Risk-averse Germans are turning to gold in troubled times – but there’s none left.
German gold dealers say demand has skyrocketed this past week to 10 times normal so no more orders can be taken for the foreseeable future.
“The demand exceeds our capacities by a great deal,” said Heiko Ganss, head of precious metal company Pro Aurum.
“The requests cannot be satisfied right now,” a dealer from the Düsseldorf WGZ Bank confirmed.

“Demand for gold as a conservative investment has risen dramatically,” said stephan Henkel. “right now the demand is about 10 times as high as in normal times.”
Gold deliveries now take between four and six weeks.
The US mint said on Monday it had exhausted some of its supply of bullion coins and was struggling to meet demand for gold, silver and platinum.
South Africa’s Rand Refinery, producer of the world’s most popular gold bullion coin, the Krugerrand, temporarily ran out of the coins in August.

How can there be a shortage of gold? Anyone heard of U.S. gov’t blocking sale of gold? PLease post links if you know of any! That is WHAT is WRONG with fiat money, they can just print more, unlike gold or silver!

they are making gold unavailable because they are running out? this might be speculation.
but it makes sense that central banks own vast amounts of gold and they know giving it up to the presses right now will leave people more choices to get away from dollars/debt.

I’ve been investing in better precious metals. Like Lead. Aluminium. Copper. Save it. It will come in handy someday soon.
I suspect much of what’s in junk yards will all be shipped abroad soon. Leaving little left in resources. But what’s in already made products on the shelves of stores, etc.

If peopel would only look at How the markets ran during times when gold/silver was King. Or money. Depressions didn’t last. Inflation was nearly non-exsistant. DUH!

Then someone discovered Fiat. Expanding cash without needing any collateral backing? UH? More DUH!

Tim, I have invested in silver. Gold is out of reach for me unless it’s in the lessor ounces. I will be getting those soon. But where do you get your copper? I have searched all over Chicago for a coin dealer who sales them but they do not carry copper and some dealers have told me to not worry about copper. I know that when silver runs out copper will be the next thing that’s horded.

I have thought alot about what we can do and after seeing a few more FEMA camp videos I have come up with the answer and it is this: When the camps start filling up it is our duty to destroy them and all their facilitators(Blackwater-they are privatized and that’s why all the vans and helicoptors are black). The camps should be the rallying points. Do not allow the black vans full of citizens to enter the camps. Free the citizens and destroy every one of them. And if you hear a helicoptor landing in your neighborhood in the middle of the night go out there and fill that bitch with holes and light it on fire. There are not enough US troops to round up everyone. I’m convinced the roundups will be done by blackwater goons. They should be the primary targets as they are paid mercenaries willing to bring death to any and/or all of us. So let’s just start there and regroup after the react to contact begins. If you live near what you suspect is a FEMA camp, organize your battle groups and form contingency plans. Build secret fortified bunkers all around them under cover of darkness. Learn the surrounding terrain. Be vigilante. They can’t kill ALL of us. Remember, all we say is tracked and traced so only with people you personally know, and ALL communications should be done in person only. Imagine what will happen when they start trying to put people in the camps and all across the nation patriots wipe these fucking camps out and kill all the blackies. I feel SOOOO much better already just even thinking about this. We owe our fellow brothers and sisters this commitment of protection. DOWN WITH THE CAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Godspeed

#15bryan is right. a system of barter among individuals would wipeout the nwo’s control. this is something that was done until the 20th century in parts of new hampshire and probably other places amongst the states. we have been issued a common unit of trade that is worthless in itself an now must be used to “pay the bills”. only trade with items that have worth in itself. that is something someone wants that you have or can make or provide. federal notes or any paper money is worthless.

#22 mark is right. Gold and silver will be hard to spend because of it’s value. Barter will be the best way for a while at least. It will require honesty and a lack of greed to work properly. Meaning, if I have meat to trade, I don’t require someone to give me an enormous amount of say rice or bread in exchange. For it to work, we will have to have compassion for each other and an understanding that we are in this together.

Seems though the Headlne to this article is very misleading. Currently there is a five week & sometimes longer wait for the pgysical gold in the US & all of the America’s. My grandparents were in the UK during World War II – what did they do when rationing was imposed? Everyone had their own allotments and greenhouses in their gardens – they grew carrots, turnips, lettuce, cabbage, and tomatoes. Some people still do this to this day.
These items were bartered through the black market.
The shortage is caused by the dealers having fixed long term contracts with their suppliers, while the general population has now started hedge their bets and start buying gold instead of investing their money with banks – look at that widow who lost 800K of live savings in a Guernsey bank, and has to sell her house and move into a care home.

I had a friend cash his inheritance and spent the whole thing on gold
when the prices were soaring. Soon Gold resumed to its regular price
and he sold it in a panic at a discount price. Today he is to embarrassed
to admit how much money he actually lost. Folks, be careful about making
rash decisions with your savings. Commodities can also be a good investment.

I called every coin shop in Lexington, KY yesterday and not one of them had any gold. I then called a store in Louisville, the lady there chuckled when I asked for anything gold. She said that alot of people had been calling. Say what you want. Over the long run supply and demand always prevail.
