A photograph which reveals a head injury sustained by Ian Tomlinson during the G20 protests before he died has emerged.
The image shows the newspaper seller lying on the ground with what appears to be a large, livid wound or bruise on the right side of his forehead.
The police watchdog is examining CCTV and pictures of the protests but refused to be drawn on the latest image.
A new image has emerged revealing a head injury sustained by Ian Tomlinson after he was pushed by police
Asked today if it would form part of an investigation, an Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) spokesman said: ‘We’re looking at lots of CCTV and images from various places, but we’re not going to give a running commentary on an ongoing criminal investigation.’
The picture comes just days after footage appeared showing Mr Tomlinson’s head hitting the pavement after he was violently pushed by a police officer.
