Two weather stations in Brazil,

Quixeramobim RURAL flat temp trend from 1900 to 2008.

Sao Paulo large city, urban, steep rising temp trend from 1960 to 2008, can`t see any co2 warming here.
Sao Paulo has population of over 10 million, see any link, might there be a little UHI there somewhere.

@JSSmith

Weather prediction has always been a major feature of the Farmers’ Almanac. The Almanac Publishing Company claims readers of the Farmers’ Almanac have attributed an 80 to 85 percent accuracy rate to the publication’s annual forecasts. Scientific studies of these claims have shown them to be false. ( not even on their site do they claim On average of 95 to 98 % accuracy ) no meteorologist in this world would say that they can predict what will happen with the weather with that Kind accuracy. They would be laughed at in their community of fellow meteorologists. Almanac's predictions are no better than chance.
Predictions for each edition are made as far as two years in advance. The Farmers’ Almanac publishers are highly secretive about the method used to make its predictions, only stating publicly that it is a “top secret mathematical and astronomical formula, that relies on sunspot activity, tidal action, planetary position and many other factors.” The identity of the Farmers’ Almanac weather forecaster is also a secret. The Almanac’s forecaster is referred to by the pseudonym “Caleb Weatherbee.”

Next time get the right facts about something you want to support your arguments with. Sorry but the facts are facts i care less about the political side of this. These studies were discovered by more than one scientist in different parts of the world that had no connection to each other until David Travis a climate scientist released his findings of how the lack of no Jet trails after 9/11 caused a global average temp. climb of 1 degree. This is not only related to CO2 emissions. There are many other factors to this.
This may not seem like a lot it is but it is tremendous. After this was released is when other scientist that have been studying this effect over the last 20 years or so came out and released their findings. The climate when altered just the slightest bit can be disastrous. up or down this is a very delicate world we live in and the more stuff we put into the air the more it changes some we can predict some we can't because it's never happened so have no way to judge this with no prior knowledge. I don't know how much more real science I can show you. The Farmers Almanac is defiantly not that sorry.
I did go to school and studied meteorology, particle physics, and fluid dynamic. Now I may use this for other reasons than predicting climate change and more for doing effects and creating simulations for Film and media. But I can tell you that the findings and tests that they have done are all sound and done correctly. It's not just guess work there is a process that they go thru before they come out and say it's fact or come out and announce it or else they would be laughed out of there profession.

I would like to know where you got your info on the IPCC so I could read up on it and research it.

I don't mind debating this with you but it's hard for me to do this, or take you seriously, when the facts you give me are incorrect. This is in response to the farmers almanac facts you provided not the rest because I haven't been able to find this info on the IPCC to debate this with you.

IF you can tell me one reason why changing things to live in a clean world would be bad or not benefit from it then tell me but. developing clean energy sources will create more jobs help our economy and stop giving money to the people that are trying to control us.
As for al gore i haven't brought him up because didn't think it was needed but when he gives the speeches at TED a convention that brings together the Top minds in the world every year. The Top to speak every year and these people don't boo him off stage they give him standing ovations. Why if his idea's are so crazy would the top minds in the world agree with him. Not one gets up and argues his points not one hummm.

Hello, global dimming, as some of you know, the British government brought in a 'clean air act', its working, as this summer, 2008, has been colder tha usual, the thing is, what lets heat it, also lets heat out, hence hot when we have sun here, cold when its cloudy, as for the %1.00 of CO2 in the atmosphere, I really cannot see that making any diferance to global tempreature, Methane, on the other hand, which is increasing, due to outgassing in the Russian permafrost, is, as far as I can tell from varius science sites, making a diferance, plus the sun, good old Sol, where would we be without it? Did you know termites make more methane than bovines??

@Jeff:

Water can expand to almost twice its volume when it freezes to ice. This explains why rocks that have cracks in them that can hold water ( as from a rain storm, etc. ) eventually break apart from the "wedge action" of freezing. This would also explain why a glass bottle often will break if it is filled with water and then placed in a freezer.

A little observation would show you that the ice cubes that you put in your summertime drinks ALWAYS FLOAT!! ( This being true in fresh water and, especially in SALTY water. ) The sea, being very-salty, is of GREATER DENSITY than fresh water, therefore ice floats more so in the salty sea-water.

Most of your icebergs are going to be composed of freshwater, frozen, by way of precipitation ( rain, snow, sleet, etc... ) that has very little salt in it. This is because our air temperatures do not ever reach the levels needed to vaporize any of the recognizable salts present in our seas. Therefore, nature affects a "distillation effect" whereby only the water vaporizes and becomes part of our atmosphere ( water vapor "dissolves" into a "solution" with other gases that make up our atmosphere ). When the air temperature, in a given area of the atmosphere, cools - the vapor condenses as the cooler air can not hold onto as much water vapor as warmer air can; the net result is the precipitation that we call rain, snow, hail, sleet, and whatever have you. This precipitation, minus the sea salts, comprises most of the snow masses and ice that form on our poles and hold a large portion of the Earth's freshwater supplies.

When chunks of ice, near the water's edge, break off in large chunks, icebergs, they FLOAT with about four-fifths ( 4/5's ) being underwater due to the amount of mass present. These icebergs may melt considerably as the seawater approaches higher temperatures than the 32F that water freezes. Because the seawater is so salty, it is LESS likely to freeze even @ several degrees below the 32F freezing point of water. Also, the freshwater-derived ice will not sink in salty seawater because the ice ( due to water's expansion of volume upon freezing ) is LESS dense than the saturated salty water.

You can easily test this @ home by doing some simple physics experiments with ice, freshwater, tapwater, and even saltwater of varying concentrations of salt content.

If your icebergs are sinking, that means there is more than just ice in them!

DO YOURSELF AND EVERYONE ELSE A FAVOR: GO AND RELEARN REAL SCIENCE!!!

@jokadownunda:

Maybe so. However, you forget that there were also far fewer people in those days, and there were still a multitude of wildlife species that also "fart" and exhale CO2, not everyone then could afford or even had any horses or cattle! I have read your posts for a quite a while and see no common sense expressed in any of them! To also answer your statement(s), go check on the results of years of geological studies and close examinations of the arctic and antarctic ice core samples ( you just got to love technology!!! ) and see just how well this Earth keeps weather and climate records, without the aid of computers, spreadsheets, graphs, and such!

@cluster:

You haven't explained how almost 37,000 climatologists, scientists, physicists, and the like have been repudiated by the IPCC in favor of supporting the views of about 600 scientists who maintain the 'man-made' climate change assertion. Maybe you missed the point that the MAJORITY of those scientists present were suing the IPCC to have their names removed from the final report as it did not reflect a true scientific basis of the supported 'outcome' that the IPCC wanted to publicly report. You also failed to mention anything about the fact that the staff of the Farmer's Almanac ( published for hundreds of years as the trusted source for climate and weather-related information for the following year(s) ) came out against the climate-change cult and dismissed the propaganda as lacking any scientific credibility. ( Not to mention that the Farmer's Almanac has consistently maintained an accuracy rate of about 95 to 98% year to year! ) Nor do you mention that the founder of the Weather Channel has a lawsuit against Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. ( former Vice-President of the United States ) over the published book, "Earth in the Balance", as perpetrating a fraud through material misrepresentation under the guise of science! The higher courts of Britain have ruled on virtually all of the main points made in "Earth in the Balance" that support the flawed view of 'global warming' lack any credible standing and lack any scientific basis for any of those points, and the book in general, to have any accuracy!!!

If I need to extrapolate any further examples of the "political" crisis of this climate-change philosophy, I am more than willing to debate and PROVE that man-made climate change through 'excessive CO2' emissions is complete malarky!!!

Talk about massive government cover ups. After the discovery of Planet x, with the IRAS satalite back in 1983, and reconfirmed in 1999-2003 the US gov and EU has gone to extreem mesures to surpress its very existance, the recent release of even newer evidence from the University Of Kobe, suggests that the sunspot activity reduction is tied to the rapidly approaching Planet x , due to make its visual arrival by everybody by 2010, and by 2012 be causing all kinds of nasty plantetary events. I have done extensive research on the subject and found allot of crap, and missinformation....but this to be a very credible source of information you really need to know about. http://churchofcriticalthinking.org/planetx.html

No, there weren't cars in the 18th and 19th centuries, but wood, charcoal and coal were the main sources of fuel for energy. At one time, in the middle ages, something like 1/3 of the population was engaged in charcoal production -- chopping down trees and partially burning them. It was essential to obtain the higher temperatures needed to smelt ore and shape metals. One of the most significant sources of CO2 emissions today is from the fires lit by families in underdeveloped countries to cook their daily meals. Stop burning down the Amazonian rainforest and help these countries to deliver electricity to their people (always polluting, but less so when done with care), and you can deal a large blow to CO2 emissions.
