Israel: Facing War On Two Fronts?

Israeli forces have fired mortars into Lebanon after rockets fell on northern Israel, the army has confirmed.
The move was “a pinpoint response at the source of fire”, a military spokesman said.
Three rockets hit northern Israel the area near the town of Nahariya, five miles south of the Lebanese border.

Two elderly women were lightly wounded by one of the rockets, according to Israeli medical staff.
The Israeli military had been on alert for attacks by Lebanon’s Hizbollah since Israel launched its operation on Gaza. Northern Israel previously came under attack from Hizbollah during a war in the summer of 2006 which involved a major Israeli ground offensive.
Sky’s Middle East correspondent Dominic Waghorn, on the Israel-Gaza border, said: “If it is Hizbollah, it is a major development. It means Israel will have to fight a war on two fronts.”

Wouldn’t it be easier for Israel to seriously negotiate all claims rather than endlessly being at war with its neighbors?
The U.S. administration can force the issue by not giving away money, but they don’t. Why? Are foreigners and their lackeys running our government?

Meanwhile, you have intelligence in Pakistan and India, trying to get them to go to war. Can anyone say WWIII? I now think the whole point of this is to create situations so that U.S. taxpayers will pay more money now that there is an open vein to take advantage of. People don’t matter — money matters — taxpayers paying for owners benefits.

I am still wondering what Colin Powell meant by his “international Crisis” comment?
He basically said 21st-22nd of jan.
Then the Evil Biden also seemed to suggest that Something is coming.
That all tied in with the current Israel/ Gaza thing, and the India/ Pakistan tensions, along with the world economic state and the Russian s flexing their muscles again, We are clearly looking at some bad stuff to come.
Wars do indeed provide ways out of depression and they do kick start economies, but only at the expense of innocent people.

A massacre of an imprisoned and defenseless population is not a war. This is being done now in the last days of the Bush administration so that when Obama takes office he can appear to have clean hands. Perhaps by the time he’s sworn in, Israel will feel like it has regained it’s mojo after having their ass handed to them in Lebanon and cease the wanton slaughter of Palestinians. I would like to see how these heroes would fare against an equally armed opponent.
