During a town hall event in Portsmouth, OH on Wednesday, John McCain was asked by a member of the audience whether his links to the parent organization of the Project for a New American Century explain why he has been reluctant to support calls for a new investigation of 9/11.
The questioner began, “I was curious about a document. Back in September of 2000, the Project for a New American Century, or PNAC, whose members included Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Jeb Bush and Paul Wolfowitz, wrote a document entitled ‘Rebuilding Americans Defenses.’”
As McCain turned and paced away from him, the questioner continued, “In it, they state, quote, “The process of transformation, even if it bring revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event like a new Pearl Harbor.”

“Now, many Americans believe that that ‘new Pearl Harbor’ event took place on 9/11,” the questioner went on, as McCain grimaced slightly. “And according to a recent New York Times and CBS News poll, 84% of Americans believe that there were some criminal elements of our government involved in 9/11.”
Calls of disapproval began to arise from the audience, but the questioner shot back, “Hold on!” and continued asking McCain, “Can you tell us about your role as — hold on — as president of the ‘New Citizen Project,’ founded in 1994, which served as a chief fund-raising and parent organization to PNAC? And is this one of the factors that has made you so reluctant to support the victims’ family members and first responders who are begging for a new investigation into 9/11?”
The boos became louder at that point, and McCain grimaced again, turned his back and walked away, but the questioner insisted, “It’s a serious question.”
“I have a serious answer, sir,” McCain replied, “and that is that it was Joe Lieberman and I — a Democrat — that sponsored the legislation for the 9/11 Commission. … And very frankly, the administration was not, shall I say, enthusiastic about the establishment of that commission. … I am proud of what the 9/11 Commission did. I am proud that we have enacted many of the reforms … that they recommended. And I will stand by their recommendations and their conclusions, as will the overwhelming majority of Americans.”
“It’s a free country,” McCain concluded. “You are free to disagree with their conclusions. But I am proud to have been one of those who was, along with Joe Lieberman, responsible for the establishment of the 9/11 Commission.”

what happens if all our progressive wet dreams come true and ’smoking gun’ evidence is found and made public that elements of our own govt. where in some way behind or party to the attacks of 911? What then? How would the american people react? Would they react? How would those involved react? To me, my biggest fear is not whether or not my government killed it’s own people but that when proven beyond a shadow of doubt to having done so the american people would respond with a shrug.

McCain is proud of the 911 commissions conclusions but Hamilton, the co-director of the commission, said they were set up to fail in his book.

And on more thing, if 911 wasn’t an inside job, staged or provoked, it would be the exception rather than the norm in the history of American warfare…the Maine, the Lusitania, Pearl Harbor, Justification for U.S. Military Intervention in Cuba, the Liberty, Gulf of Tonkin.

Liebermann was such a loyal and wonderful Democrat wasn’t he….his answer was so weak. More slight of hand…the question was not about the (whitewash) commission…it was about financing PNAC and refusal to support first responders.

PNAC is key to this entire matter. The number of presidential cabinet positions who were also PNAC members is staggering. After 911 they began to leave their positions. This was a great question. The best way to get this administration is by matching the names on that document {PNAC} and those holding office under the president pushing the false information towards Iraq, and their ability to cover up intelligence prior to 911. This could be done easily.Then we might be able to see just what these murdering thieves were doing exactly in the days before 911.

Let us never forget that we are getting hit from multiple directions simultaneously, and that the enemy knows we are dangerous as we continue to awaken more and more each day. We Americans are hypnotized into believing their is such a stark difference between Republicans and Democrats. The challenge is seeing through subtle differences to reveal the truth: both sides support war, the Federal Reserve, and the chipping of U.S. citizens. Whomever should assume the presidency will have complete control over the (now legal)surveillance programs the Bush administration set up.
As we know, both Republicans AND Democrats are capable of abusing those powers. . . . .
I’ve told some friends about the Real ID act that is already in effect, and even after I show them our own government’s website, somehow they believe it’s not going to happen.
I’ve shown friends and family numerous videos and documents which highlight the blatant lies and misinformation we’ve been fed. I’ve discussed the so-called “coincidental” military exercises, an aerospace defense stand down, and all the other questionable events of 9/11.
Still, they somehow refuse to believe. Why? Because the thought is just too frightening. Because, if it’s true, it will require radical change; some action on their part. Because most people don’t want to accept the responsibility of being moral citizens, they would rather the government set and enforce standards of morality.
We Americans are too distracted by television programs that tell us what to buy, what to wear, what to eat, what to think, who we love, who we hate, and those who must be destroyed before they destroy us.

Nice reply by Mcain, totaly avoiding the question and how the hell he got the crowd to clap is beyond me because clearly they should have realized that he did not answer the question in any way. He paced around trying to come up with something to say, I swear we need a major media outlet for 911 truth. More documentaries shown in theatres in the country, something!!

Maybe they clapped because he gave an answer with all the right stuff that the people who support a goof like McCain want to hear. It doesn’t matter that the question wasn’t answered. All that mattered to them was that he said things that made them feel all warm and tingly inside.

The Sheep cheer the wolves as they are led into slavery. Is it not almost rediculous that McCain stated that most Americans agree with the 911 Commission Report directly following the questioner affirmation that 84% of Americans disagree with the 911 Commission Report?
What angers me most, is not the crooks and liars in our government. They were always and will always be there. George Washington and Ben Franklin warned us from the beginning of our “former republic” that our greatest enemy is the government. What upsets me more that naything is the public’s unwillingness to look at the evidence for the hoax of 911. It is overwhelmingly present in all forms of documents, books, websites, scientific investigations, eye witness reports, first responders and much more. One would have to be totally brain dead, hypnotized, in a trance, a believer of fairy tales, naive, or just totally stupid to not see the truth.
I have come to the conclusion that many Americans do not want the truth. They would rather believe that evil doesn’t exist to the magnitude that it is manifesting in our world today. They hide with their collective heads in the sand hoping that their fairy god mother will make everything alright.
We too soon forget the past. We too soon forget the atrocities of WWII, of witch burnings in our own country, of the murder of millions in the name of war and religion. Speaking of religion…God help us!

Serious answer? So what was it again? Notice how the sheeple immediately booed? Their conditioned defense mechanisim swithced on as if being hypnotized by the mass media to respond in a heracy mode to n e one who may have questions about 9/11 that doesn’t mirror that what we have been constantly fed to beleive? IF 9/11 was an inside job, I’ll be the Devil’s Advocate here, then the ‘hammer-drillers’ (the many who installed the thermate charges to the 3 buildings [that krewe had to be large], although most if not all of them have been spirited out of the country,(probably during the same period that the Bin Ladens were allowed to fly out, they are the ones that will eventually spill the beans on 9/11. They are not heads-of-state, presumably are not rich elites, though their pay must have been huge, one of them will have a come-to-Jesus-monment or some may develope terminal diseases and come clean to someone. Hell they may have been recruited because they had terminal diseases or have all been whacked already.

Anyone like John McCain who rises to the heights of professional politics must master the art of crowd attention control. Notice how he quickly shifts the audience’s attention from an uncomfortable cold-prickly-type subject to something warm and fuzzy that leaves him and his audience on emotionally solid ground again.
The audience is feeling so good at this point that they’ve already forgotten the original question…which, of course, is Mr. McCain’s objective.
I’d be interested to know what happened to the questioner. Was he hustled out or allowed to remain at the meeting?

McCain is either massively stupid, a perp, or a perp after the fact. Any one proud of the 9/11 commission, is not someone I want as President. Praising it, is a politicians signal to ruling mob elite that he’s ready to play ball. Their type of ball, more of the same as what we’ve been getting. Our only hope is that Obama is trying to sucker the elite in, and then to be his own man after the election. I can dream can’t I?

Kudos to you Anthony! You were very calm and concise in questioning McCain, and that was probably the best question he will be asked this entire candidacy! Which is actually pretty sad.

Hey Anthony, good job, and I like the way you held your composure when uninformed morons start booing you without actually listening, or knowing what your talking about. You held your resolve and asked him the most serious question of his campaign. To which he answered with one of the worst answers of his campaign, his answer just sealed it in my opinion.
How could anyone praise the 9/11 commission when some of the commission members themselves don’t agree with the commission. Support the families call for a new investigation.

Aye guilty as hell. See how as the question unfolds he starts walking around as if to try to walk away from the question himself. Also he then picks a catchphrase “9-11 Commission” and rolls with that, basically not even answering the question. Reminds me of that documentary “Spin” where the off-camera guys tell Pat Robertson how to avoid answering a question. Classic and as in the first Superman film when the counsel is in session, my answer is GUILTY!
