In a muddy field overlooking the smoke-blackened Gaza Strip skyline on Tuesday, young soldiers from an Israeli tank unit linked arms with euphoric civilians and joined them in the hora, a circular dance, in anticipation of a possible ground invasion of the Palestinian territory.
Far overhead, a pair of Israeli Apache helicopters fired on a target inside Gaza, unleashed diversionary flares and disappeared to the north. Elsewhere in the autonomous Palestinian region, Israeli jets, helicopters and ships pummeled the area with new strikes against dozens of targets.
Hour after hour, Israeli jets, helicopters and ships pummeled the region with new strikes against dozens of targets as diplomats took the first tentative steps to head off a ground offensive.
Four days into the Israeli military campaign, the death toll among Palestinians topped 370, including at least 90 civilians, according to U.N. personnel and Palestinian human rights workers.
Palestinian rocket attacks have killed four people on the Israeli side since the offensive began Saturday, and Israel says its military operation won’t end until the rockets stop crashing into Israeli cities.
Gaza militants warned of dire consequences should Israeli leaders launch a new, more dangerous phase of the offensive to destabilize the militant Islamist group Hamas, which controls Gaza, and end the sporadic rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza.

People, left alone, settle their differences so as to preserve their lives and offspring – except when another party continues to incite violence.
Look for whoever has a motive in this madness.
A good place to start is the arms manufacturers that supply the Israelis. Another good place to look is those in the financial sector that have investments tied to the military industrial complex in the U.S.
Those that hold sway over the direction and action of our nations are plainly benefited by war and disarray If we continue to leave them in power, our children and grandchildren will suffer greatly.

The Israeli bombings and the threat of a ground attack is to disperse as many palestinians as possible. This would simplify there main purpose of doing as much destruction as possible to
there infrastructure to impede future rocket attacks. Without living facilities and basic utilities
this would greatly hamper there ability for future attacks. I would be surprised if Israel launched a ground attack in the very near future due to the fact Israel is not a country that briefs there enemies as to what they have planned. If a ground should occur I don’t think the palestinians could win a decisive victory but they could inflect heavy casualties upon the Jews,
depending upon the manpower and the equipment available. A lot of the Jews that are dancing now won’t be dancing after the battle. The Israelis may win the war but they will never win the peace. The Arabs are going to be a thorn in there side till the end of time…………………..

apartheid state once and for all. The discourse has been hijacked in
such a way that the urgent calls for the immediate cessation of violence
resuscitate that non-starter, the essentially unjust two states project
that will ensure the continuation of violence.
Alas, the pathology of generating violence against oneself, violence
that suspends reflection on the core apartheid, succeeds only at the
