A couple of update items on the heated and tight U.S. Senate race in Nevada between Senate Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid and Republican Sharron Angle.
First, as always, money: If dollars are any indication of political support — as it was in 2008 when Barack Obama amassed three-quarters of a billion dollars enroute to not closing the Guantanamo Bay detention facility and now losing nearly half of his supporters — Reid is in deep sand with the midterm election just three weeks away.
Angle’s just-announced fundraising total for the third quarter was $14 million, as in nearly three times the amount of other high-profile Senate candidates, like Florida’s Marco Rubio. As in, about $156,000 per day for three months.
