Christ.

Fox News and the other MSM are back-peddling because they know that bashing the truth movement has backfired on them. You can’t refute truth and facts. The fact is that our government was under tyranny for the last 8 years and even the right-wing can’t refute that. The truthers told everyone that the government (aided by the global bankers and vice versa) were going to implode the economy, and lo and behold, that’s exactly what happened. The truthers said that FEMA camps were being built and guess what, even the biggest neo-con hack propaganda espouser at Fox even admits that he can’t “debunk” this claim.
Maybe it’s time to wake up and get on the right side of this fight to get our country back and stop being so easily manipulated by the idea that Glenn Beck has had some sort of awakening and Fox just so happens to let him have 8 mins to talk about what truthers have been saying for years. Maybe truthers aren’t so crazy afterall, huh? If there is one thing I personally despise it’s cult of personality types. You apparently worship Beck, many here worship Jones, Jones worships Hollywood and is generally star-struck, however…I disagree with you about one thing namely and that is that Jones has been accurate 95% of the time and the other 5% is that he doesn’t go far enough. It would serve you well to listen to Jones more so than Glenn Beck on any given day of the week. While I believe that Beck is coming around he is still married to money and fame, otherwise I think he would sound more like Jones by the day.

On Beck, – the man is a radio talk show host who now has an hour on Fox News – at first I thought he was just over the top – (I’m still leaning that way) – however, I feel that he is sincere in his beliefs and that he loves the country – if anyone is really listening to him, he is going after both major political parties, not just one or the other – so, to make Beck out to be partisan is factually incorrect. Second on the camps – we’ve had internment camps in the United States for quite some time – (see World War II – those Americans of Japanese Decent on the west coast and German prisoners on the East Coast), additionally, marshal law (or suspension of the constitution, including suppression of the press), was a favorite tool of Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln used civilian militia, not the military to carry out his orders. Under FDR there were “work camps”, and so on. With a national disaster the scope of Katrina, there has to be a plan in place to take care of our citizens until such time as they would be able to return to their homes or relocate – one would imagine that they would not be in the form of prison camps, but I doubt that the government (FEMA) can plan and pay for “Hilton” type facilities. That said under what scenario do you find the government putting citizens that disagree with the administration under wholesale interment? There are those on the extreme left who are suggesting that the President actually use these camps now: see: http://www.opednews.com/articl.....1-315.html – while the average person who has problems with the way government is run, will just take their frustrations out at the polling booth. That is the most likely scenario.
