Israel ‘ready to act’ over Iran

Israel’s defence minister has warned of his country’s readiness to act against Iran if it feels threatened.
Ehud Barak, speaking in Tel Aviv, said Israel had “proved in the past that it won’t hesitate to act when its vital security interests are at stake”.
He spoke as Iran’s testing of missiles that could reach Israel stoked tensions between the two, and with the US.
But Mr Barak added that diplomatic solutions should be pursued before other options were taken up.

“Currently the focus is international sanctions and vigorous diplomatic activity, and these avenues should be exhausted,” he said.
US warning
Over the past two days, the Iranian military has tested missiles, including one that it says could reach Israel.
State media said the tests included the first night launch of the Shahab-3 missile, said to have a range of 2,000km (1,240 miles), along with shore-to-sea, surface-to-surface and sea-to-air missiles.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the US had increased its security in the region and Iran should not be “confused” about US capabilities.

Surely if Iran’s readiness to act in the face of threats had seen them preemptively strike, as Israel is suggesting it should do,
There would be nothing left of Israel or America by now, assuming it had the means, which all strategic thinkers should conclude it does.

I think you need a good dose of reality. A “hope” that Iran and Hezbollah attack Israel, besides being callous and crude, is tantamount to a hope that the Middle East will be the starting point for a new world war. War, the scourge that it is, should be the last thing that any thinking person (which I gather you fancy yourself to be) hopes for.

Israel is full of sh*t.
They may have a big whomping military and an unlimited depth of depravity, but they cannot with all of that either destroy, or even seriously defang; IRAN within two or three weeks even.
However due to simple geographical considerations the following is also a reality. Iran can land enough missiles alone, let alone suicide planes and bombers and missiles from Lebanon and Syria and GOD ONLY knows what else onto Israel’s head to obliterate that tiny wart on a camel’s backside within that same time, Israeli and US strikes notwithstanding.
The Nuclear card is a no brainer. Sure Israel or the USSA can lob Nukes at Iran, but one thing you can be sure of if they do, Israel will wear it too. They are simply too geographically close for such weapons to have any long term meaning beyond mutual destruction. Here these nutters are on one hand telling us the Muslims are Suicidal and ready to die at the drop of a hat or cartoon and on the other they seem to think MAD is a defense strategy against such people?
Well which is it?
I suggest the pragmatic answer is that Iran can survive the worst the US and Israel can throw at it, even without the almost certain intervention of China and Russia, whilst it cripples the USA and triggers its final collapse and sees to the complete and utter annihilation of Israel. They believe this and I think they are right to believe it.

well iran is the second largest oil producer….
iran playing such a big part in oil producing and being hostile to israel and america is not good for the country…
most other oil producing nations have good relations with israel and america,…
iraq and iran are hostile oil producing nations….
iraq was taken over….
now iran is next…. If iran and israel were friends it would all be ok… but there not,,, they hate each other…
So as long as these two country’s have hate to each other,,,
there will be a very real chance of war…..

The USA, Britain, and Israel together form an Axis of Evil that has long been the greatest threat to peace, freedom, justice, and security in the postwar world. Together they perpetrated the 9/11 attacks, London, Madrid, and Bali bombings. The US government committed the Oklahoma City bombing, Berlin disco bombing, and many others. The British MI5 committed many bombings and assassinations that were blamed on the IRA, and the Israelis have attacked and bombed their own people so often it is hard to list them all.
The collapse of the USA will be a welcome event for all of the freedom loving people of the world. If Israel doesn’t want to experience a bombardment like it’s never seen before, the Israelis should learn to act like human beings for a change.

Where the heck were these fine fellows while The Monkey King, Skeletor and their ilk were scamming elections? Since the “ends justify the means”, meaning that whomever the lapdog press says “won”, has won, we could’ve kept His Apeness out of the Oval Office.
