Now the U.S. porn industry seeks $5billion bailout

After the banks and the cars, now the U.S. porn industry has gone cap in hand to Washington seeking a multi-billion dollar bailout.
American commentators did not know whether to laugh or cry yesterday at the news that the economic downturn ‘has made America’s appetite for sex go limp’.
The statement came from Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt and ‘Girls Gone Wild’ creator Joe Francis yesterday.
In a statement, Larry Flynt said that the economic downturn has been mirrored by a sexual downturn. ‘Americans can do without cars and such but they cannot do without sex,’ he said, adding that this was very ‘unhealthy’.

Entertainment website TMZ.com reported that adult movie DVD sales have plummeted 22 per cent in one year.
And with all the free competition available, it appears the porn industry is not as recession proof as first thought.
TMZ said Joe Francis, hounded by legal troubles, plans to go to Congress to ask for his own stimulus package.
‘Francis sees his industry like the big three automakers, only BIGGER,’ the website claimed. ‘Sounds like someone has a bone to pick.’
American commentators reacted in disbelief.

I think it’s great that he is pointing out the absurdity of these bailouts. I hope he brings a lawsuit. It’s sickening we and our future generations are being FORCED to pay for this bailout. Our govt is corrupt, corrupt, corrupt. We must abolish the FED and get back to sound money. That will solve all problems.

Oh PLEASE! this is getting ridiculous, why in the world should any one be entitled to any kind of bail out for bad business decisions?
The next will be the movie and music industries asking for help. They have made some whoppers as well and try to blame piracy when their greedy ways do it them (read bad business model). My position on all of this is let them sink or swim on their own since they were a bunch or greedy SOB’s to start with, no more of my money for them! THis is the only way to regain balance in the world.
WHY DON’T THEY (the idiots in Washington or elsewhere) ADDRESS THE PRIME ISSUE HERE? CONTINUAL GROWTH IS UNSUSTAINABLE, WHERE IS THE BALANCE? I DO NOT SEE ANY DO YOU? THIS IS WHERE THE GREED IS, ALWAYS WANTING MORE, MORE MORE… NEVER SETTLING FOR ENOUGH TO LIVE ON AND GET BY.

This plan has potential. Better an honest whore be paid than a bent whore (banker). Further, it would bring some joy to a nation that no longer laughs and at a mere 5B it could be funded with off budget slush money. Makes too much sense – they’ll never do it.
