Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said Tuesday Iran is ready to confront any attack.
As to Iran’s defense readiness to confront the US and Zionist regime’s recent threats to attack the country, Vahidi said, “We have already said that Iran’s defense capabilities in different fields are very high and up-to-date including in naval and missile domains and we are able to confront any threat.”
He added, “Recent threats against Iran were mostly media smear campaign and I believe it shows western countries’ weakness in dealing with Iran.”
Vahidi added, “Zionist regime has faced many internal disputes. The U.S. faces fundamental crises such as Occupy Wall Street, but the West’s threats lack any value for us and we are ready to confront any ignorance by the enemy strongly.”
As to Iran’s presence in high seas, the defense minister said, “Iran’s marine presence in different districts of the world was due to the country’s need and off course the presence is peaceful and not threatening. It is Iran’s right to be present in high seas. We are seeking to be present in international waters.”
