It’s bonfire night, and once again poor old Guido gets it.
Up and down the country he will be burned in effigy for the dastardly crime of trying to blow up the Houses of Parliament over 400 years ago.
But wait — after all the moats, duck houses and house-flipping of the past 12 months, should it not now be conceded that he might have had a point, even if his methods were a little extreme?

With Westminster held in little more than contempt by many people who have been appalled at the greed and sharp practice of some of our MPs, surely Guy Fawkes should — maybe for just one year — be regarded as more of a hero than a villain. A sort of sabbatical from the day job.
That of course would leave a vacancy on top of all the woodpiles stacked waiting and ready for tonight.
Who should we put there instead?

And on 9/11/2001, plotters embedded in the US government, working on a Project for a New American Century, faked the pretext for a Clash of Civilizations – and a neo-fascist world order.

these days bonfire night is more of an excuse to party and let off fireworks than it is to remember how close we came to usurping the goverment and the monarchy. so who to put in place? hmmmmm sooo many choices! currently you can take your pick of a number of uk gov politicians.

Bonfire night is a celebration of Guy Fawkes failed attempt
the only thing wrong is we put Guy on the bonfire
not effigies of the villains who would of been blown away if successful.

Second hand smoke from bonfires is a FACT and it is a dangerous deadly lethal killer.
The government should ban bonfires and Guy Fawkes day on grounds it is unhealthy and dangerous, and that should be the end of it.
I am certain the BBC could show a picture of a bonfire on the telly and everyone could stay at home watching that and it would be just as good.
Second hand smoke is a KILLER – bonfires should be banned already. This is a modern progressive liberal country. Why isn’t Labour doing more to ban these hateful and DEADLY bonfire displays.
Perhaps the EU will ban it come next year if Labour is unwilling to step up to the plate.

Why the English should celebrate the death of one of their own and who was only trying to blow up a Scotsman King James is beyond me.
James interogated Guy himself, and asked him why he tried to kill him.Guy replied ” I wanted to blow you Scottish Beggars back to your mountains” the twin crisis in the UK at the moment of devolution
