Flashback: Cybersecurity Is Framework For Total Government Regulation & Control Of Our Lives
The US military has set up a new “cyberspace” command designed to bolster the country’s defenses against threats to computer networks and to wage digital warfare, the Pentagon said on Tuesday.
Defense Secretary Robert Gates formally established the command — the country’s first — that would operate initially under US Strategic Command, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman told AFP.
The command will begin operating in October and be fully operational in October 2010, Whitman said.
The move reflects a shift in military strategy with “cyber dominance” now part of US war doctrine and amid growing alarm over the perceived threat posed by digital espionage coming from China, Russia and elsewhere.

The real reason Obama wants web security is because he is getting kickbacks from the recording industry, especially fascist music companies like WMG, Warner Media Group. If you download a song they want to bust you.
Recently they fined a 32 year old mother 1.6 MILLION dollars for downloading about 24 songs. That is an outrage especially considering Itunes charges 99 cents for each song. Those in the recording industry are already filthy rich.
This seems to be a running theme here in the US the rich want to be richer, and will do anything in their power to assrape the poor over it.
I hope the entirety of the recording industry chokes on their greed.

Victor returned to Ft. Hood, Texas after his deployment in Iraq and got news that his unit would be sent to Afghanistan. He had already been questioning his service in Iraq and saw parallels with Afghanistan. “Both occupations fuel the insurgencies in those countries. We are creating ‘terrorists’ and we are killing so many innocent people,” Victor concluded. In May, he told his unit command he would not go.
Victor has overtly refused to follow any order that has anything to do with his taking an action that would support the occupation of Afghanistan. If he continues to refuse orders, he almost assuredly will face court martial and likely jail time.
