Israeli army chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi says all options must be prepared and on the table to counter Iran’s nuclear activities.
“We are all united in the view that Iran needs to be prevented from obtaining a nuclear weapon,” Israel radio Thursday quoted Ashkenazi, who was making an official visit to the US.
There is no doubt that diplomatic activity and sanctions are preferable, but the US and Israel realize that all options must be prepared, he added.

The United States and Israel, accuse Iran of pursuing a secret nuclear weapons program, but the allegations are categorically denied by the Islamic Republic. Both Washington and Tel Aviv possess advanced weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear warheads.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regularly conducts inspections of Iran’s nuclear sites, whereas IAEA inspectors have to date been denied access to Tel Aviv’s nuclear facilities.
At least 14 surprise inspections carried out by the UN nuclear watchdog at Iran’s nuclear sites have found nothing to support the allegations.
