Law Professor: Counter Terrorism Czar Told Me There Is Going To Be An i-9/11 And An i-Patriot Act

Amazing revelations have emerged concerning already existing government plans to overhaul the way the internet functions in order to apply much greater restrictions and control over the web.
Lawrence Lessig, a respected Law Professor from Stanford University told an audience at this years Fortune’s Brainstorm Tech conference in Half Moon Bay, California, that “There’s going to be an i-9/11 event” which will act as a catalyst for a radical reworking of the law pertaining to the internet.
Lessig also revealed that he had learned, during a dinner with former government Counter Terrorism Czar Richard Clarke, that there is already in existence a cyber equivalent of the Patriot Act, an “i-Patriot Act” if you will, and that the Justice Department is waiting for a cyber terrorism event in order to implement its provisions.

During a group panel segment titled “2018: Life on the Net”, Lessig stated:
There’s going to be an i-9/11 event. Which doesn’t necessarily mean an Al Qaeda attack, it means an event where the instability or the insecurity of the internet becomes manifest during a malicious event which then inspires the government into a response. You’ve got to remember that after 9/11 the government drew up the Patriot Act within 20 days and it was passed.
The Patriot Act is huge and I remember someone asking a Justice Department official how did they write such a large statute so quickly, and of course the answer was that it has been sitting in the drawers of the Justice Department for the last 20 years waiting for the event where they would pull it out.
Of course, the Patriot Act is filled with all sorts of insanity about changing the way civil rights are protected, or not protected in this instance. So I was having dinner with Richard Clarke and I asked him if there is an equivalent, is there an i-Patriot Act just sitting waiting for some substantial event as an excuse to radically change the way the internet works. He said “of course there is”.

Lessig is the founder of Stanford Law School’s Center for Internet and Society. He is founding board member of Creative Commons and is a board member of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and of the Software Freedom Law Center. He is best known as a proponent of reduced legal restrictions on copyright, trademark and radio frequency spectrum, particularly in technology applications.
These are clearly not the ravings of some paranoid cyber geek.
The Patriot Act, as well as its lesser known follow up the Domestic Security Enhancement Act 2003, also known as USA Patriot Act II, have been universally decried by civil libertarians and Constitutional scholars from across the political spectrum. They have stripped back basic rights and handed what have been described by even the most moderate critics as “dictatorial control” over to the president and the federal government.
Many believed that the legislation was a response to the attacks of 9/11, but the reality was that the Patriot Act was prepared way in advance of 9/11 and it sat dormant, awaiting an event to justify its implementation.
In the days after the attacks it was passed in the House by a majority of 357 to 66. It passed the Senate by 98 to 1. Congressman Ron Paul (R-Tex) told the Washington Times that no member of Congress was even allowed to read the legislation.
Now we discover that exactly the same freedom restricting legislation has already been prepared for the cyber world.
An i-9/11, as described by Lawrence Lessig, would provide the perfect pretext to implement such restrictions in one swift motion, as well as provide the justification for relegating and eliminating specific content and information on the web.
Such an event could come in the form of a major viral attack, the hacking of a major city’s security or transport systems, or some other vital systems, or a combination of all of these things. Considering the amount of unanswered questions regarding 9/11 and all the indications that it was a covert false flag operation, it isn’t hard to imagine such an event being played out in the cyber world.
However, regardless of any i-9/11 or i-Patriot Act, there is already a coordinated effort to stem the reach and influence of the internet.
We have tirelessly warned of this general movement to restrict, censor, control and eventually completely shut down the internet as we know it, thereby killing the last real vestige of free speech in the world today and eliminating the greatest communication and information tool ever conceived.
Our governments have reams of legislation penned to put clamps on the web as we know it. Legislation such as the PRO-IP Act of 2007: H.R. 4279, that would create an IP czar at the Department of Justice and the Intellectual Property Enforcement Act of 2007: S. 522, which would create an entire ‘Intellectual Property Enforcement Network’. These are just two examples.
In addition, we have already seen how the major corporate websites and social networks are decentralizing and coming together to implement overarching identification, verification and access systems that have been described by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg as “the beginning of a movement and the beginning of an industry.”
Some of these major tech companies have already joined efforts in projects such as the Information Card Foundation, which has proposed the creation of a system of internet ID cards that will be required for internet access. Of course, such a system would give those involved the ability to track and control user activity much more effectively. This is just one example.
In addition, as we reported yesterday, major transportation hubs like St. Pancras International, as well as libraries, big businesses, hospitals and other public outlets that offer wi-fi Internet, are blacklisting alternative news websites and making them completely inaccessible to their users.
These precedents are merely the first indication of what is planned for the Internet over the next 5-10 years, with the traditional web becoming little more than a vast spy database that catalogues people’s every activity and bombards them with commercials, while those who comply with centralized control and regulation of content will be free to enjoy the new super-fast Internet 2.
We must speak out about this rampant move to implement strict control mechanisms on the web NOW before it is too late, before the spine of the free internet is broken and its body essentially becomes paralyzed beyond repair.

P.S. to JBC. Good intentions, just tone it down. We’re ALL doing our part. I’ve peppered my city with home made investigate 9/11 stickers, and anti spp stickers, all with fancy weblinks included.
I’ve done my part in sharing all of AJ’s videos, and any others I find informative.
Here’s some advice for you guys. Let the “Inside Job” slogan die. It’s done more harm that good. Once you investigate it yourself, you can’t deny it was an inside job, but you are turning people OFF when you chant it, make it about INVESTIGATING, and let them make up their own minds.
Check out truth rising for a perfect example. Inside job chanting gets you airplay, but no respect. The guys merely asking people to investigate it are the ones actually making change.
Hand out photocopies of your science text book sections regarding falling objects, conservation of energy, all the key factors. You’ll get many more people willing to listen that way. If you merely chant inside job, you turn them off, as most people just aren’t willing to accept that, even with the facts laid out in front of them. Spur them on to research, and they will see the light.

Actually Mr. Lessig is doing a favor to all of us with this information shared here. Although it is theory at this stage I do find it plausible. Hegelian dialect to accomplish the goal. Give them a 9/11 scale internet problem and let them react and of course the solution is already known even before the problem is created by those with the solution. The ratio of those with shallow minds far surpass those with broad minds and that makes it easy to control the masses. The NWO is still ahead in the game folks so good luck and please keep spreading the message of freedom and TRUTH which is null and void in this age of deception. The truth must be heard around the globe and it will set us free!

JUST in case – download, save and copy as much relevant information from the internet as possible – make CD’s and DVD’s – print the information on paper too – make copies and give to friends and relatives – tell them to make copies too etc…

Not many know that a major hurricane – Hurricane Erin – was in the Atlantic Ocean in September of 2001. In fact, Erin was closest to NYC, and at its largest size, on 9/11 itself. But the TV news networks had little reporting on this hurricane. Contrary to Erin, however, 2005’s Hurricane Katrina had virtually 24 hour coverage, even before it hit land. A massive change that could be made to the Internet would be to force ordinary users to have to use unencrypted data flow, except under special circumstances (like online financial transactions) where the government would already own a master ‘key’ to enable access to the information if needed.
However, this poses theoretical problems, given that steganography allows one message to be hidden within another. For instance, encrypted communication could occur by using a stream of ordinary appearing images. If the images are not blocked, neither will the messages within.
However, VPN services could be made illegal for ordinary net users.
The other big possible change is that which attempts to keep the vast majority of net users on sites owned by a very small number of corporations. This requires the sites and services provided by these companies to offer ordinary net users everything they think they want to do online.
To return to the days of AOL, Prestel, or Minitel would not be easy, since the Internet grew as fast as it did precisely because it lacked the restrictions of these earlier corporate controlled networks.
A complication lies with the rapid increase in bandwidth for the average user. In theory, down fibre, we could be moving thousands of megabytes a second (to each user). Everything becomes just too easy to hide in this level of traffic.
To hurt the net, the bad guys have to figure out what they hate the most. IP dilution? Encryption? Free publishing? P2P techs?
The economy of the West sits closely with the net, these days, and that complicates things even more.
The net, in its current model, is ideal for the bad guys. The ‘downsides’ are clear, but all our text communication is easily gathered and indexed, and political ‘targets’ tend to neatly reveal themselves with their ‘activity’ online. If the net were damaged, darknets and sneaker nets would start to become much more significant, and these are nightmares for the government.
For the monsters that rule us, some situations have to be a compromise. The current model of the net is optimal for them. Squeeze it more, and our pain will be their pain. P2P and ‘cloud computing’ concepts are waiting to eliminate easily targeted internet servers. Most of that which governments wish to filter out is small in data size, and will be ever easier to move around government barriers as bandwidths increase.
Myself, I think the governments will have to stay mostly hands-off, but not out of good intent. Their motivation will be the expert advice that proves that the net today allows more of their agendas to be met than any possible alternate version. Give people apparent ‘freedom’, they will argue, and people will be far less devious, cautious and careful.
Never forget that today, ’shadow googles’ collect all emails, texts, instant messages, forum posts, web content, mobile and vehicle movement data, etc., indexing and cross referencing the data. This information is mined to give a near instant ’snapshot’ of the thoughts of whole populations, allowing political manipulation to occur with an accuracy billions of times greater than at any time in the past. Do you really think the governments of major world nations are going to risk damaging this facility? Better for them to ramp up police state powers, identify online ‘dissidents’, and deal with them in the way all police states enforce ‘order’.

Back in June, there was an attack on the websites of the organizations overseeing key internet infrastructure. It was claimed that a Turkish group called NetDevilz did it. Those days are over, and the days of us being able to post on a site like this one, not having to worry about the FBI coming to your house because of what you said here, are numbered.

I do agree with you that each individual we try to speak with about 9/11 Truth may respond better to any of a variety of different arguments or approaches. Alex Jones may get a bit too exhited and passionate – and may even exaggerate on certain issues occasionally – but a tool for the NWO?
Everybody makes mistakes and wrong interpretations – let alone wrong predictions, right? Everybody also wants a piece of the action – it seems – and a bit of the hero-status that comes along with being right, and at least with being right “often enough”.
There’s a popularity contest going on between these modern day prophets – as it’s only human – but only time will tell who gets to be the MOST accurate one.
Deep Red – I checked out those videos, but frankly I didn’t hear any concrete evidence for Jones being a NWO-tool there. Cooper accused A.J. of being a “fearmongerer” – perhaps even rightfully so – but that doesn’t mean he actually worked or works for the NWO, does it?
Alex Jones seems to be a bit hyperactive – verbally – and usually – and well, 8+ years ago – how old was he again?
On the other hand – the tools for the NWO themselves don’t always necessarily know that they are being used, so who can really tell for sure what’s going on behind the scenes.
Maybe Cooper got killed for being – perhaps – a more convincing media personality – and was therefore a bigger threat to the NWO at the time than Alex Jones was. Maybe they thought – like Cooper did too – that Alex Jones would ultimately end up “helping” the NWO rather than hurting them, and simply with his more “fearmongerish” style, which by the way, isn’t always very convincing and as much as I like to listen to him.
Well, I personally try to concentrate more on the substance than the style – no matter who’s speaking – yet I do understand Cooper’s views very well.
Anyway – tool or no tool – it’s a f**ked up world out there and you really can’t trust anyone for sure. All you can do is to do your own research – look for other opinions and interpretations – then make your own conclusions.
Also – never assume that you already know everything there is to know. You don’t and that’s the only thing you can be absolutely sure of.

Now, Wow, dear one your kind of defeatism is what enables the “Powers that be”. If we all take this threat seriously and refuse to give in to them and give them the Political Power, we can stop their Cabal cold.
What would have happened in October of 2001 if we had refused to react in fear, allowing the US Government to motivate us into Retribution and the use of our Military? What if we had instead been interested in answering questions like “What did we do to motivate someone to do such a terrible thing on 9-11-2001?” Our World would be a totally different place, I’ll guarantee.
I suggest we get this information out. Prepare the Public as much as possible so the “Shock Effect” will be limited. Save this stuff to your PC Hard Drive so you can access it even if it disappears from the Web. This way you can show people the truth about any “Internet Disaster”, it was really planned and part of a scheme to further limit our Freedoms.
Expose this cabal for what it is!! Don’t let them “Surprise” us again.

No one is invulnerable. No one is tough. We all have tender skin and tender sensibilities. Governments are comprised of people, some of whom are deceitful and tyrannical, but most of whom are good, regular people, who depend on decency to get home each night. Without that basic social contract whereby we treat each other with patience and forbearance, society breaks down into viable groups. The individualist is doomed, long term. Only groups can survive. At first they may be revolutionary cells, with any one person knowing only a limited group. Groups are going to have babies, and the whole thing about decency starts again, right there.
Even the largest societies have decency for mothers and babies. More than tanks, missiles and guns, they need mothers and babies to survive and to prosper. Coal-mining labor,with its Appalachian-style poverty could not endure. The undocumented Mexican working for peanuts eventually opens a restaurant, a real estate office, runs for mayor. Any commercial exploitation is doomed by its own lies, its own denial of mutual respect– and few will linger where they are not respected. Many will not settle for less. That’s why we fought the British. We would not be dominated or dictated to by anyone. And that’s what will happen to this current nasty little cabal spreading lies, death, and exploitation. We can see there are no shortages of fuel. We know we’re being taken down the garden path. It cannot endure like this, and it won’t. The Talmud says:”..every gathering which is not for the sake of heaven will not endure in the end. But every gathering which is for the sake of heaven will in the end, endure.
Fear not, buckaroos, the Roberts Court and the Bush cabal have shown their hands, their weaknesses. Their schemes are paltry next to that of America. America is an ideal, perhaps never to realize perfect Justice, perfect equality. But that’s the direction we’re pointed in. And nothing can stop us from trying to get it right. Certainly a bunch of sissy-boys like Bush and Cheney and the bloated oil company lawyers are praying 300 million people play nice, by their rules. The status quo you hold to, i.e., that good only wins if individuals are collectivized, is largely true historically, however understandably short on super-wide scope perspective.
Though this may be the reality for most of the today’s matrix-entrapped people, (unfortunately, at current severe, & still increasing risk of being victimized into their graves very prematurely), there is an incessant historical leaning toward individualism emanating from Earthlings, as more & more, one by one, of us get glimpses of self-honesty, & what that means to be conscious, (possess “I-ness”); since first it was discovered in 7-600 BC (even breaking through man’s limited, discordant “babel” vocabularies & the prevalence of insanity in those days. Ref. ~ “The Discovery Of Consciousness In The Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind”, Dr. Julian Jaynes, Princeton.)
The 2000 year old story of the Christian individualist, JC, and several before him, is, in essense, really all about this evolution; with “heaven” being the overall term for abiding happiness. The Jewish & Roman collectivists then, & all others since, are increasingly being individually identified by today’s average productive classes ~ through the characteristics of their obsolete M.O. which they have continued to use through the ages (namely that of hellish, hominid default to the use of initiatory force, its threat, or other duress-coercion against innocents.) These “dons, chiefs, kings, gods & demi-gods” are destined for being laughed out of existence, likely sooner than we could imagine, since now we can connect to each other individually.
Whether this decade, or even if individualism is temporarily waylaid (Armageddon’s technological wax ‘n wane processes) for another 40-50 years, I’m prepared to estimate that before the end of this mid-century, collectivism will be cherished only by the weaker, needier, & infirm amongst us whom remain.
In fact, there are a few gargantuan surprises up the sleeves of individuals all over the planet, & I’d be surprised if you disagreed with me on much of this, after spending some time looking into the inevitable phenomenon of “self-leadership.” (You won’t be learning about how that occurs from any group.)
I write just to bring some attention to this, as it is a cosmic shift that will remain invisible to the innocent, unsuspecting, fear-dominated, & perhaps doomed masses. The excuse of most ( … “I can’t do anything anyways …”) is slated for the same guillotine as death & taxes ~ … that of obsoletion ~ as self-directed, self-leaders outcompete & run circles around those envious, lazy incompetents, whom historically have easily lived like luxurious tapeworms off of them.
I personally know about several hundred thousand people in 17 languages world-wide, who simultaneously just said “NO!” in ‘90-91, by ruthlessly leaving their collectives, & no longer associating with their past & its dishonest, deadly paradigms as much as possible (not easy, by any stretch) ~ after studying a peculiar series of invaluable works written to agitate individuals against the archaic status quo. After that, walls came down, but the liberation was only just begun.
Keep your eyes open for even more honesty & life-lifting surprises.
For now, it is urgent that everyone do whatever it takes to get people writing in Dr. Ron Paul in Nov., as each well-leveraged vote for US freedoms will most successfully mitigate humanity’s losses in the meantime, & then get set for incredible prosperity under free-competition, as abiding happiness could then start in America first ~ after the last, monopolist-stabbing runoff.

I must say that there has many voices that speak of an event. That would allow this. I wonder if our sources are the same. I have heard the talk from friends that have the vision. That something will be orchestrated to show something that I have witness building up in the last year more than anything else. I believe there is a solution, but then I am the type that would not look at conflict without the ability to reconcile and the storm my way to solution. So I say to you wonderful Truth Seekers. Look around and ask yourselves what Can I do that speaks outside of re volving doors and speaks into expanded evolution. We have the ability to become altruistic. Think about it.
