NEW YORK CITY (BNO NEWS) — The website of the New York Stock Exchange has been the subject of a cyber attack, a spokesman said on Wednesday.

“NYSE Euronext has been informed by authorities that its public Web site — nyse.com — has been the subject of a “denial of service” cyber attack,” said Raymond Pellecchia, Jr., who is a spokesman for NYSE Euronext.

NYSE.com has not experienced any problems as a result of the attack, likely because of the website’s security design.

“It is important to note that such an attack has not and could not impact the trading and data systems of NYSE Euronext markets, which operate on private networks,” Pellecchia added. “We will continue to work with authorities on this situation.”

Earlier on Wednesday, eleven South Korean government websites suffered a similar attack – taking them offline for hours. A number of U.S. government websites, including the U.S. State Department, have also experienced similar attacks since Independence Day.

Another excuse to take away our freedoms. Too many people are waking up too fast. Things are coming to a head quickly.

Sun online today- House of Windsor added a jet helicopter to the jet they bought last year. They have always used the military in the past for personal transport. Why now independant? The economic argument doesn’t make sense.

    4. Gary S Says:

Yes, we can expect that internet service will be cut in the event of some major attack. Remember internet cables have been sliced around the world before, so the web is not as strong as some would have us believe. A few switches or a few lines cut would leave the majority relying on the tv for news. If tv becomes the only thing available, it will be all too convenient for becoming the propaganda voice of Leviathan.

    5. Chris G. Says:

And an excuse to attack NK. Obama has been going around saying “the US reserves the right to defend itself if attacked.” He has said that several times lately about several different countries. Don’t know if that has any bearing on future events, though.

    6. BRASS BALLS Says:

They are using this as a pre-staging event the September bank holiday and scape goat N.Korea as author of the Cyber terrorism cover story for the possible disappearance of hundreds of trillions of dollars, that will happen in a few months from now, and a perfect pretext to attack N.Korea at the same time.

An attack never happened and we all know it. The media thinks we’re all a bunch of fools. This is another set-up so the Gov can start controlling the internet. They are freaking out that they are being exposed for who they really are – crimminals!

    16. Brock Says:

Just a ploy to give them a reason to either appropriate more funds for “cyber warefare” against the US people, or to crack down on internet freedom of speech.

You must all understand that should the US or Canadian Government attempt to enforce any kind of censorship of internet websites, or Service should Service Providers attempt to institute a pay per view system then that is the time to stage mass protest and unrest. If this occurs it will be the end of freedom of speech and the truth movement.
