  • Homeland Security to scan fingerprints of travellers exiting the US

The US Department of Homeland Security is set to kickstart a controversial new pilot to scan the fingerprints of travellers departing the United States.

From June, US Customs and Border Patrol will take a fingerprint scan of international travellers exiting the United States from Detroit, while the US Transport Security Administration will take fingerprint scans of international travellers exiting the United States from Atlanta.

Biometric technology such as fingerprint scans has been used by US Customs and Border Patrol for several years to gain a biometric record of non-US citizens entering the United States.

But under the Bush Administration, a plan was formulated to also scan outgoing passengers.

Michael Hardin, a senior policy analyst with the US-Visit Program at the United States Department of Homeland Security told a Biometrics Institute conference today that the DHS will use the data from the trial to “inform us as to where to take [exit screening] next.”

“We are trying to ensure we know more about who came and who left,” he said. “We have a large population of illegal immigrants in the United States – we want to make sure the person getting on the plane really is the person the records show to be leaving.”

    4. prospector Says:

Stop flying if at all possible. I don’t travel outside the country, so it’s not a problem. In the country I drive. May take longer, but fewer hassles. Fewer terrorist attacks on automobiles, & I don’t have to set next to anybody, and can pull over if there’s any mechanical problem.

“We have a large population of illegal immigrants in the United States – we want to make sure the person getting on the plane really is the person the records show to be leaving.”

You have GOT to be kidding me. THIS is your rationale! And THIS after a porous border and possible amnesty schemes. This is nothing but a lame excuse for further fascism. The government could care less about illegals – and they’ve shown it.

What we ARE seeing is two things – using tourism as an excuse to compile biometric information on law abiding people AND gradually making it so difficult to travel outside the US that people give up – and stay put. The border controls now being instituted along the Canadian border are not so much to keep people out of the US but, in the future, to keep us IN.

I just want my kids to be happy. They are protecting us from the evil terrorists like Osama and Kim Jong who are planning to hurt our children. Oh my!!! If more Americans would just take their psychotropics, eat McDonalds, and watch good quality, prime-time television, they would be happy like us!! WEEEEE!!! Oh, Hanah Montana is on!!!

    10. William Morgan _ American Hero Says:

Ya know who first pushed the whole idea of fingerprinting everyone (not just those charged with crimes) via a newsreel that people saw at the movies? It was cross-dressing homosexual and 33rd degree Freemason J. Edgar Hoover along with Illuminati head JD Rockefeller II who stood next to the queer geting himself fingerprinted to help promote the propaganda that it’s a good idea for all. Guess who also else did the same with Hoover- Walt Disney and FDR, both top Freemasons. The famous signature of Walt used as the Disney Inc. logo has three 6’s in it.
      From http://jimfisher.edinboro.edu/forensics/univ1.html it says:
The movement to fingerprint noncriminals really got underway in America in the mid-1930’s at the height of the great crime wave. During this period J Edgar Hoover used the media and exploited public fear of crime to make his case. He even got people like John D. Rockefeller, Jr., Walt Disney, and President Roosevelt to have themselves printed.

Austin, Texas will begin finger scanning people that are pulled over starting this Saturday. I’m pissed that our appointed officials would allow this, not only in our state but also in our country. I don’t understand how idiots could sit there and except all this BS, “Because it’s going to protect our children” right? BS. If we were really worried about terrorist we would shut the border down, but instead we allow our country to be flooded with undocumented immigrants.

      Evidence:

“We are trying to ensure we know more about who came and who left,” he said. “We have a large population of illegal immigrants in the United States ”

I leave you with some intresting quotes from the book Propagana written by Edward L Bernays:

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society”.

“It might be better to have, instead of propaganda and special pleading, committees of wise men who would choose our rulers, dictate our conduct, private and public, and decide upon the best types of clothes for us to wear and the best kinds of food for us to eat”.

      Edward L Bernays

This is an effective threat against the older cops, but they’re not telling the younger skinhead cops about it and that can be PERSONALLY liable and the state won’t pay their legal expenses.
I had a log talk with one of the skinheads about this. It scared the crap out of him. Even if he wins it could cost him every dime he has just for defense.

    15. This American Says:

What citizens are going to continue seeing more and more of are oppressive totalitarian roadblocks intentionally put in their path that will continue to antagonize and dehumanize them to the point they will simply stop flying, stop going out, stop buying, stop watching state-run media, and start finding activities and pasttimes that don’t require one to be a part of the Beast System.

Sometimes I think really this is one of the main intentions of the War on Privacy and the War on Liberty, to escalate the Great Downsizing of America, to wreck it finanacially, socially and politically, so that the All Seeing All knowing All Watchful Eye of Whor-us can reign in it’s fascistic ‘order out of chaos’ in one great last takeover attempt of all of the world’s systems.

This Elitist attack and attempted total enslavement of society I think may well culminate in a “final battle” between those very tiny few who wish to play god over their fellow citizens and those who know and believe they have a right to exist and some things are worth dying for.

Perhaps the world may yet see “Armageddon”.

    16. mike Says:

now thats really fucked up, i travel a lot overseas they will have to force me to give them a fingerprint, and they will be hospitalized,,, them basterds

    17. Brandon Says:

I fly frequently to and from Europe. I find that traveling with your passport should be enough. It has always worked before. The passport number is entered at your boarding gate at the airport, then scanned and stamped at your port of entry. Same goes from when you fly back into the U.S.

It’s enough that when you fly internationally that you are subject to two to three different security check points. As well, the U.S. and your port of destinations are well aware of your arrival/departure.

There is nothing good that will come of fingerprinting travelers, and it’s a complete waste of money to impliment a system like this, when there is system already in place that has done just fine.

    18. GreatWhiteNorth Says:

      No fingerprinty, no travelly.
Glad I don’t live there, but it will be coming my way soon, no doubt.
It would be easy to frame anyone for anything once you had their prints.
This procedure may not initially be for sinister reasons, but there are always sinister
and corupt people who find a way to turn systems to their advantage.

    19. anon Says:

Scanning fingerprints cannot prevent terrorism. If you have a terrorist’s fingerprints stored, then surely you’ve already captured that terrorist, and therefore he isn’t a threat.

This whole thing is about tracking the movements of humanity.

    20. Kim "ill" Jon Says:

Ahhhh, thats right….keep talking about it!

I have no fingerprints also. I’ve had jobs where they couldn’t hire me because they kept trying to fingerprint me, and nothing. I think the bleach ruined my hands. Retina scan? I had eye surgery, I’d like to see them try that, too.

    28. observer Says:

For those of you better adept at understanding beaurocratese; am I correct in assuming that when Canadians or Mexicans legally visit the United States and then seek to exit back for home; they will be biometrically scanned?

So far, I’m not aware of this being U.S. policy.

In true democracies, in free nations, fingerprinting has traditionally been used on those convicted of crimes and those whose high security jobs require bonding. (Certain banking, military and governmental positions.)

The mass of the general population was not fingerprinted and SHOULD NEVER be
fingerprinted. Biometrically or otherwise. This is turning into a 1984 nightmare scenario. And
after this, in x amount years time, after perhaps some false flag incident occurs; what will they be demanding of people then; biometric scans to enter and use a public building? And then what; micro chipping of people to buy and sell? In the name of security of course.

The U.S. is supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. Not the land of the enslaved and surveilled.

“They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary
safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

have, nor do they deserve, either one.”
