North Korea has reportedly fired two short-range missiles off its east coast – defiant in the face of international condemnation of its latest nuclear test.
Kim Jong Il’s rogue state launched one surface-to-air and one ground-to-ship missile, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency quoted a government source as saying.
It followed the North saying it had successfully detonated an atomic bomb – the second time in its history. It also launched three short-range missiles.
The nuclear test on Monday prompted unanimous condemnation from the UN Security Council.
US President Barack Obama called Pyongyang’s atomic arms programme a threat to international security.
