24-hour lockdown in effect, residents not allowed to leave their homes

Areas of a town in Arkansas have been placed under a 24-hour, non-stop curfew described by the mayor as “almost akin to martial law”.
The lockdown, issued after a spate of robberies, home invasions and shootings, applies to everyone in Helena-West Helena, no matter what age or what time of day it is.
Mayor James Valley has indicated that the curfew could be extended indefinitely.
Residents have described the lockdown as “like being in jail” and critics have slammed it as unconstitutional given that it effectively suspends the fourth amendment.

How will these people do basic things like buy food etc?
Police state indeed!
August 11th, 2008 at 3:36 pm
Yep, we aren’t far behind here in Cana-duh!! So happy to be back in BC because Alberta will be a hot spot for attacks due to the oil fields.
It’s going to be a tightrope winter.
I wonder if the people in Toronto today, are thinking of how the Iraqi and Afghan people must feel when the explosions send them fleeing from their homes….now that they’ve experienced the terror and horror of firebombs lighting up the sky??? Theirs was just a fluke accident, but how would it feel to have that night after night? I simply can’t imagine. Our Canadian forces are doing that to innocents every day and night. We should be ashamed.
August 11th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
NO WAY we are going to put up with this insanity!
August 11th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
Pfffttt big deal, we all would be just seating on our asses. Martial law, shmartial law, who cares. They’ll be screaming all day “it is unconstitutional, it feels just like jail.” What else are we all good for? Indeed, “useless eaters”, “sheeps”, “dumb brainless scum”.
August 11th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
Personally, I welcome our blood-sucking overlords.
August 11th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
this is a test to what is going to come if it happens here you all know it will be time for lead ers to get it straight or die
August 11th, 2008 at 4:38 pm
If someone puts a curfew on you… Shoot them all one at a time in the dark from various angles…There is no such thing as martial law, it is actually called ANARCHY. Or in the great words of Farmer John: GET OFF MY LAND!!!!!
August 11th, 2008 at 5:26 pm
Now we know who the real terrorists are…the US government.
August 11th, 2008 at 5:59 pm
I live in central Arkansas and I shouldn’t be surprised that it happened in the Clinton Penal Colony of Democratic Socialist Peoples Dictatorship of the Proletariat South.
The expedition of the crashing economy will happen much quicker if this takes hold around the country.
The rabble who are commiting these acts are well paid the Organized Global Evil, Inc.
August 11th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
Fema,
Coexistence on this tightly knit earth should be viewed as an existence not only without wars, but also without the government telling us how to live, what to say, what to think, what to know, and what not to know. –Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, September 11, 1973
August 11th, 2008 at 6:05 pm

Connecticut: Police reject candidate for being too intelligent
Police reject candidate for being too intelligent
A US man has been rejected in his bid to become a police officer for scoring too high on an intelligence test.
Robert Jordan, a 49-year-old college graduate, took an exam to join the New London police, in Connecticut, in 1996 and scored 33 points, the equivalent of an IQ of 125.
But New London police interviewed only candidates who scored 20 to 27, on the theory that those who scored too high could get bored with police work and leave soon after undergoing costly training.
Mr Jordan launched a federal lawsuit against the city, but lost.
The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York upheld a lower court’s decision that the city did not discriminate against Mr Jordan because the same standards were applied to everyone who took the test.
He said: “This kind of puts an official face on discrimination in America against people of a certain class. I maintain you have no more control over your basic intelligence than your eye color or your gender or anything else.”
He said he does not plan to take any further legal action and has worked as a prison guard since he took the test.
The average score nationally for police officers is 21 to 22, the equivalent of an IQ of 104, or just a little above average.

the mayor should issue guns to all law abiding adult citizens and ask them to be vigilant
August 12th, 2008 at 5:10 am
…And these people haven’t taken to the streets with guns and clubs and pitchforks WHY?!?! Where the hell does the MAYOR of a little po-dunk town get the power to lock people in their own homes. What is that supposed to accomplish?!
August 12th, 2008 at 5:11 am
This is such a violation of constitutional rights, DO NOT LET THIS GO UNPUNISHED!!
August 12th, 2008 at 5:25 am
Well folks, don’t forget – Arkansas is CLINTON COUNTRY. They’ve used the state for many varied facets of dismantling the Constitution in the past. This is no exception. You can bet that the order for this ‘test’ came from a little higher than the podunk mayor’s office.
I would to have to agree that the folks in this small Southern town have either:
1. Ingested too much flouridated water
2. Inhaled too many chemtrails
3. Eaten too much aspartame-laced ‘food’
4. Watched too much Fox Nooz
5. All of the above.
Time for getting your fat asses off the couch. If they get away with it there, it’s just more proof that it’s on the way for the rest of the country. Of course, this is a BIG country. FEMA and Lizard Chertoff don’t actually have the resources to pull it off on a national scale. Look at Katrina. They’re going to rely on the mind-control conditioning of everyone to just ‘obey’.
Wake Up America or get on the bus.

“areas” of Arkansas. In reality, it is a 10 block section. Some assholes shot their guns into some houses. Lets hope the cops do the same if that s--- happened in your neighborhoods. WWAD? (what would alex do?) He’d call the fuzz and hope they dealt with it. Or would he go Rambo?
August 12th, 2008 at 6:59 am
Hey Ted!
It doesn’t matter if it was 10 blocks or 1 block!!
As MLK once said; “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere!”
I’m afraid that you are part of the problem.
August 12th, 2008 at 7:21 am
i like alex jones and prisonplanet, but i agree with ted on this one. in america, people have guns, so sometimes the police have to act in accordance with that, and take more severe measures to protect people. this website shouldnt sensationalize every event where the police lock down an area following a shooting; it could have a ‘boy who cried wolf’ effect if substantial martial law actions were to occurr. for example here in london the police had a shootout with a lawyer on kings road who went insane with a shotgun, obviously they cordoned the area off. nobody was saying that those were police state actions – there are plenty of better examples of that here in england.
August 12th, 2008 at 7:43 am
Was this just a exercise for the coming events?

These are the same idiots who were complaining because they DIDN’T lock Virginia Tech when reports of the shooting were received. You have to forive them. What Alex tells them to think is much different in the real world. This confuses them very much. Alex (and his sheep, of course) wondered why there was NO lockdown at Virginia Tech and now wonder why THERE IS a lockdown, even when the situation seems much more serious.
You know when a truther or Alex Jones sheep talks about a dumbed-down nation of sheep? They’re talking about themselves.

HELENA-WEST HELENA — A neighborhood here is on police lockdown, all over a $6, or maybe $8, debt.
The feud started earlier this week, when a man recently released from jail refused to pay the money back to a neighbor, residents and authorities said.
A group of men jumped the ex-inmate and fired guns into the air and into homes, mostly after dark, residents and authorities said, prompting some people to sleep on the floors for fear of being struck by stray bullets.
The man and his buddies retaliated – with guns, as well – turning the already highcrime neighborhood into what residents said sounded for a few nights like …
August 12th, 2008 at 9:57 am
fuad;
No one I know not even Alex were calling for a lock down of VA Tech, what Alex questioned was why the local police had to wait 2 hours for the Feds. It was a black op aimed at Va gun laws. Two totally different situations and if you don’t know the difference then its too late for you!
August 12th, 2008 at 10:44 am
Well the problem is as with all news unless you are actually at the particular event in question you will never know the entire truth. Unfortunately I can see both sides to this argument which leaves me with no clear cut answers to it. Sure if people are shooting up the streets you need to do something about it. But by putting people under a curfew and marshal law, that may be a bit excessive. Why not just arrest the people who were shooting at each other? Now that leads me back to the beginning, I’m not there nor was I when it started I don’t know all the details and sadly I wont get them from that glowing box in my living room and I wont get them from Alex (granted I’ll get more from Alex)

Of course you don’t know. Because you have no idea what you’re talking about. Once you find out what Alex really said, instead of relying on your false and faulty brain/memory, then come back. Alex has you brainwashed. You’re his good little sheep. It’s too late for you!
August 12th, 2008 at 12:32 pm
Well it’s soundin’ like some on here are cool wit the lockdown Bush is gonna put on this country before this election takes place, cool lets all roll up a fatty in the US Constitution, cuz that’s whut’s happenin’ now!!!
August 12th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
I’d like to see these f---ing cocksuckers come and do this in MA. no other human is going to tell me what the f--- to do!! I do what i want and always will!!! The people of the world need to stand up and overthrow all governments and start over because this system is all bulls---!! Get all the weapons you can get your hands on and egt ready for a second civil war! It will the sleeping idiots vs. the awakened ones unless all the sleeping ones wake the f--- up!!
August 12th, 2008 at 1:13 pm
“under siege with repeated gunfire, loitering, drug dealing and other general mayhem.
WOW, LOITERING!!! Gotta stop those dasterdly LOITERERS!!! YOU, GET MOVING!
August 12th, 2008 at 1:23 pm
This is insanity.
August 12th, 2008 at 3:03 pm
This also is happening in orlando. On August second in the Palms aparment three people were gun down. After this incident the owner hire a security guard with help of orlando police had set a check point at the main gate. Cheking everyone papers and asking questions. After reading the above artcle. I had to say something is happening all over the U.S

The citizens of this Arkansas town ought to rise up en masse and defy the curfew. What are the cops going to do? Mow them down for their own protection?
WAKE UP, SHEEPLE! I am a 64 year old grandmother and I am not about to watch my grandchildren be made into slaves of the state! I have been threatened with arrest & bodily harm because I go to protests & demonstrations with a video camera, but state-backed thugs don’t scare me. It’s the masses who roll over and play dead who scare the hell out of me!
fuad, you have already been beaten into submission. Cordoning off the scene of a crime is NOT the same as keeping citizens not charged or convicted of crime under house arrest!
ted, if something like a shoot-out happens in your neighborhood, feel free to comply with a curfew implemented by your friendly local Gestapo, BUT DON’T EXPECT ME TO GO ALONG WITH YOUR COWARDLY COMPLIANCE!
August 12th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
I don’t really think that 24-hour curfew would work. I mean, I have to go to the store to buy blunts, and I have to go to my dealer’s house to buy weed, and I have to go to work in order to pay for it all. You can’t seriously expect everyone to stay locked in their homes when the natural order of things is to go out and do stuff. None of this scares me because I know it can’t work.
August 12th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
BTW anyone ever notice how “we” talk about Alex a lot in these comments, but he doesn’t take the time to join in?
August 12th, 2008 at 11:05 pm
Government dweebs love doing stuff like this. It may be unconstitutional, but by the time they can get a court to tell them no, the damage will be done.
They will continue to do stuff like this because there is no penalty for it. All that happens is that the court tells them to stop, days or weeks after the fact, and by then they have accomplished what they want.
It would be nice if we had some provisions in the law that prosecuted government officials for violations of the constitution like this.

Wow!! I fear a zombie outbreak quarentine coverup. I find it courious that it’s only 24 hrs (with a chance of it being longer). So once the situation is contained the lockdown will be lifted. in the mean time, citizens arm youselves and be on the lookout for rabid corpses.
August 13th, 2008 at 8:41 am
I completely agree with CMP. Everybody needs to arm themselves and get ready for the next American Civil War. Get lots of ammunition folks, ’cause you’re gonna need it!! If you don’t already know how to use a gun, you better learn quick.
August 13th, 2008 at 9:56 am
9-11 was the Pandora’s Box. I went to the Baltimore-Washington International Airport and the place was packed with fully armed and geared soldiers. Why the hell can’t they just take off from Andrews or one of the zillions of bases they’ve got around there?? Because they are trying to militarize everyday American life, Israeli-ize us, numb us to an alien fascist presence of troops everywhere, Total War, Permanent War..
August 13th, 2008 at 10:49 am
this is to any1 who says “oh but we need this, to keep us safe,oh
oh oh oh” WAKE UP!!!! because when they bust your door down seperate you from your kids, take you to a fema camp shoot your elderly family members it will be to late for you, so please all who dont believe this is going on, please WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE
August 13th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
Can anyone answer this question?? It’s obviously un-constitutional, and the ACLU is already getting involved, but what if everyone just disobeyed the order, what would/could they actually be charged with? that news video was complete propaganda,”you could end up here” as they show jail bars. But whats the charge? disorderly conduct? and if everyone did it at the same time. But those sheeple probably love it. and they need to put sub-titles under the mayor, I can’t understand the garbled quasi english/arkadian talk. It’s easier to understand Haji.
August 14th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
These people and they Mayer love this …………this is what the Mayer said:
“Now if somebody wants to sue us, they have an option to sue, but I’m fairly certain that a judge will see it the way the way the citizens see it here,” Mayor James Valley said. “The citizens deserve peace, that some infringement on constitutional rights is OK and we have not violated anything as far as the Constitution.”
Even their City Council voted for it:
On Tuesday, the Helena-West Helena City Council voted 9-0 to allow police to expand that program into any area of the city, despite a warning from a lawyer with the American Civil Liberties Union of Arkansas that the police stops were unconstitutional.
These people are f---en insane…………if they ever moved to New York, they would never leave the house. It’s these kinds of stupid, idiot, retards that are always screwing up evryone else that actualy LOVE freedom.
August 14th, 2008 at 1:05 pm
