The events of the last two days surrounding the Iranian missile tests once again highlight that the perception of any threat Iran poses to the U.S. and even to Israel is wholly manufactured and has been blown out of all proportion by the Western media and, by proxy, the two presidential candidates.
Several defense analysts reiterated yesterday that the missile test, far from being a show of strength on the part of the Iranians was another reminder of their supreme lack of fire power.

It is estimated that Hezbollah in Lebanon now has between 20,000 to 40,000 Katushya-type rockets that the Israeli Defense Ministry says can hit any point in Israel. Hezbollah proved during the recent Israeli invasion of Lebanon that it could deliver such rockets to targets in Israel even while the Hezbollah forces and their rocket launchers were under direct attack by the Israelis.
Previously, Hezbollah’s rockets have carried warheads with conventional munitions. There is no reason why those Hezbollah rockets could not be armed with chemical, biological, or radiological (dirt nuke) warheads, or even a combination of all three. Hezbollah is allied with Iran, and Israel risks a rain of Hezbollah rockets if Israel attacks Iran.

Iran has, I believe,has at least 65 medium range nuclear tipped cruise missiles. I will give you 3 guesses as to where they obtained these missiles from? As long as the US remain in Iraq they will not launch them on Israel. The saber rattling you hear on the news is well planned to get the US into invading Iran. Back in Jan of 07 a war plan was initiated with 2 planned invasion dates of Iran: 8 Apr 07 and 15 Oct 07. They would be proceeded by a Nuclear 9/11 in this country (7 Apr 07 D.C, 14 Oct 07 Salt Lake) followed by a quick invasion of Iran. This was the reason for the troop build up in Iraq. Now we are again planning this, only our troops are in Afghanistan – it is planned for late October 08. 253-686-6290

Ok Dr. Mount, you’ve peaked my curiosity; where did Iran get their nukes? Allow one one guess, though; was it from the U.S. in the mid 90’s when Al Gore made some sort of “arrangement” with Iran? Other than that, I have no idea, other than one of the nuclear powers.

You people are morons if you think Iran doesn’t have any missiles. I know most of the readers here are not that stupid. I mean come on, what about all the rockets they bought from China and Russia. Not to mention the fact that they helped build and supply Hezbollah which defeated Israel in the 2006 Lebanon war. The war mongers are gonna be buried by missiles in the American bases in Iraq and in the war state of Israel. Iran is a nation not a small militia like Hezbollah.

Isner Hezbollah is not controlled by Israel like your Hamas buddies. Does Hezbollah ever launch missiles into Israel while declaring peace? Hell during the cease fire during the 2006 war all their guns and missiles were silent. They are a well organized Islamic resistance group. Hassan Nasrallah is definitely not a tool of the Zionist regime.

The second 9-11 is inevitable. The Anglo-American agenda demands it, and that it be nuclear in scale. I been saying this for the past 2-3 years, although I’m sure many others saw it long before I did.
A nuclear 9-11 type event will allow the crime syndicate running UK-USA to wage nuclear pre-emptive war anywhere, without let or hindrance from the rest of the “international community”. It will give them the “moral high ground” to justify it as a national security measure, feeding off worldwide hysteria and outrage surrounding the event. They will castigate and swiftly move against the patsied perpetrator, most likely Iran.
Even right now, the western economies are in free fall and there is a looming contrived food and energy crisis (not to mention the bogus manmade climate change issue), so the economic repercussions of such an event need not be seen as a reason to preclude its occurence. If anything, it all points to a “perfect storm” scenario, complete with martial law, suspension of due process and elections, a mass roundup of everyone on the “Main Core” (or equivalent) list, seizure of assets, the imposition of a hardcore draft, heavily restricted travel and either a locked down internet or one that only permits misinformation. Bloggers and dissidents will most certainly be targetted in the immediate aftermath of this event and ought to have their contingency plans already well established.
The only questions remaining that I can see are where and when.

I think that Ahmadinejad did it again! He already showed he can use the media as a weapon. Remember the humiliation the empire had to suffer when he treated the 15 young pirates captured in iranian waters as humans and finally, as an act of superiority gave them freedom (and lots of shame)? This guy is not as stupid as the empire want us to believe. The message he sent by so evidently “doctoring” the pictures was: “I’m not dangerous, It’ll be hard for you to convince somebody else to join your crusade” but at the same time he showed power on the eyes of his own citizens… Well done, Ahmadinejad!!!

Remember, the weaker Iran appears on the eyes of the western brainwashed public, the harder is going to get for the empire to sell them a campaign agains Iran. That’s the sense of showing 2 pictures and very clearly “doctored” from the same scene. I really do not believe he’s going to allow anybody to just stand there and take a picture from his real missiles taking off, do you?

Religion for mind control? Yes, I agree, most of it is mischievously used for that purpose, including secular humanism which owns your atheistic worldview. Ultimately everyone has a “religion” as everyone has a core belief system that guides their morals, so your argument is seriously amiss.

Sporidium, I agree with you. I’m atheist myself and atheism itself IS a belief. I believe there is/are no god/s and that’s it. I can’t prove it one way or the other – I’m just more convinced myself that this is the case.
Now, does this mean that others should stop believing in what ever it is that they believe in? Of course not – I’ll let others believe what they want and I expect the same from the others.
Religion may be a “drug”, but as long as it’s not politically misused and “overdosed” on a society as a whole, I believe it’s a good – and in some cases even a necessary “drug” as it keeps hopes up when nothing else does for some people.
The problem is that there are people in high places who try to deliberely create circumstances in which a misuse of religion(s) becomes possible – and unfortunately that’s the case both in Iran as well as in Israel – but also in the US.
Religion may have (self)heeling powers, but an overdose can easily make people blind too.

The attack on Iran is a Jew ploy… they want America to be defeated, they did the same in Germany when they convinced Hitler to attack the Soviet Union.

@Sporidium: The beliefs of Stalin, Mao, and so on are a form of state worship. In those societies there is an absence of god because god is the state. If you think communisim is a microcosim of athieism, you are mistaken. An antheist can be a communist, capitalist, and even an founding father or a U.S. President, i.e Thomas Jefferson or Thomas Paine. That being said, the persuit of true freedom and liberty does not require a celestrial endorsment. You just refuse to acknowledge the paralells between religion and a secular dictatorship out of fear of hell. Again, you have the explaining to do not me. Therefore sir, your argument seriously amiss.

@billybob: I never said anything in contradiction to the wide scope of atheists’ approaches to liberty, so you commenting on it now points to you misunderstanding the bones of what I wrote.
To recap, you asserted that all professing Christians are as bad as the idiot faction among them that votes for Bush, thereby tarring us all with the same brush (yes, I’m a Christian), and I merely highlighted the folly of such logic by providing you with a comparison in the realm of atheists. That was my point, so your non sequitor comments in your comeback about me having explaining to do are irrelevant to my post.
One thing I will make clear in addressing a point you raised in your comeback is that Christians do not act merely on fear of displeasing God. Some of us actually act out of love for Him and love for moral rectitude, for which reason no educated true Christian could support any form of government that seeks to tyrannise its people. In other words, being a Christian should make a man a lover of liberty. That said, many if not most who profess to be Christians are not true believers at all. They just play along with it because it’s good for business and public image, especially in a dumbed down America.
