Date Discrepancy on Chomsky video
Due to a date error on the Corbett Report video posted earlier, the blog entry has been removed. Corbett is re-editing the video to correct the error which placed some comments by Chomsky prior to the publication of “Fourteen Points of Agreement with Official Government Reports on the World Trade Center Destruction”, by 10 days.

I used to be a big Chomsky fan, but when I heard him say (essentially), “Who cares if 9/11 was an inside job?” I realized he had lost his way. He’s the classic effete intellectual, who, when faced with the opportunity to really rock the boat, refuses to rise to the occasion. Very disappointing.

For Chomsky to support alternative theories to 9/11 would require him to have a complete paradigm shift. He’s basically a socialist and he’s not going to admit that all government is inherently bad. It just ain’t going to happen at this point in his life. He’s old and tired, past his intellectual prime and he’s simply not up to the task of challenging his own belief system.
Acknowledge him for what he is: a gatekeeper. But his role as a gatekeeper is simply due to his own shortcomings.

Namaste’ (hi Alex) — I just subscribed to this site last night and when I saw the article on Noam, I came to check it out. Wouldn’t you know it! I just sent this article out (with vids) last night in a bulletin on Myspace. SO YES PLEASE, if anyone knows who uploaded these or has a copy, would be cool to reupload because they exposed Chomsky as a hypocrite/liar, at minimum! Since something like this got pulled so quickly, must be something to hide, eh? GOOGLE NOAM CHOMSKY and hopefully they’ll show up again. peaceout, bob

Any figure who is allowed to reach and remain in prominence in the tightly controlled Neocon Matrix must have the support of the powers that be. Vehement saber rattling against the powers that be while withholding the knock out punch and rendering public dissent impotent by encouraging expression through the already controlled established channels is a devious off world strategy, part of planet romancing invasion. Couching it in lofty intellectual terms is only window dressing. Someone who speaks the truth would not be allowed to hold a professorship in America.

Chomsky will rail against the American empire, rightly so, yet he always defers to super-national organizations, the UN, NATO, et. al. Ward Churchill operates in the same way. They are contrived enemies of Big Brother, but real big fans of Bigger Brother and World Government.
Chomsky a shill and his 9/11 comments are entirely transparent. He said that it was ‘extrememly unlikely’ that the US gov’t was involved, and even if they were it doesn’t matter(!?). Utter nonsense.

Alex, Jason, and the rest continue to inspire and enlighten me. I’ve always had misgivings RE Noam Chomsky’s and Amy Goodman’s near silence on recent false flag domestic terror operations here in the US (e.g., Oklahoma bombing, 9/11, etc., with more likely to come). The situation is much worse than they let on. I’ve had posts to this effect, often with references to Alex’s show, deleted from the CommonDreams news site. In fact, when I started winning people over to Ron Paul and the cause of liberty and Constitutional adherence — arguing that Obama, Clinton, and all of the other corporate candidates were frauds and sellouts — I was banned from CommonDreams! I think they even had a filter for any post that had “www.prisonplanet.com” in it!
I believe that CD, Democracy Now!, and these other official organs of the “left” do in fact function as gatekeepers limiting dissent.
The kind of passion, advocacy, and raw courage displayed by the likes of Jones, Bermas, Ray McGovern, and Jones’ many other guests dwarfs Amy Goodman’s mild mannered displays. Goodman may be trying to form a bridge between corporate media/PBS and true progressive/patriots. But in so doing she has made many compromises. The solution to the crisis at hand requires passion and energy even more so than sound information. All ye sheep! Awaken!

All of these people: Chomsky, Goodman, Moore, Bush, ORielly, Hannity..they are actors. They are hired to play a part. Their job is to prop up the illusion and give it life. That is why their “arguments” for not discussing 9/11 and the numerous holes in the official conspiracy theory ring hollow and lame. Chomsky’s opposition to the 9/11 Truth movement prove that he is either a has-been dissenter who is now operating ‘over his head’, at best, or a government collaborator at worst. That Chomsky is Jewish does not help his credibility vis-a-vis his opposition to 9/11 Truth.

The silence or outright opposition of Chomsky, Goodman, and Moore about 9/11 Truth and other essential issues speaks volumes about their ‘true colors’. Are they ‘useful idiots’ as apologists for the ‘official version’, or are they outright propagandists on the government payroll?
Speaking of ‘useful idiots’, my litmus test for determining the difference between a true Liberal and a faux Liberal is that a true Liberal would NEVER support or defend US Imperialism (including Zionism or the role of the USA as ‘world’s policeman)in any way, shape, or form. By my reckoning, most of the Americans who call themselves ‘Liberals’ don’t qualify for that designation.
In practical terms, there isn’t much difference between a faux Liberal and a neocon. A faux Liberal may support health care reform in the USA, but they also support US Imperialism and Zionism.

Whoever wrote this doesn’t understand the history of Chomsky. He is the original exposer of the Trilateral Commission and Council on Foreign Relations. HE WAS THE FIRST TO DO IT (not saying I agree with him on 9-11 though but you can’t say he hides the truth about CFR and the Trilaterals)

The reading of Chomsky, Goodman et.all posted here is a very amero-centric one. The same goes for all your comments here. The fact is that Chomsky is an academic philosopher, not a politician. And his role is not to say yes or no to a new 911 investigation, rather to warn about false pursuits, as happened during his great revolt 1968. Still, fact is Moore, Naomi Klein, Goodman etc. all publicly support a new investigation.
If you want to read these left wing thinkers you have to shift focus from USA. You have to look into the anti-globalisation movement, the world social forum and the social movements in the poverty stricken parts of the world, especially Latin-america. Look into what these left-wing people mean here and you will find struggles against atrocities much worse than 911.
I think the fear is that 911 is a false goal/objective to face, no matter who carried it out. New investigation, YES, but don’t miss your aim. The enemy is what this left you all seem to despise point at, corporatism, free market capitalism and in the end, fascism. And ask yourselves this question: Am I ready to drastically lower my standards in favor of equality.

He’s an old man now, and perhaps some of his views are set solid, but please don’t anyone forget he was pointing out whats been going on for decades before anyone else and we are all indebted to him.

Having read, heard and seen Chomsky I find his comments RE 9-11 very revealing and indicative of a deviation in his central themes in his books and lectures.
The man has, for DECADES, declared the United States as a terrorist nation (according to its own definitions) has analyzed, and scrutinized foreign policy for a great many of the states in the world in a critical light.
And yet, 9-11 (considering his knowledge on the corruption, brutality and insanity of war and states) is somehow an exception?
That somehow, the EVIL in the regimes like the White House are somehow just “not THAT evil” to pull off 9-11, although the military industrial complex murders millions, as if a few thousand are somehow SIGNIFICANTLY different than the millions murdered in the past?
Funny how Chomsky is quick to dismiss this, where in FACT, on other subjects he is very insistent on analysis, the nature of conspiracies, the very brutality and despotic nature of the elite.
Thanks Barry for consolidating and focusing on this “gate-keeper” or lost soul here, and I challenge any of his rabid “leftist” followers, the minions of “individuals” to take a good look into 9-11 (try scholars for 911 truth and Prisonplanet 911 archives for a scholarly start) and then ask yourselves WHY on EARTH he would deviate on this one?
Did Someone give him the chill?
Did Someone give him a call and THREATEN him? Perhaps they did, or perhaps Chomsky has been playing all along, allowed to voice what he needed to, to “expose ” the certain public organizations and their policies like he has, until his time was needed to gate-keep, to lead astray people who are getting closer to the truth..Does he deny Bilderberg as well?

The Corbett Report is the originator of the videos this article is about. Unfortunately, there was a factual mistake in the videos that implied Chomsky was speaking about peer-reviewed papers after the publication of Professor Jones’ paper. He was in fact speaking 10 days before their publication. This point changes nothing about the videos’ argument, but in pursuit of the truth I voluntarily took the original videos down and edited them. They are now available here:

The theme of the ‘one-world’ connivers hasn’t changed since Plato’s ‘Republic’: They KNOW what they are about.
They will tell you anything, going so far as to provide you with ~pieces~ of the truth as an incentive to believe in their line otherwise: ANYTHING to ‘hook you,’ ANYTHING to throw you off their track.

Who cares what some left wing liberal arts professor thinks about a building collapse. How the three buildings should have been effected by the plane crashes is an engineering problem, not an exercise in semantics or a debate to be won on points. Why is it that the media is not interviewing structural engineers on the subject? The buildings themselves could be modeled either physically or digitally to any necessary level of detail. Numbers, not words are the way to investigate this crime.

i’m genuinely asking for help here. I trust Alex jones as far as i can throw him but chomsky i have read a few times and i consider him a great thinker. OBL even mentioned him the other day! but, when you have cia puppets like jones and bin laden in the same website along side Noam…well, i’m a little confused. I’ve never heard a bad word against chomsky before this thread. please, if you believe what you’re saying, could you lay out the case against him in brief?!

… I agree with Mike. I like all these people, but like all humans, they are flawed. Alex Jones is a real hero as are the reporters on prisonplanet/infowars and the documentarians who make these films.
The truth hurts, and these Chomsky’s, Goodman’s, and Moore’s and Paul’s seem to hold back the truth purposefully to keep their careers. I’ve noticed on many an important vote, Ron Paul is just not present. Regarding 9/11, Paul dances around the subject and pretty much agrees with Chomsky’s dismissal of an inside job. As an active Ron Paul campaigner, I’ve come to realize his imperfections as well. However, I want to say that I am thankful for the efforts of these people.
All these folks have inspired me and have done way more than I ever have. Michael Moore got death threats just like Alex Jones. Goodman had her head bashed in when she was in East Timor. These people are walking a tight-rope and they are probably doing the best they can. You have to give them credit for that at least.
Remember – if you want the job done right, do it yourself. If you don’t like how these people express dismay at the system, do it your way. Nobody is perfect, and nobody can do things right all the time.

A couple of thoughts about Chomsky and his feeble ‘Who cares’ quotes about the real possibility of deep conspiracies involving the murder of JFK and 911:
The first time I interviewed, at length, Jim Garrison, the DA of New Orleans a couple of years after he tried unsuccessfully to convict Clay Shaw of involvement in that crime, even though he did nail him on perjury about not knowing Oswald, the Gallup poll reported that nearly 80% of Americans didn’t believe Oswald acted alone, if at all, but only around 23% wanted a new investigation!! What do these percentages reveal: they say we know what our mother did to conceive us, but don’t tell me my mother is not a virgin!!
Perhaps Chomsky and Goodwin and Ron Paul just can’t wrap their heads around the possibility that Bush and Cheney et al are not virgins when it comes to some aspects of 911!!
But my other observation, while psychologically simple, may be closer to the truth. When it comes to our imperialistic and bullying foreign policy, Chamsky really has few peers. He almost stand alone as a critic in that field; and standing alone, he has become an intellectual star! But when it comes to the Kennedy killing and the scientific facts behind the impossibility of two planes bringing those buildings down, there are literally scores and scores of scholars who are head and shoulders above everyone else. Including Chomsky. So, they are the stars in that arena. Not him. And as sad as it seems, the human ego being as pathetic as it is, he perhaps couldn’t stand being an also ran.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Pursuing 9/11 Truth will expose the whole corporate/militarist/fascist cabal of the USA, Britain, and Israel, because the London, Bali, Madrid, Oklahoma City, Berlin Disco, and many other bombings and assassinations were committed by that same cabal. (Benazir Bhutto, for one.) The fascist’s entire global sweater unravels when you pull at the thread of 9/11. Noam Chomsky is a crazy old man who as outlived his usefulness and he is now a doddering idiot and in the way. He’s become a fascist apologist. I’ve been a left wing radical since 1966 (when I was 15 years old), and until quite recently I had never read or heard anything by Chomsky. Now that I have, I’m not at all impressed — I certainly didn’t miss anything all those years by not reading Chomsky. Whatever his admirers saw in him, he’s definitely a fascist stooge today. Now Noam Chomsky is part of the problem, not part of the solution.

To know that 9/11 was an inside job is to know that the upper tier of the US government, the Pentagon, the CIA, FBI, FEMA, NSA, NORAD, ATF, the top officials and many subordinates of the New York Port Authority, United and American Airlines, many Air Traffic Controllers, and employees of Raytheon, Boozey-Hawkes, and other corporations, as well as members of MOSSAD and the Israeli government, were directly involved in planning and carrying out the 9/11 attacks, the Anthrax letter attacks of October 2001, and the Bali, Madrid, London, Berlin Disco, Oklahoma City, and 1993 WTC bombings. The number of those involved directly in 9/11 alone may number in the thousands. Unless the majority of those perpetrators are arrested and face the hangman’s noose, democracy in the USA will remain a myth of fascist US propaganda for perpetuity. What really scares the faux Liberals of the USA is that the real truth of 9/11 is that 9/11 taught us that without a real shooting Revolution, a French style Revolution, with thousands of public executions on the Washington Mall that are broadcast on live television, the USA will remain fascist, and that fascism will inevitably deepen.

A college student claimed it was all a joke when he put his vote in this fall’s presidential election up for sale on the Web auction site eBay. But prosecutors didn’t see the humor.
Prosecutors say a college student put his vote up for sale on eBay in return for voting for the bidder’s candidate.
University of Minnesota student Max P. Sanders, 19, was charged with a felony Thursday in Hennepin County District Court after allegedly asking for a minimum of $10 in exchange for voting for the bidder’s preferred candidate.
“Good luck!” Sanders wrote under the eBay handle zepdrummer612. “You’re (sic) country depends on You!”
Sanders was charged with one count of bribery, treating and soliciting under an 1893 state law that makes it a crime to offer to buy or sell a vote.
According to a criminal complaint, the Minnesota secretary of state’s office learned about the offering on the Web site and told prosecutors. Investigators sent a subpoena to eBay and got information that led to Sanders.
The student told investigators he made the eBay posting, adding, “That was a joke. It’s no longer listed,” according to the complaint.
“We take it very seriously. Fundamentally, we believe it is wrong to sell your vote,” said John Aiken, a spokesman for the office. “There are people that have died for this country for our right to vote, and to take something that lightly, to say, ‘I can be bought.’
“It’s a real shame,” he said. “I can imagine the conversations being held in American Legion Clubs and VFWs about whether this is a joke or not.”
The scarcely used law had its heyday in the 1920s, when many people sold their votes in exchange for liquor, Assistant County Attorney Pat Diamond said.
“There are two things going on here in terms of why it’s a crime,” he said. “One is the notion that elections should be a contest of ideas and not of pocketbooks — at least not in the sense of straight-out ‘I can buy your vote.’ The second notion is that everybody gets one vote, and you don’t get to buy another one.”
Sanders and his attorney, Steven Levine, declined to comment Thursday. The charge carries up to five years’ imprisonment and a $10,000 fine.

There is a lot of rage and rightly so. But that should not stop us thinking. We can not assume the “truth” comes from one person, or one side, or from one time. Choams words can also be interpreted as: the truth will come out… in time…as it always does…
But: ask yourself this: what is a bigger crime: 911 or the abuse thereafter…Seriously not an easy question but a significant and important one…
BTW is it not time to think beyond left and right, black and white, them and us…
Would “love” not be a better “weapon” against the dark powers…

My argument is that Chomsky is part of a movement much bigger than the 911 truth movement. A movement that spans far beyond USA. A movement including world social forum, the anti-globalization movement, peace movement, feminist movement etc. These movements have walked into false pursuits before, and are therefore quite conservative. Sure there are covert black-ops, infiltrators etc, and maybe Chomsky is one of them, what do I know, but my argument is that 911 truth is not top priority for these movements. At this stage the left is protecting political gains already won. And 911 could very well be a red herring here. But attitudes are shifting I think, I was quite surprised to hear Naomi Klein promoting a new investigation at a seminar last month.

This may puzzle some Chomsky acolytes, but not if they understand that Chomsky is in fact here to manufacture dissent; that is, constrain the public discourse and provide people with ineffectual ways of protesting against the encroaching police state. He will never direct his followers to look into the real centers of political power in America (the Bilderberg Group, the CFR, the Trilateral Commission, etc.) but instead have them chase some nameless, faceless “corporate greed.” Chomsky is a gatekeeper.

We all know the CIA is inside Google now, and that conservative think tanks, Homeland Security, and the Scaife foundation pay fascist drones to post put-down/disruptive comments on blogs like this. Excellent presentation for people raised on teevee. Text alone doesn’t cut it. What about the Pakistani Intelligence general who wired $100K to one of the so-called “hi-jackers” (no one of Islamic decent was even on those planes — as per check-in logs and attendant testimony) two weeks before 9/11 –
(comment continued…) — the same general who was having breakfast with two Congressional Representatives the very morning of 9/11 — the same two who were called upon to lead the “official” 9/11 white wash — and who concluded in that report that the funding sources for the so-called “terrorists” was of no consequence. Chomsky is just yet another left wing, innefectual gate keeper. Just like Obama and his ‘Change we can believe in’. The point is that these people are part of the false left-right paradigm, they are puppets controlled by the hidden hand of power, whether they know it or not. Why else would Obama’s mentor and controller be Zbignew Brezezinsky an arch Neo-Con designer of the ‘War on terror’. Chomsky, be gone, Satan’s child.

thanks for your consideration – though not entirely sure what you meant, however just to reasure you I’m not as green as I obviously am cabbage-looking.
The point I was trying to make was there are enough legitimate targets out there without attacking those who are essentially on the same side. Its going to be a tough job convincing the majority of people who have accepted the official line to dismiss the ‘evidence’ of their own eyes. From what I understand, Chomsky is sticking to his guns, and could well hoist them with their own petard. The proof they caused it is a matter of record in the receipts for the near billion they gave to start the very terrorist network they claim is responsible. Ok, its not as sensational as the alternatives, just a damn sight more easy to understand and accept, however it’s unlikely to get much of a hearing. How ironic that a man who has been marginalised, and I’ll reiterate this, for decades by the very system your up against,now gets criticised and marginalised by the very people who need to understand what he knows. Coincidence?

funny, how people who are stupid, materialistic, shallow, and regressing backwards into apes, are represented by a supreme representative that so closely resembles them-and a chimp, since they are in a backwards slide their next representative should be even more of an uncivilized, unevolved, unenlightened gay drug addicted-sociopath. Bush will declare Marshall law and be president for two more years, they want a black candidate to foment a racial civil war in america, people who can only destroy-violent sociopaths such as americans-will get total destruction.
