Drew,

Don't take the bait when someone who obviously is in a battle with reality spews such venomous fascism at us. Do you really think anybody who sees that video could possibly come up with a response like that if they had a sane brain in their head? Don't waste your time. You're right, he's wrong.

To counter this cop's argument that he was going by the books, every officer is supposed to stay away from the highway, and clearly, he is standing almost right out in traffic. He is lucky he didn't cause something worse to happen.

I say the officer went over boardmy self. I know three other ways for an office is not use that unless they were threatened with bodly harm. The officer should have not tossed the ticket book down in the fashion that he did. he was out of line when he did that. It is true that she violated the personal space rule that all officers go by, but she backup a little. She did continue, but have handle it differently. I believe that she does need to deal with the problems that she had cuased with this, but as an officer I am detested with the way he handled it, for he allowed her to push the buttons that got him aggitated to the point that he made a rookie mistake

SCOTT- Are you so flourided out you think there is one level of force for non compliance, regardless of age/physicality? I guess your wife is in law enforcement because she is more of a man than you are.

Actually, most law enforcement/government employees are fat, lazy and can't get a real job Go out drinking with them, and you will hear the truth. MOST think they are better than the public, an unfortunate side effect of authority. They really love that AUTHORITY not the RESPONSIBILITY.

This cop is sloppy, fat, ignorant, and a coward. As are any of you Chicken Hawks, supporting his behavior. A cop is given a badge/arrest powers, a baton/club, pepper spray, hand cuffs, hand to hand combat training, a radio to call other cops, pressure point training, a camera, a tazer, and a pistol, and called a hero (even sans any heroic activity). How about just as much conflict resolution training, since that seems to be whats lacking NATIONWIDE. This FAT COWARD chose to use the second most LETHAL weapon on his sloppy fat person. I feel sorry for him if he ends up having to walk around without his badge and gun. I would call him a coward to his face. I see a security guard job in his future, if that.

As for you scumbags supporting the cop, (typing on your moms computer in your double wide) I hope your grandmother gets lippy with a cop and gets tazered, until death. It will only be unfortunate it happened before she sh#t your mother or father into the toilet that is your world. Now get back to cooking your meth.

he knew he lost control of the situation and what would have happened to this lady if he didn't taser her..use a gun or beat the shit out of her? Just because of 15 miles over the speed limit..obviously the lady had never gotten a ticket before..this guy needs to be pulled off of the police force and be put in the docket room where all the officers go where they can't work anywhere else..good thing for the police surveillance camera..we wouldn't know what is really going on..

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a taser to be used in cases where a police officer is in some degree of danger, enabling him/her to defend themself while reducing the liklihood of a fatality for the other person? At what point was this officer in danger? Was this lady going to spread Old-Timer's disease to him and his family?

She never took an aggressive step toward him. She only tried to pull away. He was never in any danger.

Additionally, ask yourself this question, "If I were there, would I be able to defuse this situation?" "And in what way would I defuse it?" ...

1. First, I would understand that a person may not be pleased knowing that their being pulled over may ultimately take money from their pocket. This being the case, I know up front that I must condition myself psychologically for such confrontations.

2. I would understand that their attitude toward me for having pulled them over cannot be taken personally.

3. I would understand that many people do not trust police officers (some for good reason).

4. I would understand that taking personal offense and retaliating with emotional commands, combined with a heightened tone of voice will only encourage the same from those I'm confronting. Therefore I will reserve such an approach for when I recognize the potential for my life being in danger.

5. I would understand that as part of my being an officer, I need to ensure that I am physically fit and able to perform my duties without the need of "shock therapy." I would need to obstain from donuts and prevent my turning into a fat-ass of dough.

6. I would understand that I must constantly work on not becoming a lazy blob that has so little energy that my only option is to shock someone because my arms are tree trunks of fat.

I could defuse this situation without incident, so why aren't these guys trained to be able to do the same? Or, if they are simply bad apples, why are they not plucked from the tree, rather than being protected by their superiors who apparently approve of bullies and control freaks within their ranks? Are all officers like this? No, they are not. And to keep it that way the bullies and emotionally imbalanced should be aggressively culled.
