Google Re-establishes Relationship With Government Spies
Search engine company has a history of involvement with intelligence agencies

Google is set to establish a working relationship with the National Security Agency, the government spy force responsible for warrantless monitoring of Americans’ phone calls and e-mails in the wake of 9/11.
The announcement comes in response to recent cyber attacks on the search engine company, which it says emanated from China.
Anonymous sources tell the Washington Post that “the alliance is being designed to allow the two organizations to share critical information”, adding that the agreement will not allow the NSA access to users’ search details or e-mails.
The sources also said that the NSA, the largest intelligence agency in the country, may also involve the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security in the project.
“The critical question is: At what level will the American public be comfortable with Google sharing information with NSA?” said Ellen McCarthy, president of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, an organization of current and former intelligence and national security officials that seeks ways to foster greater sharing of information between government and industry.
Greg Nojeim, senior counsel for the Center for Democracy & Technology, a privacy advocacy group, told the Post that companies have statutory authority to share information with the government to protect their rights and property.
In 2008, Google denied that it had any role in the NSA’s “terrorist” surveillance program, after first refusing to say if they have provided users private data to the federal government under the warrantless wiretapping initiative.
However, it is clear where Google’s interests lie given that the company is supplying the software, hardware and tech support to US intelligence agencies in the process of creating a vast closed source database for global spy networks to share information.
The government supply arm of Google has also reportedly entered into a number of other contracts, details of which it says it cannot share.
Google’s partnership with the intelligence network is not new. As we reported in late 2006, An ex-CIA agent Robert David Steele has claimed sources told him that CIA seed money helped get the company off the ground
Speaking to the Alex Jones Show, Steele elaborated on previous revelations by making it known that the CIA helped bankroll Google at its very inception. Steele named Google’s CIA point man as Dr. Rick Steinheiser, of the Office of Research and Development.
“I think Google took money from the CIA when it was poor and it was starting up and unfortunately our system right now floods money into spying and other illegal and largely unethical activities, and it doesn’t fund what I call the open source world,” said Steele, citing “trusted individuals” as his sources for the claim.
“They’ve been together for quite a while,” added Steele.
Recent disclosures under the Freedom Of Information Act have also revealed that the federal government has several contracts with social media outlets, including Youtube which is owned by Google. The contracts are said to waive rules on monitoring users and permit companies to track visitors to government web sites for advertising purposes.
The NSA’s involvement with Google should be treated as highly suspect, given the agency’s recent track record and its blatant disregard for the Fourth Amendment.
A set of documents obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) in June 2007 showed that US telco AT&T allowed the NSA to set up a ’secret room’ in its offices to monitor internet traffic.
The discovering prompted a lawyer for an AT&T engineer to allege that “within two weeks of taking office, the Bush administration was planning a comprehensive effort of spying on Americans” That is BEFORE 9/11, before the nation was embroiled in the freedom stripping exercise commonly known as the “war on terror” had even begun.
In late 2007, reports circulated that the NSA has increasing control over SSL, now called Transport Layer Security, the cryptographic protocol that provides secure communications on the internet for web browsing, e-mail, instant messaging, and other data transfers.
In other words the agency is capable of intercepting and reading your emails and instant messages in real time. It is now beyond doubt that the NSA’s “terrorist surveillance program” now extends to this.
In 2008, the ACLU also uncovered details pertaining to a secret Justice Department memo from October 2001 that reveals the Bush administration effectively suspended the Fourth Amendment where domestic counter terrorism operations are concerned.
It is almost certain that the memo was written to provide a legal basis for the NSA to begin its warrantless wiretapping program, which was initiated in the same month.
Two years ago, the US National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell announced that plans were been drawn up for a cyberspace spying program that would make the current debate on warrantless wiretaps look like a “walk in the park”.
The plan involved giving the government the authority to examine the content of any e-mail, file transfer or Web search. The message is clear – government spies want unfettered access to the web searches and emails of Americans. Any relationship between the government and Google must be considered with this in mind.
After 9/11 the work of 16 different intelligence agencies, including the CIA and the giant National Security Agency, which eavesdrops on international communications, as well as the Energy Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration was centralized under the office of the Director of National Intelligence.
Over decades we have witnessed the evolution of Government surveillance programs and information databases targeting citizens. We are now witnessing the centralization of this vast control grid Panopticon.
The latest marriage between Google and the intelligence community also comes in the wake of increased calls to introduce a global licensing system to police the Internet in the name of preventing cyber warfare.

It is no surprise when you look at it this way, as to why their stock price was SKY HIGH !
Everyone on the ‘inside’ in the stockbrokerage industry knew it, and likewise knew there would be an effort to keep the price up, so GOOG could use their stock price as leverage to issue more shares, and use the sky high stock price to do ‘leveraged buyouts’ and takeovers of other companies by issuing more shares at the then current stock price, and ‘grow’ their big business into a mega player in the ‘information industry’ -something the NSA and CIA hold dear, information.

Another piece of the puzzle that fits is, GOOG has stated long ago (before rampant govt. spying on the general public) that they keep a copy and ISP record of all emails and all searches done thru their websites. GOOG was founded in 1998.

Many of these conspiracy theories don’t line up. I follow a great deal of this information, and a great deal of it can be verified and makes a lot of sense, but some of it just doesn’t hold water. Like he said, google doesn’t need to hand any of this info over if the technology is in place to simply grab data being transmitted out of the air and sift through it anyway. There is no need to request the information if the patriot act bypasses the legal necessity to do that. No matter what phone you use or isp or proxy server or search provider, the powers that be can snatch this info up right from whatever mode of data transfer you use quite easily. This argument about google is therefore retarded and pointless. Think before you make articles that might undermine your integrity with people who actually think for themselves. It’s safe to keep using google–you can’t avoid being hacked by the greatest hackers money can buy, trust me.
Also, learn to spell–no one will listen to you come off as stupid. Also, don’t insert your religion into conspiracy theories. I stop listening when I hear anything about the bible or god. All religions are historically bulls---–so don’t try and cram it down my throat. You wanna talk about control, take a look into the history of christianity and how that’s been used for manipulation.

Microsoft allready got their arm twisted to embed spy technology into Windows, DHS and others require that everyting on the web be recorded (just as NSA did broadband radio recordings back in the 1960’s). Nothing is new, and even with warehouses of computers and googleplexes of memory, there arn’t enough analysts to read everything hundreds of millions of people send (much of it porn) over the web every day. Not worth getting your underwear in a twist if you are just another taxpayer trying to survive. Better to get informed, listen to thinkers like Ron Paul and others associated with the Alliance for Freedom, and focus your time and money in smashing them in the elections next November. We shocked the daylights out of them putting a Republican (a real conservative, not another progressive like Bush, Clinton, Bush, and Obama) into Kennedy’s retirement seat in Ma. We bashed climategate, H1N1gate, and we have a lot of lies and NWO conspiracy to overcome, yet. Keep up the good work!

The skunks near my house are my friends..
at one point I had a family under the porch.
We talked, (and that is not a euphemism.. we talked.. plain and simple.
I told her that was not a promising long term location.
She agreed, and moved soon after on her own time.
Meanwhile, one evening, 5 little skunklings came out in a row,
mom and dad were there in the yard nearby,
each of the skunklings came and sniffed my bare toes.
None of us gave each other any trouble.
Another time my neighbor had a young skunkling
who fell in a window well on night training.
She was afraid if shim, and it was way past bedtime for the critter.
When I got there the little fellow was tapped out (my good luck)
I lifted him out and placed him on the ’sidewalk’..
He backed up (looking me in the eye) until he bumped his but on a drain tile,
went around the corner, came back, (again looking me right in the eye)
and presumably went home.
Perhaps He knows this is a Skunkworks.

On the January 17, 2010 episode of TVO’s Search Engine, Jesse Brown interviewed Watson Meng, editor of one of the oldest citizen journalism news sites to hold China’s feet to the fire, Boxun.us, and he cast an entirely different light on this story with some inside information from Boxun’s sources in the Chinese government. Watson Meng: From what we read in public, it is because of attack. Google receive attack the email box, they say you know dissident’s email box attacked. From my observations that type of attack has been you know happening all the time, to many people. I know many friends they lost their access to their Google email account so we don’t know technically how the hacker you know did that. Whether they access the server or they steal the password, we don’t know. This happens very very frequently. But Google this time they use this type of attack as a reason… my personal understanding is Google may know more than they tell the public.
Jesse Brown: Because of course as you suggest we’ve known for a long time that these attacks have been occurring. We’ve covered it on this program many times, attacks originating in China, they can never be directly traced to the Chinese government but it’s an open secret that it’s Chinese government affiliates that are launching these attacks.
In light of this, Google should come clean on the real reasons for their threat to leave China rather than throwing up this smokescreen. Why get all huffy about hacked email now? Does it have anything to do with Clinton’s recent barn burning speech about how America will ‘protect your freedoms’ online? Getting into bed with the NSA’s cybersecurity program sets a horrible precedent, assurances your searches will remain private notwithstanding.

Steps to covertly allow the National Security Agency (NSA) to watch everything your users do:
1) Secretly allow the NSA to ‘wiretap’ your internet backbone and scour your customer’s internet search results and email accounts.
2) Semantically argue that you are not taking part in any kind of Government sponsored ‘Terrorist Surveillance Program’ (after all, they are not taking part in this program. they are just providing this info through an agreement with the NSA which exists outside of any official operation. Of course, they are sworn to secrecy about this).
3) Use the time that the denials bought you to find justification for allowing the NSA into your business.
4) After a good reason has arisen for the NSA monitor your users activities, announce a partnership with the NSA and claim that is in the interest of ‘National Security’ or the ‘Defense of Google’s ability to reliably provide a secure service to it’s users’.
5) Explain to the public that the NEW partnership will not violate any policies and is in everyone’s best interest. Everyone should feel warm and cozy inside because Google is the search company that cares.
Let’s go on a little trip through recent history:
1) August 5th, 2007: Protect America Act of 2007 -
This bill allowed the monitoring of all electronic communications of people in the United States without a court’s order or oversight. That’s right…NO WARRANT REQUIRED. And did you catch the last word in the first sentence? NO COURT OVERSIGHT.
There ARE rules that are supposed to be followed to ‘protect US citizens’. But the reporting requirements only call for the Attorney General to submit a summary of activities to Congress bi-annually. All non-compliance with those rules protecting us domestically are being reported by…you guessed it: The same people who are actually carrying out the surveillance. That’s like asking cops to report other cops for breaking rules. Except at a much higher level.
2) March 3rd, 2008: House and Senate Pass Retroactive Immunity Bill –
All Telecom Operators, Internet Service Providers and Email/Search Hosts will be afforded retroactive immunity to all legal action by the American people in regards to any and all possibly illegal surveillance activities they may have engaged in between September 11th, 2001 and January 2008. After Jan. 2008, these same companies will be exonerated by the Protect America Act. There were (at the time) 40 separate lawsuits relating to invasion of privacy against these companies.
3) March 5th, 2008: DOJ Admits to Domestic Email & Web-Traffic monitoring -
In an expansion of their previous efforts to keep tabs on the American public, the Department of Justice releases a statement confirming the fact that they are not only monitoring phone calls over carrier networks such as Verizon and AT&T, but also tapping into the internet’s backbone through companies controlling them such as AOL Transit Data Network, AT&T, Global Crossing, Verizon Business (formerly UUNET), NTT Communications, Qwest, SAVVIS, and Sprint. In addition to this, they go on to say that their primary concern is search providers and email. Hence, companies such as Microsoft (which operates Hotmail) and Google (who runs Gmail) are complying with these orders to offer up all requested search data and open the door for the Government to have unbridled access to it’s users’ email accounts.
4) March 10th, 2008: Former Intelligence officers shed light on data-mining process –
“If a person suspected of terrorist connections is believed to be in a U.S. city — for instance, Detroit, a community with a high concentration of Muslim Americans — the government’s spy systems may be directed to collect and analyze all electronic communications into and out of the city.” That’s right. ALL DATA from an ENTIRE CITY. All they have to say is “We suspect X from X-city” and they can monitor the entire metropolitan area.
“[Telecom Companies] are giving the government unlimited access to a copy of the flow of communications, through a network of switches at U.S. telecommunications hubs that duplicate all the data running through it.” This is the same method they use for mining data from the Internet Backbone. Tap into the main US switches and ALL data can be harvested. There is no way that the NSA would rely on that companies employees to provide this important data to them, so it can only be assumed that the NSA is running the facilities housing these switches.
5) March 17th, 2008: Google denies working with the NSA –
Google makes a ‘firm’ denial that they took part in the NSA’s ‘Terrorist Surveillance Program (TSP)’ stating: “[Google] didn’t help the NSA search your emails” and furthermore “was not part of [said] Program.” As a matter of fact, many snooping activities, some of which were clearly illegal, do not come under this definition (TSP). Simply put, Google could have handed over a copy of every search request and every e-mail sent by a Gmail user to the U.S. government and it would still be able to quite correctly deny participating in the Terrorist Surveillance Program.
The reason they do no admit this is because the NSA would not allow them to. When an agency like the NSA asks for your data via a National Security Letter(NSL), they also force you to agree to lie about a request actually being made. One ISP operator is quoted as saying “Under the threat of criminal prosecution, I must hide all aspects of my involvement in the case–including the mere fact that I received an NSL–from my colleagues, my family and my friends. I am forced to look them in the eye and lie.” As a side note, NSLs increased from 8,500 in the year 2000 to over 47,000 in 2005.
6) July 10th, 2008: FISA Amendments Act of 2008 Passed –
The Foreign Intelligence and Surveillance Act Amendments of 2008 reauthorizes many of the expiring provisions of the Protect America Act of 2007. In addition, new provisions and effects have been added including the extension of the length of warrant-less surveillance from 48 hours (2 Days) to 168 hours (7 Days). Also added was the ability to electronically or physically “eavesdrop” on a ‘target’ in the case of an emergency with no consent or approval and without providing justification. Only a form must be filed within a week of the ‘emergency’ surveillance. Lastly, it effectively defeats any lawsuits filed against the companies that may be working with the NSA.
7) February 4th, 2010: Out of nowhere, Google and NSA ‘team up’ –
After claiming to be the victim of a foreign cyber-attack reportedly originating in China, Google forms a partnership with the NSA. The purpose of this partnership “would not be to determine who was behind the attacks”, but instead to “better defend Google…and its users from future attacks”.
Correct me if I am wrong, but last time I checked, Google was a public company owned by the American people and NOT part of the US Government. When normal companies have network security issues, new IT Security personnel and practices are put in place to prevent future breaches. In this case, Google somehow teams up with the National Security Agency, one of the Nations most complex intelligence apparatuses, to perform this function.
If Google does not want to go after the foreign entities responsible for the attack, why would it need the help of the NSA? Securing Google’s network is an internal issue and should not require the use of a tax-payer funded branch of the US Government to do it. What (or who) afforded them the preferential treatment with an agency with whom Google had no previous contact (according to Google themselves)? If my company befell similar circumstances, would the NSA rush to our rescue or is there another reason the NSA and Google are eager to announce their future collusion?
In summation, I would assume that while the cyber-attacks may be a legitimate cause for concern, this is probably part of a grander scheme to make Google’s cooperation in offering up it’s user’s privacy (and entire personal lives) more palatable to the public at large. Whenever the Government knows that the people will have a negative perception of something they are doing, they convince us that it’s in everyone’s best interest by skewing the data in their favor (see Iraq War->WMDs).
The American People are quite aware (and have become accustomed to the fact) that Big Brother is constantly watching in broad daylight. What they don’t know is that Little Brother is also watching from the shadows. And Little Brother doesn’t play by the rules.

The question is why is Google being so public with this so called threat to the point of having to call upon big brother to help?
Everybody knows that Google employs the best and brightest and has since their beginning. I really don’t believe that Google needs help to concur hackers from China.
I have personally experienced allot of hacking activity supposedly originating from China on my servers. Yet in China it’s a huge crime to be a hacker. So, either the government of China is guilty of hacking small business internet operators or it’s hackers using proxy’s through China to hack servers.
What purpose does hacking a small business server serve a hacker?
I know they will hack a server to push out spam through the email server, that’s one reason. But the volume of supposed Chinese hackers has me wondering if there really is that many illegal hackers willing to trade years of prison time if caught in China.
What benefit does the government gain by the public exposure of Chinese hackers?
My take, it’s a false flag op. I see something coming that isn’t good at all. The way they make such a big deal now is to create a mindset that China is attacking us as if we are being bombed and our country is under attack by China. The propaganda wheels are churning. It’s like the yellow cake psyop ordeal. They are setting the stage for military intervention with the biggest country on this planet. In which they (China or maybe Russia too) will retaliate as agreed upon by our government. The underground facilities which are in different parts of the US are there for a reason.
How does a corrupt government get the people to beg for the military to help them? Well get another country of vast power to attack you. A war generated by our own government is nothing new, the start of our involvement with the Vietnam war was a ploy by the US government. The gulf of Tonkin has been proven to be a false flag attack. The current war is another false flag attack by us against another sovereign country. The list goes on and on. False flag ops are what our government if best at.
So, what I see coming soon is a forced war with China and or Russia and the nukes will fly, this is the reason the underground bunkers are in place for the elite. The stockpiles of food the government is accumulating is incredible as well as there big push to digitize the books housed in the libraries of the US. They are preparing for life underground and those of us who are left above ground are in for some hard times ahead. Also, let’s not forget the seed bunkers already in place which house the seeds of the world.
There’s something big unfolding and this is one more piece of their puzzle. Look for more information which makes the other countries into villains in the near future.
This would satisfy their agenda for reducing the population of the world to their desired levels in a matter of a few months. Of course they would have to live underground for a while but scum can live in dirt.
I know the bible says that we will be taken up on the wings of eagles and we will be met in the air. A massive slaughter of man would send the souls of billions skyward at the same time. The rapture doesn’t state that we are alive when we embark skyward.
