Gore urges civil disobedience to stop coal plants

Nobel Peace Prize winner and environmental crusader Al Gore urged young people on Wednesday to engage in civil disobedience to stop the construction of coal plants without the ability to store carbon.
The former U.S. vice president, whose climate change documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” won an Academy Award, told a philanthropic meeting in New York City that “the world has lost ground to the climate crisis.”
“If you’re a young person looking at the future of this planet and looking at what is being done right now, and not done, I believe we have reached the stage where it is time for civil disobedience to prevent the construction of new coal plants that do not have carbon capture and sequestration,” Gore told the Clinton Global Initiative gathering to loud applause.

“I believe for a carbon company to spend money convincing the stock-buying public that the risk from the global climate crisis is not that great represents a form of stock fraud because they are misrepresenting a material fact,” he said. “I hope these state attorney generals around the country will take some action on that.”
The government says about 28 coal plants are under construction in the United States. Another 20 projects have permits or are near the start of construction.

Should they also damage Al Gore’s home and businesses to prevent the massive amount of carbon that they emit?
When Al’s own personal carbon footprint is as low as mine, I might listen to him. But seeing as it is more than 20 times greater than mine, I label him a hypocrite and charlatan of the highest order.

What Al “Noah” Gore is failing to mention is that an inventor recently unveiled a magnet turbine which requires no power source, only magnets arranged to create spin, which makes electricity, youtube is a great resource to find inventors working on even..cold fusion.
Its a glorious time if we ignore the elites and just do what we should. The worlds populace will never be free with no mind to be free with.

carbon dioxide is not a pulutant, save the earths plants drive a car that gets really crappy gas milage and belches out tons of carbon dioxide. I drive a 29 foot motorhome. we do not have global warming. do your part to save our plants make as much carbon dioxide wich the plants use to make oxogen for us to breath.

wow, I take Al Gore about as serious as I do G-Dubya. If anyone wants to go perform civil disobediance let them walk on over to the coal plants and do it. Free country folks. Al Gore is full of shiznit and has an electric bill that makes our bills seem like we’re ordering off the value menu of resources. f–k Al Gore. Ill be damned if I pay money for my carbon emissions, and I’ll be damned if I let someone tell me when i should die because i drive a certain car.

I have worked recently at coal fired plants and we had numerous bomb scares that shut work down. Thank you eco-terrorist Gore.
