Let me say first of all, I love the environment.
In fact, I spend most of my time in some environment or other.
My family lives the low-packaging, low carbon, tedious recycling lifestyle.
My wife is so committed to recycling that I’m convinced that when I’m gone, my body will be dragged to the curb on Wednesday night.
So I have to say in a quiet voice that I’m sick and tired of hearing about carbon footprints, offset credits, green shift and global warming.
(Article continues below)
Don’t get me wrong — I think looking after the Earth is a good thing.
I don’t like messes, pollution, toxic waste, whale hunts or anything else that makes this planet a worse place.
But even for a bearded hermit living in a cave, a zero footprint is impossible.
Even the simplest life is messy and we need to consume.
And within reason, in the first world we are lucky enough to expect to be comfortable. And humans elsewhere aspire to be comfortable too.
You want to tell me that some of us consume too much? You’ll get no argument from me.
And some people make far more of a mess than they have to.
I think sharing the planet and making sure there is lots left over for the next generation is a good thing too.
But I think it’s a little much when there isn’t a single thing that isn’t pointed out as the result of global warming. A hot day in the summer — global warming. A cold day in the winter — global warming. Too much rain — global warming. Not enough rain — global warming. Didn’t finish your school homework — global warming.
The human effect on global warming with all its variations has become the new religion.
Actually, it’s become the new big business of activists, consultants, pundits and others who have grasped it with both hands as a way of being taken seriously.
And woe to the heretics who publicly doubt the science behind it.
People like the 100 respected scientists who pointed out in a letter to the United Nations earlier this year that global warming is not only a natural phenomenon, but there isn’t much evidence to support the idea that we puny humans riding on the Earth’s back are making much of a difference one way or the other.
They point out that “Recent observations of phenomena such as glacial retreats, sea-level rise and the migration of temperature-sensitive species are not evidence for abnormal climate change, for none of these changes has been shown to lie outside the bounds of known natural variability.”
No one wants to hear that average temperatures are in the normal range of the last 10,000 years, and there’s been no net increase in the past decade.
Humans have pretty limited vision when it comes to a lot of things, so we assume a lot based on our 70 or 80 years on the planet. In the last several billion years, the Earth has been steaming hot or a big ball of ice more times than we can count. And you can be pretty sure the last ice age didn’t end 12,000 years ago because some caveman left their SUV idling.
People like Vaclav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic, has gone so far as to say that proposals to address global warming are not justified by current science and are, in fact, a dangerous threat to freedom and prosperity around the world.
So, be nice to the planet. We all live here. But if you want to base a massive change in human activity on predictions about global warming, just ask yourself how often the weatherman gets it right.

“and are, in fact, a dangerous threat to freedom and prosperity around the world.”
Absolutely right, that’s what the propaganda scare is all about. The NWO isn’t about “saving the earth” when they are in fact the biggest destroyers of planet earth. They are a bout a power monopoly- nothing else. And they use any possible means to achieve that. “Global Warming” is just the current fad. They will come up with something else next time, be sure. Unless we expose and hence stop them.

Rational thinking people are short in abundance these days. Noahs Ark did not happen because of humans

good people will go along with a lie if they think the purpose is
to steer humanity with good intentions. Like a parent who reads scary stories, to put a little fear into them. “the purpose” – inherently points out there is “some group” guiding us(social engineering). They think their ilk, may possibly become members of this “group”. They know best, of course. Then there are those people who’s families’ breed directly into this “group” of social engineers.
This child parent relationship (society/rulers) mindset is the problem. Wake up all you mothers to the cold hard fact, rulers are not fathers. Rulers are cold calculating insects with cruel
humor and ransid hearts.
The time of solid kings with generous hearts is forever gone.
Unless the planet is thrown down the galaxy lanes and man forgets
who he was will this time return.
May the idea be born today in us all, to light the days of our lives with the true image of man. The unintended delight awaken with a horrid shaking of image blaze ( TV )
I heard on pacifica radio as a bumper – the sign of intelligence is to hold two opposing ideas in your mind at once(hopelessness & hope), I would say this is a sure fire way of breaking a human. Rulers humiliate us. Require you to mutilate your children.
I admire those that have given up the path of family
to fight with might against the father of humanity, or should I say the step father of humanity, the group of engineers & fincanciers. More admire those taken up the path of the family and continue to resist. The more we resist, and in that word imbues implies relies denies the evil image that keeps us humble, keeps us human

Here’s one of the “best” ones I’ve heard in a long time; “insect farts a ‘major contributor to global warming’”
http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/sto.....yId=128542
How fucking stupid can these “scientists” get?!?!
Anyway – it reminds me of a campaign they had in China under Mao where they killed millions, if not billions of insects to get ridd of something “bad” I don’t quite remember what it was ecaxtly – but the result of that was a major food shortage the very next year killing a LOT of people.
Now, that wouldn’t be the goal here as well, would it?
No, they’re just worried about “global warming” and they have “good science” to back them up too, not?

The little campaign in China I was trying to remember there was called the Great Sparrow War – see http://fatfinch.wordpress.com/…..rrow-wars/
To get ridd of sparrows – for they had an “evil” habbit of eating grain and grain seeds – Mao wanted to kill insects among other things too and the result of that was 35 million people dead.
My guess is that the common people went along for they just didn’t know any better – just like with this AGW-crap today – and the scientiests there went along too – just like today – because they knew there’d be less “useless eaters” once they were done with it.
And I mean it’s not like the elite would have trouble feedíng themsleves during a food shortage, would they?

See this website for more info about 2012 everyone: http://www.howtosurvive2012.com/htm_night/home.htm
Apparently, the US and most of Europe will be completely destroyed, and the only way to survive the 2km high tidal waves is to build an indstructable boat, of which only 6,000 exist.

OUR CARBON OUTPUT COULD ACTUALLY CREATE GLOBAL COOLING AND ICE-AGE. People get it confused.
I’m sure all-ya-all have seen the movie called “THE DAY AFTER”
-it’s about how how we humans f’d up the atmospheric equilibrium
or something so much that it totally f’d up “normal” wheather patterns and caused and ice-age.
Supposedly this movie was basic on scientific probability. Looks like we may see this movie become a reality.
THAT MY FRIENDS WOULD TOTALLY SUCK. FREEZING YOUR NUTS OFF AND STUMBLING AROUND IN ICY BLIZZARDS LOOKING FOR FOOD IS NO WAY TO LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CLEAN ENERGY NOW!!! LETS STOP BURNING
FOSSIL FUELS BEFORE IT F’S THINGS UP ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

zendik8 – just keep going to the movies – HOLLYWOOD movies are good for you and they’re very educational too – especially those which are based on “real events” and so on. And I mean, they must be true ’cause they say they are + they have real people as actors too, right?
Even Al Gore – who has a carbon footprint of a small African nation himself – got a Nobel PEACE price for his SCIENCE (fiction) film, and which was based on “real events” (in the future “not so far away”) as well.
A very small part of it was (bad) science, while half of it was fiction and the rest pure, re-usable propaganda-bullshit – but hey, it’s the thought (”must kill 90% of the population”) that counts, eh.
Ps. now that Al Gore’s very inconvenient film has practically “expired” – maybe the Day After movie gets the Nobel PEACE price one day too – and I mean it may indeed get “closer to the truth” than Fat-Al and his cheerful (band)wagon will ever get. Well, I’ll keep my fingers crossed…
