Nervous China may attack India by 2012: Expert

A leading defence expert has projected that China will attack India by 2012 to divert the attention of its own people from “unprecedented” internal dissent, growing unemployment and financial problems that are threatening the hold of Communists in that country.
“China will launch an attack on India before 2012. There are multiple reasons for a desperate Beijing to teach India the final lesson, thereby ensuring Chinese supremacy in Asia in this century,” Bharat Verma, Editor of the Indian Defence Review, has said.
Verma said the recession has “shut the Chinese exports shop”, creating an “unprecedented internal social unrest” which in turn, was severely threatening the grip of the Communists over the society.

Among other reasons for this assessment were rising unemployment, flight of capital worth billions of dollars, depletion of its foreign exchange reserves and growing internal dissent, Verma said in an editorial in the forthcoming issue of the premier defence journal. In addition to this, “The growing irrelevance of Pakistan, their right hand that operates against India on their behest, is increasing the Chinese nervousness,” he said, adding that US President Barak Obama’s Af-Pak policy was primarily Pak-Af policy that has “intelligently set the thief to catch the thief”.
Verma said Beijing was “already rattled, with its proxy Pakistan now literally embroiled in a civil war, losing its sheen against India.” “Above all, it is worried over the growing alliance of India with the US and the West, because the alliance has the potential to create a technologically superior counterpoise.

The American military is sucking us dry already But I would never assume that China would nt attack western interest for the following reasons.
1. they dispute that Tiawan is a sovereign republic.
2. they would intervene in Koreas again and Korea is behaving agressively toward Japan
3. they hold vast US debts they may try to collect.

If china attacked India I think you will find North Korea would be there allies.Because of Indias ties with the USA.Dont china and japan hate each other because of economic reasons and as for the debt the USA dont care they spent it all on building more weapons.China have every reason to attack.China and India are probably the oldest enemies in the modern day.Japan are sided with the USA aswell ffs.They always back the NAZIS.

Yeah it’s not like China’s economy is actually GROWING, despite what this knucklehead sayeth.
This is a Bzrezinski-inspired piece of agitprop. See how it tries to play China and Pakistan against one another?
China and Russia are the primary targets of the Trilateralists(we thought Neocons were bad, right?) and Pakistan is an important energy and trade corridor, a Chinese ally. Lots of goodies in Balochistan too.
Also, bear in mind that the US has had to beg the Russians to allow them to transport military cargo via Russia(announced just days ago), explicitly because the Pakistan route is too hot, too dangerous.
Note how this piece of agitprop praises the great Obama “Af-Pak policy”, thereby confirming that the writer has no relationship with reality.

China has not gone to war in the last 10,000 years, except to reclaim stolen land from a weak government. I understand they are drawing up plans to invade Bhutan in the next 10,000 years but they don’t want to annex a Maoist state. Those Maoist are nuts.
China already has a nutty neighbour on its NE border that the generous Americans would like to see them invade. That would pit a quarter of a million troops attacking 1.2 million on their home turf. They would have to supply a lot of coffins. We leave America to do the invading and the squander of what is left (none) of their empty coffers. No the latest US ploy of supplying India with neuclear junk for mangoes is enough. China can mobilize 642 million troops for this war, but opts for selling India 642 million sandals and computers. See this is what gets me.Chinas economy is only now starting to boom apparently.The USA owe them endless amounts of money.Where did China get all this money in the first place?
How is the USA the most powerful country in the world if the owe trillions of dollars to China?
Maybe the Chinese have been stockpiling weapons and this explains why there country is a shithole.But just because its a shithole dont mean that their fucking stupid.They can shoot satellites and all sorts of other shit in space so I really think the chinese have alot more than what everyone thinks they have.Plus there 2 million plus ground troops they are a force to be reckoned with and even India with their nukes wouldnt dint them as Pakistan would back door them from the North.We have many chinese here in aus and they are very good money makers and very intelligent people.

Haha, I don’t think so. China has not attacked any sovereign nation in modern times. The only ones doing that is the criminal US administrations and their henchmen. It seems Bush senior begun that tradition with the Gulf war. Clinton followed suit with the illegal attack on Yugoslavia. Bush junior went for Iraq and Afghanistan and now BHO goes for Pakistan and Iran. These crusades leave a dirty trail of chaos and dysfunctional states (statelet in the case of Kosovo). China has a very responsible and mature foreign policy in comparison.

I think you will find that a China/ India war very nearly happened in the 1960s – which is in my lifetime, the Chinese were incredibly aggressive and got right up to the border but suddenly and mysteriously seemed to change their mind at the last minute and retreated:

bharat verma is paranoid, he talks about Pakistan as a proxy for China, while he ignores the Indian quest to become a proxy for the US in the region. This is the reason if any, if China ever attacks India. If you ask me, no one needs to attack India at all, it is disintegrating on its own, with Kashmiri insurgecy in the north, Naxalites controling 40% of its region, and 500 million low caste or no caste Hindus, etc etc.. the recipe is pretty much complete for its disintegration, its only a matter of time, Chinese dont have to do anything to India

This is some crazy propaganda, tibet and the Himalayas are almost impossible to get over and has always acted as a deterrent, both have similar populations 1.2 bil vs. 1.5 bil, similar resources, nukes, modern weapons, I think india has many engineers and the capacity to take away manufacturing jobs and money, but really this is long term scare mongering.

To make your argument more convincing, I would like to offer the following humble suggestions just for your kind reference:
1. Your article begins with a clear statement that “China will launch an attack on India before 2012″. You should use this as the title of the article rather than “Nervous China may attack India by 2012″. Linguistically, to say something “may happen” is quite different from that to say “will happen”. I know you are confident, but you also need to show you are serious and responsible. And it would be much better if you explain in a few words why exactly before 2012 but not, say, before 2015?
2. According to your article, the first of the “multiple reasons” for China to attach India is the Chinese economy has been deadly affected by the world recession, which “is creating an unprecedented internal social unrest in China”. But the Chinese leadership has declared that China’s GDP growth in 2009 will be at 8%. It is worse that many economists in the world are also saying that China’s target of 8% growth can be achieved.
