HONOLULU — Debra Duggan-Takagi said she did her civic duty and answered the U.S. census.
“I filled out the regular census. I’m an amateur genealogist so I really appreciate people in the future having that information, and so I filled it out and sent it in the next day,” Duggan-Takagi said.
Then she got another form with a lot more questions, also administered by the U.S. Census Bureau, called the American Community Survey.
Duggan-Takagi objected to the personal questions contained in the survey.
“They’re highly invasive, very personal and things I don’t want people to know,” Duggan-Takagi said.
