Stepping up its rhetoric amid growing US pressure against the country, North Korea says it could use nuclear weapons “as a merciless offensive” if provoked.
“Our nuclear deterrent will be a strong defensive means … as well as a merciless offensive means to deal a just retaliatory strike to those who touch the country’s dignity and sovereignty even a bit,” the official Korean Central News Agency quoted Pyongyang’s state-run Minju Joson newspaper as saying.
The tough talk came as the US has been pushing for tougher measures against North Korea in recent weeks in response to the communist nation carrying out nuclear and short-range missile tests.

US President Barack Obama has said that “North Korea’s actions over the last couple of months have been extraordinarily provocative”, adding that Washington was not “intending to continue a policy of rewarding provocation”.
On Sunday, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) briefed President Lee Myung-Bak on plans for a counter-attack on North Korea should Pyongyang fire missiles at ships controlled by the South.
“North Korea’s firing of ground-to-ship missiles at our navy ships would prompt counter-attacks simultaneously from surface, air and sea,” JCS chairman Kim Tae-Young said.

Thank you to all trolls and patriots alike for using cuss words on this forum. The government “loves the children” of this nation too much to let them be exposed to such language. Internet 2 will impose fines on websites that allow such language to be used. It will be up to the website host to either pay the fines, pay a fee to allow x-rated content, or pay a moderator to censor your comments since you can’t seem to censor yourselves.
BTW 80% the so-called patriots who make valid, cogent points, and then throw in 3 or 4 cuss words, are paid or unpaid trolls. All they have to do is say something true, that you can agree with, then they pile on the vulgarity which will lead to this sites downfall, and you allow this to happen because you happen to agree with the statement they made.

North Korea is in its own league, it is not like other countrys that rely heavily on forgein trade to support its economy, its very self sufficent. I cant understand their willingness to engage in war, especailly when Nucs are involed. I see North Korea as the bully in a school yard, its all big and hard until people get sick of them or they start on the wrong people and get their ass kicked. But, this wont end up in cuts and bruises, if a fight starts, it will grow and pull in world super powers and thats when stuff starts getting VERY sticky. What if these nut jobs park a commercial vessel just off the us territorial waters of both coasts and launch a nuclear tipped, short range missle. The purpose of these missles would be to achieve an altitude of 200 miles and then detonate. This would wipe out, via Electromagnetic pulse (EMP) virtually everything that uses electricity in the US. In effect, sending us back to the stone age.
