The USS John McCain, a Navy destroyer, is preparing in case of orders to intercept a North Korean when it leaves the vicinity off the coast of China, according to a senior U.S. defense official.
The U.S. military is preparing for a possible intercept of a North Korean flagged ship suspected of proliferating weapons material in violation of a U.N. Security Council resolution passed last Friday, FOX News has learned.
The USS John McCain, a Navy destroyer, is positioning itself in case it gets orders to intercept the ship Kang Nam as soon as it leaves the vicinity off the coast of China, according to a senior U.S. defense official. The order to inderdict has not been given yet, but the ship is moving into the area.

“Permission has not been requested. Nor is it clear it will be,” a military source told FOX News. “This is a very delicate situation and no one is interested in precipitating a confrontation.”
The ship left a port in North Korea Wednesday and appears to be heading toward Singapore, according to a senior U.S. military source. The vessel, which the military has been tracking since its departure, could be carrying weaponry, missile parts or nuclear materials, a violation of U.N. Resolution 1874, which put sanctions in place against Pyongyang.
The USS McCain was involved in an incident with a Chinese sub last Friday – near Subic Bay off the Philippines. The Chinese sub was shadowing the destroyer when it hit the underwater sonar array that the USS McCain was towing behind it.

Dude I’m not happy with what the fed is doing or whats goin on in america right now. But that is one thing, another thing is thinking that there is anyone in the world who can fight against us. I’m in the military and I know about what china has and is capable of and north korea. Believe you me if it came down to a conventional war with china or north korea or both, we would mop the floor with them in short order. The only card china has really is there nukes but apparently we can shoot those down now.
So if you think we are “cruisin for a bruisin” your sorely mistaken. The fact is that north korea is cruisin for a bruisin and south korea will probably get pretty messed up in the cross fire.

Firstly, backing up your claim with the extremely over used saying “im in the military so i know” does not support what you are saying in anyway. Im in the military and dont appreciate it when others say that about stuff like this. Secondly, going to war with china or north korea, you make it sound like stomping on an ant. Regardless of who would outright win, there would be many casualties on both sides and should not be taken as lightly as you make it sound. If you’ve seen combat, you should know better. we wouldnt be fighting people in sand covered hoodies. It is much more serious than that.

China and Russia have both refused to defend or support North Korea in this latest bluster by the communists dictatot. there are some wild cards here though, South Korea is very close, along with our troops, and it could get messy. The commies could have pre-positined nukes in US cities, or germ warfare. It would also be a window of opportunity for the muslem terrorists to attack a US city, and at first no one would know who did it, with North Korean getting blamed. This is a dangerous situation, and thousands of lives hang in the balance.

It has not happened yet. I think the USA must remain very patient and find out what N. Korea really wants to do, and whether China is backing N. Korea or not.
Maybe N. Korea will make their missels and nukes and never use them as China has done so far.I cannot hurt to wait and wait, there is nothing to be gained by killing a million and maybe more people. We know that Israel thinks another preemptive strike will settle things again, but we know better…

The Navy was long ago neutered by the PC Admirals and Joint Chiefs. The Navy is not capable of engaging a rowboat in battle. It is not the brave sailors, it is the leadership……failed leadership. This story is misleading. “Intercept” means that the ship will come along side and ask if they can be boarded for inspection. If the ship’s captain agrees, the ship will be directed to the nearest port. If the suspect ship captain refuses to be inspected, our Navy will allow the ship to proceed. That is the real story that the news does not tell you about. Hussein is a pussy that is peeing in his pants daily in total fear that he might have to actually make a decision.
