In his latest audio broadside Muammar Gaddafi has promised “a war of bees that sting and run away” as he attempted to rouse his followers to take up a guerrilla war and disrupt Libya’s oil supply.
In the second message from hiding, Gaddafi called on his supporters to prepare for an insurgency against western powers he accused of trying to occupy Libya and steal its oil.
The short recording, which followed a earlier broadcast in which the former leader promised “a long battle” against the forces opposing him, was aired late on Thursday night on Syria-based Al-Rai TV, and Abu Dhabi-based Al Arabiya.
Gaddafi, his voice clearly recognisable, said: “You will not be able to pump oil for the sake of your own people. We will not allow this to happen.”
