In Israeli jail, McKinney expects more from Washington

Former US lawmaker Cynthia McKinney, who is in an Israeli jail for trying to take humanitarian aid to Gaza, says the White House has done nothing to secure her release.
Speaking to Press TV from inside the Israeli jail, she said US taxpayers paid for Israel’s 22-day war on the Gaza Strip.
“Operation Cast Lead was made possible by the US taxpayers’ gift to the Israeli war machine in the form of F16s, helicopters gunship, white phosphorous, depleted uranium, cluster bombs and anything that kills,” she told Press TV from inside the Israeli jail on Saturday.

McKinney has been in Israeli custody since Tuesday when she and 20 other humanitarian activists were arrested by the Israeli Navy while trying to take humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.
She also criticized US President Barack Obama and his special envoy for their policies in the region, saying she was seeking to do what “neither President Obama nor his special envoy has done and that is to visit Gaza in the aftermath of Operation Cast Lead.”
McKinney along with her group refused to sign a document admitting they violated Israel’s blockade soon after they were taken to custody.

There is no question that Israel is a massive human rights violator, but this should not be confused with zionism. The way Israel came into being did not have to happen the way it did. I see many different people stubbornly clashing here over ideology, when it is simply not appropriate. The facts in this article are quite clear. The West Bank in Gaza is not presently an active war-zone (although day-to-day life in the region would seem otherwise). This woman, Cynthia McKinney, and her associates aboard the ship that was seized were attempting to transport humanitarian aid via international waters. Food, clothes, and children’s toys. Now they are in prison.
You should look inside yourself and decide what you stand for. I do not mean nationalistically or even ideologically in the religious sense, just basic humanity. Is this situation just in any sense?
It is a shame that so many misguided Israeli citizens are taking this opportunity to transfer their sentiments regarding Obama’s mild-mannered attempt to intervene in the Palestinian holocaust and branding McKinney as some sort of deserving terrorist sympathizer. Wake up Jews of the world, the zionist state of Israel is an atrocious travesty. It was taken by force from the indigenous people who lived there for countless generations when the Balfour Convention was introduced by an influential group of jewish businessmen to the British parliament during WW2. Now “Israel” is the only nation that refuses to abide by any humanitarian or nuclear proliferation laws and possesses hundreds of nuclear weapons to protect their stolen land. They justify their crimes with exaggerated mythology claiming every person murdered by Hitler was a Jew, and they deceive countless people with their zionist controlled corporate media to twist facts and hide the truth, so that they will emerge as the righteous, as the oppressed in all instances. Wake up my friends, we need to dissolve the Israeli government. As Jews we need to live in harmony amongst all people and not seek to create a gated community away from the rest of the world where privilege, excess, and pomp will transform it into another Sodom and Gommora.
