“The powers that be not only try to control events, but they try to control our memory and understanding of these events, which is part of controlling the events themselves.” – Michael Parenti.
“As long as people enjoy scaring themselves and scaring one another, horror movies will remain popular, and so will Doomsday.” – Robert Anton Wilson.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, standing before the U.S. Congress on May 24, 2011, made the following hair-raising statements:
“A nuclear-armed Iran would ignite a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. It would give terrorists a nuclear umbrella. It would make the nightmare of nuclear terrorism a clear and present danger throughout the world.See, I want you to understand what this means, because if we don’t stop it, it’s coming. They could put a bomb anywhere. They could put it in a missile; they’re working on missiles that could reach this city. They could put it on a — on a ship inside a container; could reach every port. They could eventually put it in a suitcase or in a subway.”
In his speech, Netanyahu warned that if Iran becomes a nuclear state it will signal the end of the world. Terrorists would be given a “nuclear umbrella,” and American cities would be constantly threatened because of loose nukes. He evoked images of Armageddon and apocalyptic warfare. I would be scared, except those images are not based in reality. Netanyahu drew inspiration from Hollywood summer blockbusters. His speech belongs in a Hollywood script.
Netanyahu and the neocon rats in Washington want all of us in the Western world to duck and hide and pray that Israel will protect us from a nuclear disaster.
But I don’t like ducking and hiding. And I don’t like being scared.
I’m not scared of loose nukes or stupid Islamists. I’m scared of the loose mental patients who have taken over the American government, the Israeli government, the Canadian government, the British government, and the French government. I’m scared that they will attack Iran and start World War III.
Netanyahu told the docile Congressmen nightmarish stories and fantasy Doomsday scenarios, not the truth. Everything he warned about will not happen, unless he and his masters intervene in the process of history and unleash the storm of violence that they say is coming if America doesn’t stop Iran from getting a nuclear bomb.
Every intelligent person knows that Israel’s nukes have already created an unstable environment in the Middle East. On top of that, Israel has generated insecurity and hostility towards it by repeatedly invading sacred lands and murdering innocent people. It is not a democracy. It is a nuclear-armed rogue terrorist state that is a danger to the whole world. Israel’s criminal leaders issue threats day and night, commits terrorist acts in violation of international law, block the peace process, and hide behind America at the United Nations.
Only frightened children take Netanyahu and his words seriously. He is not worthy to address the American people in Congress.
Fifty years earlier, on May 25, 1961, American President John F. Kennedy delivered a real speech, laying out his dream of taking America to the moon. President Kennedy said:
“I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the earth. No single space project in this period will be more impressive to mankind, or more important for the long-range exploration of space; and none will be so difficult or expensive to accomplish.”
Compare Kennedy’s dream with Netanyahu’s nightmare.
Kennedy wanted the world to go to the moon under America’s banner.
Netanyahu wants the world to go to hell under America’s banner.
Where would you like to go? The moon and beyond? Or Hell?
If you follow Netanyahu, you will end up in hell, and you will drag the rest of us with you.
If you love mankind, if you love Israel, if you love America, then you will stop listening to Netanyahu and start thinking for yourself.
