Israel asked US for green light to bomb nuclear sites in Iran

Israel gave serious thought this spring to launching a military strike on Iran’s nuclear sites but was told by President George W Bush that he would not support it and did not expect to revise that view for the rest of his presidency, senior European diplomatic sources have told the Guardian.
The then prime minister, Ehud Olmert, used the occasion of Bush’s trip to Israel for the 60th anniversary of the state’s founding to raise the issue in a one-on-one meeting on May 14, the sources said. “He took it [the refusal of a US green light] as where they were at the moment, and that the US position was unlikely to change as long as Bush was in office”, they added.
The sources work for a European head of government who met the Israeli leader some time after the Bush visit. Their talks were so sensitive that no note-takers attended, but the European leader subsequently divulged to his officials the highly sensitive contents of what Olmert had told him of Bush’s position.

Bush’s decision to refuse to offer any support for a strike on Iran appeared to be based on two factors, the sources said. One was US concern over Iran’s likely retaliation, which would probably include a wave of attacks on US military and other personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as on shipping in the Persian Gulf.
The other was US anxiety that Israel would not succeed in disabling Iran’s nuclear facilities in a single assault even with the use of dozens of aircraft. It could not mount a series of attacks over several days without risking full-scale war. So the benefits would not outweigh the costs.

Maybe the National Socialists who have overtaken our government have BIGGER plans than bombing Iran. Maybe they have their eye on the United States. Wouldn’t want some pesky foreign war interfering with that. But what if our own troops were too rightous and true to fire on their own countrymen? This is such a huge deal….If whoever gets into office cuts ties with Israel, which may be the case if they attack Iran, then we as a nation will be subject to judgement. Those bless Israel will be blessed, and those who curse Israel will be cursed. Gen 12:3

In ref. to j’s comment: The United States and Britain ARE Israel. The inhabitants of what is now called Israel are in fact Judah. Take a look at the geneology chart hanging in Buckingham Palace and you will see the Royal Line descending from Judah through David splitting off from Joseph to Ephraim and Manassah. Jacob’s name was changed to “Israel” which means “Prince of God” and he passed that name and the material birthright blessings that go with it ( global military dominance, monetary riches, promised land stretching from sea to (shining) sea, refuge of all nations, a wonder and a curse to all peoples, land of milk and honey, fatness of land, cattle,wheat, corn, etc., etc., ) on to his son Joseph, who was Prince in Egypt. Joseph, ( then renamed Israel ) passed this on to his twin sons Ephraim and Manassah (Ephraim born first.) While bestowing the Birthright blessings, he prophesied “The younger shall be greater than the Elder” causing Manassah to become the dominant nation; “Ye shall become a Great Nation, AND a Commonwealth of Nations” . The younger, Manassah, it was prophesied, would go to war with the elder, and break away and become a greater nation. Both nations would carry the name of Israel, but would lose their identity, and not regain the the true knowledge of who they really were until the “end Times” . God kept his promise that he swore to Abraham Isaac and Jacob in accomplishing this fulfilment regardless of the behavior of these descendents. They obtained this status not because they were “good” people, but because he swore to keep His promise. These people in fact were as brutal and evil as any heathen nations, and in many cases even more so. But once the Birthright was obtained, it was prophesied that they would imediately begin to lose it. At the time of this accomplishment of the Birthright blessings with Israel, ( around 1948 ). God then said ” I will first bring back the tents of Judah. ” This is the first tribe to return to the land of the city of Jerusalem, the Jews. There are two nations: Judah, and Israel, as the Kingdom split in civil war, ( just as Amerca split North and South in the great civil war, the first battle being named, the Battle of Manassah! ) Judah was to carry the “Scepter,” or the Royal Bloodline, and Israel was to carry the Birthright, or material blessings. It has nothing to do with any of them being “good” people. Remember, the Angel of Death passed over the houses that had the blood of a lamb struck on the door posts, regardless of how “good” or “bad” those people were at the time of the Exodus. We are all sinners, and we are spared the judgement by the blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ in the same way. It is exasperating to constantly hear that the United States is not mentioned in the Bible! The greatest SuperPower the world has ever seen, not even mentioned? Ridiculous! There are no fewer than 70 prophesies concerning Israel in the Old Testament, and every one of them are fulfilled in the nations of Great Britain and the United States. The nations of Northern and Western Europe bear the Heraldries ( Coat of Arms ) of ALL of the “Lost Tribes.” No Gentile nation can defeat them in war, they can only defeat each other, and they have certainly been busy doing that for thousands of years. There can be no peace without the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ coming back to this Earth; but I’m sure the world will first recieve another, coming in his own name, and exalt him, to the damnation of many.
