    Ron Paul

    Tuesday, Nov 10th, 2009

As Washington continues debating healthcare reform the rest of the country is primarily concerned about jobs and the economy. It is still uncertain what policies will be implemented, but I am certain about one thing: It will only further devastate our economy and our dollar.

The leadership has come up with a proposal they are confident will be what they consider fiscally responsible, only to have it scored as nearly twice as expensive by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. Estimates of past healthcare spending programs have been off by as much as 100 percent so there is no telling what the actual cost will be.

The past century should have taught us one thing: that government intervention is expensive. Government programs lend themselves so easily to waste, fraud and abuse. Combine that with overall inefficiency and it all adds up to a hefty price tag for the taxpayer, with not much leftover for actual services. An outright takeover of an entire sector of the economy, especially one as important as healthcare, is something that we just cannot afford for the government to do right now. Not to mention the fact that it is completely unconstitutional. But Washington insists on torturing the numbers and tinkering around the edges rather than facing this truth.

Healthcare Reform Is Economic Malpractice 071009banner3

If healthcare reform does indeed pass, we should not be under the illusion that it will be free. The money to pay for it will have to come from somewhere. They say they will get the money from cutting waste, fraud and abuse, but all of that is seemingly intrinsic to government programs. Since they want to expand the government’s reach we have to assume we will be trading waste, fraud and abuse for waste, fraud and abuse with a bigger budget. The powers that be have insisted the money won’t come from higher taxes, it won’t come from rationing of care, and it won’t come from higher premiums. This can only then put more pressure on the Fed to print the money out of thin air. We already have a weakening dollar. They are accelerating everything that weakened it in the past. Adding this new, monumental pressure could very well be the straw that will break the dollar’s back.

Foreign creditors are already nervous about continuing to invest in the US because of our skyrocketing debt. The explosion of debt that is certain to accompany the enactment of this national health care bill can only add to that nervousness.

Ironically, enactment of the health care bill could help the cause of liberty by hastening the day when Congress is forced by economic circumstances to stop increasing the welfare-warfare state and return to the Constitution.

There are many problems with our current healthcare system, to be sure. There are many tragic stories to be told. However, we need to look at the root of our problems in order to address them properly. More government intervention and bureaucracy injected into healthcare will take a flawed system and make immeasurably worse.

This analysis is based on what? Again, whatever the House approved will need to be reconciled with a bill approved by the Senate. We have no clue what that looks like yet, so this editorial is little more than idle speculation.

What Ron Paul refuses to say, but is quite obvious, is that the entire Congress, Senate, and Executive branch are completely controlled by enemies of the US. The chosen people have a 2500 year or more history of doing to other civilizations what they are doing to the US right now. If leeches, ticks, mosquitoes, and other blood drinking, disease spreading parasites were attacking your body, it is a sure thing that you would rid yourselves of that pest as quickly as is possible.

Why has Humanity allowed these chosen vampires to do what they do for so long. How about next time, instead of kicking them somewhere else, just finish the job and get rid of them forever. Giving them to someone else is surely the worse of curses exceeding any overt act of war.

Cutting through the stinky stuff, the New Testament was written by mystics and Jesus was a metaphor for the Sun. Without a doubt, Jesus referred to the chosen blood drinkers as children of the devil. If that is not an indictment, then certainly the next 2000 years of devil like behavior is.

Ron Paul let everyone down when he did not support Alex Jones in 911 truth. He enjoyed the national attention for a few months, comes off like a hero, but him and his family do not eat bullets. He really is just the good cop in this grand illusion.

Health Care isn’t ‘free.’ It never was. Citizens of other countries with universal care have always paid a monthly premium into a massive cooperative pool, some years not, if there was a tax surplus; at least until this ‘crisis’, anyway. This ugly financial crisis cannot be so conveniently hung on the basic backs of possibly providing u.s. citizens health care, when the poor or suddenly unemployed will most certainly need it more than ever. What I think he means is that it’s another stick to add to the pile, and he’s not wrong about that. A good health care program would cost markedly less than what the average citizens are paying in huge premiums now. Concern towards the viability of the middleman Insurance industry, however, would be on the money. Even in countries with social health care, citizens who wish to pay the bigger money for private care can. So anyone who would rather pay the bigger dollars will always be able to, and if they fall upon hard times, they will still have care.

    6. Geolibertarian Says:

If there’s one thing I’m absolutely certain of, it’s that we can no more complain our way out of this problem than we can borrow our way out of debt.

As my favorite author once put it:

“Social reform is not to be secured by noise and shouting; by complaints and denunciation; by the formation of parties, or the making of revolutions; but by the awakening of thought and the progress of ideas. Until there be correct thought, there cannot be right action; and when there is correct thought, right action *will* follow. Power is always in the hands of the masses of men. What oppresses the masses is their own ignorance, their own short-sighted selfishness.” — Henry George, Social Problems, p. 242

Either We the People (a) organize across both party and ideological lines at the grassroots level for the purpose of exerting aggressive, non-stop pressure on Congress to implement reform measures that most of us agree on, or (b) spend the rest of our “lives” as impoverished SLAVES to a tiny handful of criminal, parasitic, ruling class oligarchs.

    7. Sheryl Says:

Free health care all ways around like in UK under NHS.

But if you drink or have the obesity epidemic, then no healthcare for you.

Needless to say, filthy smokers will always be excluded – can go to some back alley quack if they want any health care spent on that lot.

    8. preach avis Says:

    10. The Truth Says:

Over many years we have all been lied to by our Governments, but not just our Governments but many religous leaders. Many things we have been taught are not even in Scripture and millions have swallowed so many lies by these false prophets. If you are a truth seeker please visit the following web site and take the time to read some of the articles, you will be shocked.

    11. Billo Says:

Another day, another insult to the American people. Did you see the beeming smile on Nancy Pelosi’s face. She looked like she had just won the lottory. Maybe she did. She must have a lot of stock in health insurance companies. This country would be better off without the congress and the Presidency. They don’t work for us, they work against us.
I’m for a single payer system like Canada has.
