On a farm outside of Canada, goats have been genetically altered and now contain one spider silk gene. This gene enables the goats to produce silk protein in their milk.

Actually, there’s kind of a twist to this whole debate. The opposition arguement is that if you make a genetically superior human, or if you decide to bring back dinosaurs, you’re playing God and it isn’t natural, but actually everything humans do is natural. Although humans created plastic, nature created humans with the ability to create plastic, therefor, the creation of plastic is natural. Likewise for whatever eventual horrors we’ll create by playing with the human genome. But actually, being born as one of the ‘Village of the Damned” children sounds pretty sweet… being exterminated by them is another story.

Matt, Actually, humans are about as UNNATURAL as you can get. With your reasoning, every filthy polluting chemical substance or polluting action that humans create or do is natural, simply because humans are “natural” and everything that is created is made from “natural” substances to begin with. We need to go back to square one. Humans are the only species (except for super domesticated ans specially bred animals like cows and dogs) that has lost the ability to take care of themselves. We do not appear to fit into the natural scheme of things at all, in ANY way…
Don’t fool yourselves. We are not above it all. We MUST learn to live in harmony with nature and stop making excuses for why everything we do is just OK.

I didn’t mean to imply that everything we do is “good”, which is relative to how one perceives good things and bad things, just natural in the literal sense of the word. For instance, if I perceived the survival of the human race as the ultimate “good”, genetically/intellectually superior human beings might be the best way of acheiving that. Of course, they would likely perceive us as an existential threat and destroy us, but they would still technically be human, and thus, the human race lives on. If I thought peace on earth was the ultimate “good”, a nuclear exchange that destroys all life on earth would actually acheive that. I guess it just lends creedence to the old axiom, “be careful what you wish for”.

I’m not a psyops agent, unless everyone who thinks discussing science and its impact on society is a psyops agent in your book. In which case I am. I also like ‘Star Trek’, so I guess I’m a communist too. One of my favorite books is H.G. Wells’ ‘The Time Machine’, so I must secretly support the NWO plan to divide the human race into two separate species. Oh, and I like cheesy horror movies, which makes me a Satanist devoid of morality. I’m a smoker, so I’m also an agent for the Tobacco lobby… I supported Ron Paul and urged others to as well, but since I also believed 9/11 was perpetrated by the government, I was really trying to undermine is candidacy by making it seem like all Ron Paul supporters were crazy conspiracy theorists… I could go on…

In the last few years, numerous small firms such as Genentech have been started, and giant corporations like Standard Oil of California, Monsanto and Du Pont are spending millions on genetic research. Last June the Supreme Court of the United States created a stir by ruling that genetically altered forms of life could be patented like any other invention.
Dumb? but The smell of money is in the air, and, not surprisingly, scientists have recently been spreading the word that perhaps gene-splicing is not so risky after all. They point out that the strains of bacteria used in most experiments cannot survive outside the laboratory. In general, they say, altered DNA creates organisms that are genetic “cripples” and therefore less dangerous to man than the wild variety. Dr. Watson perhaps typifies the new attitude when he now calls his signing of the “Berg letter,” “the silliest thing I did in my life.”

Spidersilk armor could stop 7.62 at point blank range and you wouldn’t even feel it… actually it could stop an F-16
But how can you milk a spider?
Of course some of these goats got loose so there’s plausable deniability.(I think in florida some time ago)
I wouldn’t mind being bulletproof either.

There is something very wrong with mixing different species together. If goats were meant to produce silk protein then God or for the secularist – nature would have made them that way. Has anybody thought as to where all this genetic tampering might lead? Probably to
unforseen events and life forms that humans will regret having gotten involved with.
There is a place for genetic work but this isn’t it. This sort of thing should be illegal.

These genetic researchers are a sick bunch of mother f-ers. They get a real boner from doing this stuff. Actually they should be tossed into a prison cage like a Reeses monkey and fertilized by Mandingo up their pink sphincter.
The same goes for the bastards that created Africanized honey bees (killer bees). Throw several dozen politicians and bankers in for good measure too.
