  • Iowa protest aimed at Karl Rove leads to arrests

Four peace activists were arrested on Friday as they attempted to make a “citizens arrest” of Karl Rove, who was one of President George W. Bush’s top aides before leaving the administration last year.

“It should be Karl Rove in that van. War Criminal!” one of a dozen protestors shouted as the four were put into a police van outside a Des Moines country club where Rove spoke at a private state Republican party fundraiser.

Chet Guinn, a retired Methodist Minister, was among those led away.

“To be silent when major crimes are being committed against all humanity makes us accomplices,” Gwinn told reporters just before his prearranged arrest, which took place when protestors stepped past a gate.

The police protect the major criminals…what does that make them? Aiding and abetting crime? We need to clean house and turn the tables, let the pot smokers out and put the cops in. Make room for the criminals in the gov. and let out the guys who didn’t do anything violent. Put the people in who have arranged this mess in Iraq by ‘funding’ it…giving money to a hit man who you know is going to kill children with it is criminal. That’s what the criminals in congress have done.

    2. USMC Says:

When do you wish to start? Americans are so lax I would be surprised if they even noticed this attempt by real Americans to hold someone accountable. Keep clinging to the facade of your normal lives, when they come for you you will have no help. You have been warned, and choose to not listen, so you are complicit for inaction. If you do not stand for something…You are destined to fall for anything..

So Karl Rove is back in the country now?

    4. Frank Costa Says:

Day after day, week after week, year after year it is in our face but rage isn’t in enough hearts.

Great work and kudos to all activists who walk their talk.

Create your own fight brothers and sisters. Anything you are able to do will help…leaflet, grafitti, freeway sign blogging, etc. Don’t let the “private property” BS stop you. A burning dumpster that doesn’t take out a building, paint on walls, none of these things are “wrong” in a nation that is torturing and killing people world wide for their own greed.

This week it IS only 4. In time it will be more, and when the dam breaks……….. the FAT ASS PIECE OF SHIT will be hanging from a rope.

Good on them. Here in New Zealand a group of students just offered a $5,000 reward for anyone who would perform a citizens arrest on that awful bitch Condi Rice who is currently soiling our land with her presence. The Police warned them “don’t even think about it” and, sadly they withdrew the offer. However, they did stand outside the Govt buildings chanting “Condi Rice, not very nice” during a meeting she had with our deluded leaders who were kissing her butt bigtime. Especially the liar supreme, Winston Peters. Fight the bastards till the end.

    7. Revolution is my name!!! Says:

Now there are some good Americans!!!

    8. Steve Williams Says:

I have nothing but vulgar obscenities to say about Rove who is truly a walking, talking example of sheer evilness.

    9. Sad Recent Victim of HPD Says:

We just don’t know what to do! I think that’s the problem. We are facing terrible corruption here in Houston, but, it’s hard to fight when you are nearly dead, you’ve lost family – and then they SWAT team your husband at work. Then you’re facing a court battle. What do you do? Believe me, I have thought hard and all I could come up with was getting us out of Houston. Houston is full of cruel idiots. And going back to my home where people still have integrity and an understanding of what freedom and patriotism mean. And, I’m from a place like that. I feel pretty safe there. But, there are pockets of a police state here and there. In fact, Texas just seems like one huge mess in terms of its utter lawlessness. I think it’s easier to fight where people around you don’t just throw up their hands and make excuses for the corruption – that’s why Houston has gotten so bad. People actually praise the government here when they break the law – most of them don’t even understand that laws are being broken.

And, I have tried to think of what *could* be done in Houston, but I can’t come up with anything. It would take a big organization of like-minded people to carry out the elimination of the criminals and traitors in the government here. I don’t know how you that could be done – especially here. These are the meanest, most incredibly stupid people on the whole.
