Kuwait on alert for war in Persian Gulf?

Kuwait has activated its Emergency War Plan after an armada of US naval battle groups headed for the Persian Gulf, Middle East Times reports.
The report comes after DEBKAfiles claimed on Monday that the USS Theodore Roosevelt, the USS Ronald Reagan, and the USS Iwo Jima are sailing toward the Persian Gulf to reinforce the US strike forces in the region.
The US naval force is accompanied by a British Royal Navy carrier battle group and a French nuclear hunter-killer submarine.

The deployment is believed to be the largest naval task force assembled by the United States and its allies in the region since the Persian Gulf war in 1991.
The move comes nearly a week after Operation Brimstone, which saw more than a dozen warships from US, British and French naval forces conduct war games in the Atlantic Ocean in preparation for a possible confrontation with Iran.
Kuwait, located on the coast of Persian Gulf, has placed its military on ‘war alert’ to avoid being caught off-guard by any possible conflict in the region.
“Kuwait was caught by surprise last time, when Iraqi troops invaded the small emirate and routed the Kuwaiti army in just a few hours,” a former US diplomat to Kuwait told the Middle East Times.
Washington and allies accuse Iran, a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), of pursuing a military nuclear program and have threatened to launch military strikes on Iran should the country continue its uranium enrichment.
The UN nuclear watchdog, International Atomic Energy Agency, has confirmed that Iran’s uranium enrichment does not exceed 3 percent and is therefore within the limits of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
The military build-up in the Persian Gulf comes amid speculation that Israel is lobbying to push the Bush administration to launch a joint attack on Iran before President George W. Bush leaves office in January 2009.

Since america’s recent moral shift from being strongly against torture to being pro torture I have been wondering what happens when you torture an innocent person or someone with no information. What might be the consequences for torturing imprisoning or killing innocent persons? Is it ok to psychologically torture a person out of their mind? Who thinks it’s ok to rob a person of their most precious gifts. We should all learn from the examples and experiments done in the past like the stanford prison experiment and the abu graib scandal.Many excuse and rationalize their behaviour saying I had to or I was just following orders. At what point if any do you disobey orders? There is a reason the United states and many other countries have signed treaties and conventions agreeing not to torture. Now why do they openly violate the treaties they once upheld? Recently the International Red Cross declared the United states guilty of human rights violations and war crimes. What now seperates us from other countries? Maybe we will return to the days of public lynchings or hangings. Personally I do not want to live in a sadistic lawless society.

The EU isn´t much better then the US, but at the moment I am happy to live in Europe. America is really turning into a prison camp this year and if I was living there, I would have left a long time ago.
I don´t understand why people from Europe want to go to the US on holiday or to live, I consider it as a third world country with war thirsty thugs, dictators and robbers in power…

whatever the american forces are doing is wrong. however, this set up is being controlled by the real enemies of muslims and christians , the neocon jews hiding behind christian names in the west in general.
they will cause some incident to let war happen and will then let patriotic passions take their course to get their own way and result. when you have so much war material in close proximity between forces, there is bound to be firing sooner or later.

I am absolutely amazed that among 7 billion population on this prison planet, nobody can deduce the truth of the Islamic regime in Iran.
Look here, in a nutshell, the world HAD and HAS only one unique “government” that plays all the cards.you can call it Illuminati or whatever. when they decided to end the manufactured military-industrial wars between eastern and western blocks in the mid 70’s,they planned to create a TERRORIST HUB in the region to CONTINUE with the role of the soviet union in another guise.
What really happened is that they created an eastern enemy in the beginning of 20th.century( Russian Revolution) to achieve these two goals:
1- Creation of Ordo ab chao, that is ,to force all the eastern countries and all the western countries gather in two united blocks, the East and the West.
The role of Soviet Union as a dummy regime was to confront Europe and USA and strenghten the huge military-industrial complex to create the world’s first superpower capabilities in the USA.After the soviet union role was fulfilled in the end of 70’s, there came the time to unite the now united east with the united west under one umbrella and there were no need for more superpower capabilities because it already existed in a huge and invincible complex in the USA.

2-Now the final stage must take place such that when the superpower capabilities were completed, then it was time to strenghten the NATIONAL SECURITY sector , that is,to create the final scene in terms of seizing all levers of power and declaring a martial law and global dictatorship by criminalization of each and every citizen.In this stage you see at least 16 USA national security agencies working together.
Now what you need to create this political scene as you did in the case of soviet union ? a HUB in the middle east to terrorize and demoralize the world and specially the USA citizens.To paly a dummy role as a big enemy, to send CIA money and oil Dollars to many smaller terrorist groups in the region ( Can you ratify a Federal budget for financing terrorists in the middle East?!) and to furnish weapons for all these groups to keep the region in blood and fire turmoil (Can you allocate Pentagon weaponry to be shipped to Middle Eastern zealous Islamists?!). THAT IS the role of the Islamic Republic in Iran.This regime is just a dummy , a proxy in fact , for the shadow world government that is advancing swiftly.

Also, remember the SAND STORM that jeopardized the Pentagon plot to release those hostages.When the American choppers were based in Tabbas, in Iranian deserts, a huge sand storm sent them to oblivion. Do you know who makes sand storms and other kinds of storms , and tornados and quakes (including Katrina, and Indian ocean tsunami)?
Please just think! The Iranian IMAM Khomeini is promoted widely by the British BBC, settles in a nice Paris suburb to meet all the press and gives false promises to every body, and then flies to Iran in a French plane , gets on an American Chevrolet Blazer and heads to a cemetery!The Time magazine declares him The Man of The Year!
Don’t you see what has happened? Iranian regime ( simultaneously with Saddam Hossein and Taliban in Iraq and Afghanistan) was the substitute for the soviet block dissolution. This time not to strenghten the military power but to create much terror to clear the grounds for the USA police state and EU dictatorship which will be declared very soon indeed.

In the past, intimidation tactics usually amounted to only a carrier being sent, maybe even just a couple of destroyers. This APPEARS to be entirely different. I do do agree with you about the alarmist game. The zombies who don’t care are not affected by the hype; only us who take a real interest and concern are being strung out, some to the limit, of what people can take. It is psychological warfare perfected to the nth degree.
