  • Iran satellite launch a failure: U.S. official

    Reuters
    Tuesday, Aug 19, 2008

Iran’s attempt to launch a dummy satellite into orbit was a “dramatic failure” that fell far short of the country’s assertions of success, a U.S. official said on Tuesday

“The attempted launch failed,” the official said.

“The vehicle failed shortly after liftoff and in no way reached its intended position,” the official said. “It could be characterized as a dramatic failure.”

Iran, embroiled in a standoff with the West over its nuclear ambitions, said on Sunday it has put a dummy satellite into orbit on a home-grown rocket for the first time, using a technology that could also be used for launching weapons. Iran says it has no nuclear-weapons plans and that it seeks nuclear technology to generate electricity.

Iranian television showed the rocket on its launch pad, but did not show the actual lift-off.

“The failed launch shows that the purported Iranian space program is in its nascent stages at best — they have a long way to go,” the U.S. official said.

WTF? In engineering you ‘fail’ so that you succeed. Iran’s space program will generate vast amounts of blow-back in its university education programs, encouraging each new years worth of post-grads to gain expertise in a whole multiplicity of related disciplines.

This fact alone is why the talk of limited air strikes on Iran is nothing but a zionist smokescreen. The violent jewish extremists of Israel (and their team in the US and EU) want nothing short of the opportunity to butcher every higher educated Iranian, and to do this requires a genocidal invasion.

When Israeli trained Georgian death squads invaded Ossetia, their first mission was to exterminate all the doctors, teachers, politicians, artists, military leaders etc, neutering the region forever. So confident were they that they could achieve this quickly, that the invading force was intended en masse to move out and do the same in the other break-away region three days later. If the Russians had not been pre-warned, the Georgians would have activated their Israeli designed assassination list operation. As things turned out, the Georgians only had chance to randomly butcher thousands of civilians.

Every single scientist and engineer in Iran is marked for murder by Israel.

Iran is very impressive technologically. Not because they are at the same level of technical expertise as the US, but because they are independently learning the technology themselves rather than just buying prebuilt technolog y. The challenges of developing rocketry have already been pioneered elsewhere, it is just a matter of Iran learning to manufacture the rockets themselves. I have no doubt that they will succeed eventually, and more power to them.

I think they can be trusted not to misuse the technology more than any other nation. How many thousands of years has it been since Iran took aggressive action against another country? How many days has it been since the US has?

thats because they dont want to be backstabbed by the US, and because their doing it on their own its pissed the US off, because now they cant make money from them so our own gov is going to make it seem worse than it is, and make up an excuse to invade

    6. TIMETOREBEL Says:

Why do you need to attack them if they can’t even send a satellite into orbit?
