A senior Iranian military official has rejected the speculations that the US and Israel might launch an attack against the country.
“The enemy does not have the courage to carry out military action against our country. The risks of attacking Iran have increased dramatically in the enemy’s calculations,” Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) naval commander, Admiral Morteza Saffari told reporters on Tuesday.
Saffari said the IRGC Navy was ready to a give a ‘crushing response’ to any aggression. He said that Iranian forces have pinpointed the enemy’s weakness, devised the best defensive strategy, and equipped themselves with ‘smart and sophisticated military hardware’.
The Admiral’s comments come in the wake of American and Israeli threats against the country.

For months now, various officials in Washington and Tel Aviv have used threatening rhetoric against Iran over Tehran’s refusal to comply with the West’s demands to halt its nuclear program.
The latest threats came from Republican presidential nominee Senator John McCain, who said that he would order a preemptive strike on Iran if there were information that the country had acquired a nuclear weapon.
