the internet has bugs. all software created by humans do. the internet2 doesn’t make monitoring any easier or harder than on this TCP/IP v4-based internet. in fact, college students on I2 have been enjoying much more anonymity, as the MPAA/RIAA have difficulty monitoring traffic on I2 servers.

many hackers do work for the NSA/Pentagon/MI5/etc. but please understand that a quick trip to a few IRC channels on EFnet would show that there are WAY more 15-year-olds with 30,000-computer botnets just itching for someone to give them money or lulz to launch an attack on a government. they’ve taken down NASA and the NSA on multiple occasions. please spend a small amount of time on a 0-day exploit channel, or at least read a few issues of 2600 or Phrack. our government has a bunch of smart hackers, make no mistake. but there are more of us than there are of them.
