Just to address a few of the questions raised in the earlier comments: The cars seen in the top photo are parked in the regular non-reserved spaces. The photo is taken looking away from the front of the store toward Anderson Lane (FK, this Office Depot is on Anderson across from the old Northcross Mall). The sign faces the reserved spots. There are only a very few. The whole parking lot is small. Walking from the far row at the street to the front doors of the store takes a whopping 60 seconds or less at my moderate old lady speed.

fk, your point 5 asks about is the vehicle on the right fuel efficient?, forget about that, the vehicle on the left is a rav4 even a small suv uses 10 to 20% more fuel than the station wagon alongside.

Actually….the parking spots with shade are usually away from the building near the islands that have trees planted on them.

I wonder in this idea was started with the “compact parking” zones a few years ago? I have noticed over the years that the compact parking slots were placed next to the “handicap” parking slots nearest business entrances, and all others placed further away. Most of the “others” parking were placed where there was little shade.

1. How many spots are for these vehicles?

2. Where is the front door?

3. It does not look like there is any signs on those parking spots 10 feet behind this one.

4. Is that vehicle to the right fuel efficient?

5. Where in Austin is this place..I live in Austin and will gladly go take better pictures and show how absurd this article is.
