Appearing on MSNBC this afternoon, Iraq surge architect Fred Kagan criticized direct talks with Iran and made his case for attacking Iran, claiming it is the only means to “force” the country to halt its nuclear program:
Well, there’s nothing we can do short of an attack to force Iran to give up its nuclear program. … At the end of the day, the only way that you can make for sure that [a nuclear arm’s race] doesn’t happen is with an attack. There are a variety of things you can do short of an attack and hope that they will work, but hope is not a method here.

Why doesn’t Congress authorize spending a few million in a media campaign directed toward the Iranian people to unseat their leader and to get a new guy in there? Just like polls that say 70% of Americans don’t want Mr. Bush for President (but his impeachment is being blocked in Congress by the DEMOCRATS), [I would guess that] the majority of Iranians disagree with their leader and do not want to go to war over nuclear enrichment, that would be madness. If you were an Iranian citizen would you wish to risk WWIII over a few nuclear power plants? But from their point of view maybe THEY are the ones who feel threatened because they are sitting on billions of barrels of oil with superpower battleships in the Gulf and already nuclear armed Israel threatening THEM. Could Mr. Bush and Mr. Ahmedinejhad be puppets like Punch and Judy playing out a drama while the actual puppet master manipulates world events cloaked in the background? If your family needed oil to run their machines and you had battleships and your neighbor had huge oil but no big weapons but was trying to get a big weapon, what would you do? Would you buy the oil or be tempted to steal it and kill your neighbors to erase any protest or evidence of what you did? Six hundred thousand to 2 million dead Iraqis over one man Saddam Hussein, or was it for oil? So many killed, your economy ruined and your oil fields controlled by foreign countries, can you really say that they surge was successful, successful for whom? Do Americans want to do that, kill other people to steal their oil instead of paying for it? Is this being done because without the oil Americans will die, or could fuel alternatives have been easily adopted decades ago? Why suddenly are huge megalith wind towers being pushed (owned by subsidiaries of oil companies?) instead of tax incentives for homeowners to install small wind power stations on their homes and become energy independent when this technology was available in the 1930s through the Rural Electric Authority?

At this point in this nation’s history, with the level of Israeli control on most of our institutions, it is appropriate to now engage in mass resistance to any military drafts for any reason other than defending our soil from physical invasion.
Zionazi’s have done it again, taken control of a nation from its creators and debased, bankrupted and corrupted it.
“That special tribe” has been evicted from approx. 60 countries the last 1700 years(Germany being the latest) and this nation will someday do what is needed if we wish to survive as free men and not slaves.

“Zionism is the best advertised of all present Jewish activities and has exerted a greater influence upon world events than the average man realizes… Zionism is challenging the attention of the world today because it is creating a situation out of which many believe the next war will come…
Just at the present time, when the light which was shed by the fires of war has revealed so many matters formerly hidden in shadow, the awakening of world attention is called “anti-Semitism,” and the explanation is given that “after every war the Jew becomes the scapegoat” -– a curious admission which would lead a less self-centered people to inquire, Why?”

Any politician who says that the only answer is war is a total and complete lunatic! Attacking Iran will heap misery on Americans like they have never felt before. If you thought WW2 was bad you will be in for a very rude awakening in Iran. Send in the sheep.

Obama advisor Zbigniew Brezezinski also warns against attacking Iran. Maybe Obama will take the tack of reason in foreign policy.
TEHRAN (FNA)- Two former US national security advisers have warned against threatening to attack Iran even if negotiations do not immediately stop Iran’s uranium reprocessing program.
“Don’t talk about ‘do we bomb them (Iranians) now or later?” Brent Scowcroft, adviser to presidents Gerald R. Ford and George H. W. Bush, was quoted Washington Post as saying on Wednesday.
By mentioning that threat, “we legitimize the use of force… and may tempt the Israelis” to carry out such a mission, Scowcroft said during a discussion on the negotiations between the United States and Iran.
Zbigniew Brezezinski, adviser to former US president Jimmy Carter, also described the Bush administration’s policy of maintaining the option of military action as “counterproductive.”
“I don’t want the public to believe a preemptive attack can be justified,” he said. Repeating the possibility “convinces Iran it is being threatened… and maybe it ought to have a (nuclear) weapon.”
Brezezinski said that a US attack on Iran would be a “disaster,” suggesting it could result in the US fighting “for at least two decades” on four fronts — Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Just another Neo-Con Israel firster spouting off more reich wing racist propaganda for the Netanyahu Likud crowd. What Israel wants, Israel gets since they are blackmailing all of DC. Facts do not matter in the Zionist spun fairytales. Soon our courts will be Talmudic tribunals, our schools will be Yeshivas, and the New Testament will be read as if Jesus(Joshua) was a misguided Chassidic Rabbi. To descent in America won’t be considered un-patriotic but rather anti-semitic. All this inspired by a mideast Israeli welfare state that wants us to give them their welfare check in Euros. That’s CHUTZPAH !

I don’t believe we will attack Iran. They are backed by Russia AND China, and Russia has declared that if their is an attack on Iran, they will have to protect their interests. An attack would be purely suicidal for Bush and his buddies.

The urgency for Israel is that if there is no mass terror – war is a misnomer – against the 70,000,000 innocents of Iran with the intent of drawing in Russia into a thermo nuclear exchange with America then Israel as the perp of 911 will become known to a critical mass of Americans – and that is only a matter of time.
The only way for Israel to hide the crime of 911 is to commit an even bigger crime in the hope that America and its people are thus terminally wounded, and unless thermo nuclear with Russia results, then all their past crimes against America will be uncovered.
So, as the mass terror against Iran can really wait, but the destruction of America can’t, what makes Israel so sure that WW3 will be the hoped for result ? And why do they in their fond hubristic imaginings of themselves think that they themselves will not be wiped away within days of the serious shit hitting the fan ? As after all, of the tens of thousands of nukes available only a dozen would be used which leaves plenty plenty poised to go, and with breaks in the of chains of command on both sides there will be plenty of missile commanders who will be thinking of Israel with `affection`.
It could be argued that all missiles will be launched at the same time lest the silo or submarine or aircraft itself is destroyed, but that may not happen as the whole planet would die.
More likely it will be a very nervy time as only a few cities will be taken out on a tit for tat basis, before they start talking to each other again.
The other restraint would be that both America and Russia would be acutely aware that Israel would be grinning itself silly on the sidelines waiting to inherit the earth.
And neither Russia nor America will ultimately allow that, and so `accidentally` or through some `rogue` missile commanders, a few missiles would be loosed from both sides, but not at each other.
Is overkill the right word at this point ?

funny how its always the tub-O-lard chicken hawks that are screaming for war..anyone that ever calls for war in a public platform should be required by law to suit up and lead the charge..if that were the case there would be no more war..ever
