Now there are 1,000 laws that will let the state into your home article 1036561 014F3B6900000578 809 233x377

The march of the Big Brother state under Labour was highlighted last night as it was revealed that there are now 1,043 laws that give the authorities the power to enter a home or business.

Nearly half have been introduced since Labour came to power 11 years ago. They include the right to:

    • Invade your home to see if your pot plants have pests or do not have a ‘plant passport’ (Plant Health England Order 2005).

    (Article continues below)

    • Survey your home and garden to see if your hedge is too high (Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003).

    • Check that accommodation given to asylum seekers is not being lived in by non-asylum seekers (Immigration and Asylum Act 1999).

    • Raid a house to check if unlicensed gambling is taking place (Gambling Act 2005 Inspection Regulations 2007).

    • Seize fridges without the correct energy rating (Energy Information Household Refrigerators and Freezers Regulations 2004).

The rise in clipboard-wielding state inspectors flies in the face of repeated pledges by Ministers to curb the power of bureaucrats.

The full extent of the state’s ‘powers of entry’ is revealed in documents slipped out quietly by the Government last week.

    1. Canadianperson Says:

      Disgusting.

    2. Ciaran Gallagher Says:

You’d think this is a joke. But it really isn’t. People are being forced to pay expensive fines for not closing bin lids properly! Help us!

    3. FK Says:

Good stuff…..keep the people in check…..

    4. MAD MARK Says:

That’s what will happen here (U.S.) if we do not stop them now. First, it’s spot road checks for assumed violations even if your driving is just fine. Next it’s crackdown at school. No meds from home, no missing school without congressionl approval. Lastly, take all the guns. Your clergymen will help you find a homeland security weapons disposal location. That’s all it takes for the Fed or State to be able to control you. If the Brits had guns they would still be free.

    5. flek Says:

      Britons…you are to blame. Period.

    6. Chris Says:

Hey ‘flek’, STFU. As if we get any say in this, you mindless idiot.

    7. flek Says:

That is your inherent problem Chris. The inability to act.
Gandhi and his followers did it by refusing to do a damn thing until things changed. Bringing the machine to a grinding halt.
You have the power to change things but are too afraid to do so. You must speak and act with one voice.
“As if we get any say in this” is admitting slavery and defeat. Probably a similar line used by US blacks before Martin Luther King Jr. came along…
Boats were made of wood, men of steel…boats were made of iron, men of wood. Boats are made of steel men are made of paper…to be thrown in any circular file the govt. wishes to put them in.
“As if we get any say in this”-defeatist…insert spine!

    8. Chris Says:

OK, well I have to say I agree with your point. But I disagree that I don’t have the ability to act. Personally I do, but unfortunately in the UK (and seemingly in the USA as well) the people with that mentality are in the minority, preferring to be apathetic and just grumble about it instead.

The reason I said ‘we don’t have a say in this’ is because realistically we don’t, these things will be forced on us against our will anyway. It’s not necessarily defeatist, it’s realistic – unless we choose not to put up with it any more.

My philosophy, like David Icke (and Ghandi) says, is ‘peaceful non-cooperation’, ie simply refusing to go along with whatever crap the system flings at you in a non-violent way. If enough people just refused to co-operate (for example removing the chips from their bins and simply posting them back to the government) then they couldn’t pull this stuff on us time and time again.

The real problem is the attitude of the majority of people being apathetic or not caring (or not even realising that there is a problem!), but I just wonder how far the public will have to be pushed until they stand up and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. That time is getting ever nearer, I feel, as this once-great country descends into more and more complete madness by the day.

Chris, very glad to know you haven’t just given up and crawled away into a dark pub somewhere. I’m just so annoyed because I lived in Britain back in the 80’s and it was a truly great country. I just see red when people there seem to have such little self worth to act and preserve their roots.
Obviously, by your reply, you are not one of them.
      Apologies.
Just remember all this and talk about it the next time you do crawl away into a dark pub somewhere. Pull their heads out of the sand.
      -cheers

    10. Attus Ducaz Vulturas Says:

Well now, if only america and england could talk it out like chris and flek we could just be dandy. if two agro-citizens can agree to something, so could two old time bastards in the higher echelon of our governments to stop this madness! we need to keep uniting!

C.O.T.A. will soon be at hand to unify mankind.
good form flek and chris. good points on both sides.

the problem with other countries is that they do not have the american constitution! we have been given the power to restructure our government. the feds is to be under state, working to aide the state, not for feds to regulate state. the states have power however “we the people” have carte blanche when we deem that the u.s. gov has failed to protect us financially and physically. now i know not what ur forefathers in england have decreed an order of future protection for her citizens. maybe they need a re-writing!
